This message is meant to help believers deal with the problem of impure images evolving or reoccurring in the realm of the mind. In Hebrews 11:1 we are told that 'faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.'

It is also possible to translate this sentence as follows: 'Faith is a concrete reality of the things that one dreams (enthuses/wishes and/or imagines) which are just in a visual form.'

Faith And The Word of God

God seeks to see what captures our hearts, because we (progressively) begin to believe the things that bind our hearts, so that in the end we have developed enough faith for it to happen in our lives. For this reason it is important to allow the Word of God to capture our hearts with its truth.

The only way we can 'dream' about the things of the Word of God in our lives, is to have an anchor for this reality in our hearts, and to position ourselves in the place of truth so that in the end these things come into the visible. Faith, therefore, is a tangible 'matter' and not something unreal. It is a tangible substance that is present in the realm of the mind.

The Gate Of Faith

Faith acts like a gate and it is therefore important that it functions properly in our life. This happens when we are at this place in the Spirit and begin to work with it, which means, we have the Word of God and believe it. In doing so, we allow the Word of God to capture our mind, so that we begin to think about it and learn or rather internalize the 'information' contained therein.

The things that capture our heart will begin to take shape in our lives, because that which binds our inner man begins to become real for us. Thus, faith is the reality of heaven, as well as the sphere that surrounds our life.

Romans 11:17 says that 'faith comes from what is heard and what is heard by the word of Christ.'

This means, it is the Word of God which speaks, and it is the Spirit of the Lord who gives the Word of God voice when we begin to speak the Word. This leads to wisdom unfolding in our lives.

God's Desire For Us

God, the LORD, wants us, His people, to have faith. It is faith that is linked to 'dreaming' about things in the Word of God or to ponder about them, until they become reality in our lives. This pondering taking place in our imagination is the essential key point for the presence of God and the realm of Heaven.

The Pictographic Language of God

God always speaks in pictures, which is why the Hebrew letters (note: the alphabet of God's chosen people), among other things, have a pictographic meaning.
When the Word of God speaks of a supernatural visitation of God, it more frequently means, the Word of the Lord which came to persons, whereupon they began to see so that they might hear (see Genesis 15:1; Job 13:1; Ezekiel 1:3-4; Matthew 13:17; Revelation 14:1-2).

Genesis 15:1:
1 After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.”

Job 13:1:
1 “My eyes have seen all this, my ears have heard and understood it. …”

Ezekiel 1:3-4:
… 3 the word of the Lord came to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, by the Kebar River in the land of the Babylonians.1 There the hand of the Lord was on him.
4 I looked, and I saw a windstorm coming out of the north – an immense cloud with flashing lightning and surrounded by brilliant light. The center of the fire looked like glowing metal, …

Matthew 13:17:
17 For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

Revelation 14:1-2:
1 Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.
2 And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps.

Seeing The Lord

It is important to note that it is not a question of merely hearing the voice of God [alone] but of seeing the Lord (see Job 42:5, Revelation 1:10.12).

Job 42:5:
5 My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.

Revelation 1:10.12:
10 On the Lord’s Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet, …
12 I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, …

With God, all the things He speaks into existence are first visible before Him in order to be transferred into the natural world (see Romans 4:17).

Romans 4:17:
17 As it is written (see Genesis 17:5): “I have made you (note: Abraham) a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed – the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.

For this reason Jesus, while living on earth as a human being, did what He saw the Father doing (John 5:19.43a.47; John 12:49; John 14:10).

John 5:19.43a.47:
19 Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. …
43 I have come in my Father’s name, …
47 But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?”

John 12:49:
49 For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken.

John 14:10:
10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.

This divine principle is unchangeable, and this is also the reason why the enemy is attacking people in the realm of the mind in order to induce them to take his evil impulses and to implement them in the visible realm.

The Cleansing Of The Conscience

With this understanding it is so important that we, as people of God, apply the blood of Jesus Christ by purifying our conscience in order to stand in the ministry of the living God (see Hebrews 9:14 i.c.w. Romans 12:2, Ephesians 4:23-24).

Hebrews 9:14:
14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

Romans 12:2:
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Ephesians 4:23-24:
… 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

The Submission Of The Soul

At the point, where we as believers do not have faith for what the word of God says, it becomes necessary that our soul is submitted to the order of the spirit which is within us. As a result we begin to linger and ponder about the divine truth of God, so that the thoughts we have in accordance to the will of God, come into the visible by our inner attitude (we consider it to be true), our words and acts.

God requires our submission and surrender. When we are submitted in surrender to Him, then we have the resurrection power of surrender.

The Fight Against Iniquity And The Power Of The Glory Of God

The greatest struggle we face as human beings is the struggle with sin/iniquity. We are struggling with sin, because we usually try to discipline it from the outside to the inside, rather than transforming it from the inside out.
If one stumbles in certain areas of sin, it is important to receive the flow of the glory of God which flows from the spirit man into these realms and eliminates the darkness. This changes the whole life and nature of the procedure. This change takes place only at the point, where the fire of God is allowed to move so that everything that rises up against the knowledge of God is consumed (see 2 Corinthians 10:3-5).

2 Corinthians 10:3-5:
3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.
4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

The Knowledge Of God And The Pretension Against It

The problems we are struggling with in our thoughts are things that are in the high places and rise against (pretension) the knowledge of God. The knowledge of God is based on faith and revelation. It is based on the reality of the Word of God; not merely on the written knowledge, but on revelatory knowledge.

The false arising or pretension of things may be noticed, among other things, by the fact that one is in a time of worship, where God's presence is present, and suddenly impure thoughts arise which one doesn't rule over by taking them captive to make them obedient to Christ.

This leads to the sudden disappearance of the Lord's atmosphere.

It is important to deal with the things or impure images that prevent someone from receiving divine revelation by placing them under the influence of the glory of God which the person carries through Jesus Christ in him-/herself.

The images are not under submission by controlling them, but by giving them to the process of the holy consummation of God (note: With this, the process is effected by the power of God, not by one's own.).

How Can Someone Remove Impure Imaginations From The Mind?

As already mentioned above, according to Hebrews 9:14, one needs to apply the blood of Jesus. This application requires unrestrained faith or trust.

Hebrews 9:14:
14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

For the blood of Jesus to become active, it needs the confession of false images, which one has and by which one is captured. This is achieved by recognizing its presence in ones life and the decision that the respective person doesn't want them any longer or wants to get rid of them (see 1 John 1:7.9).

1 John 1:7.9:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. …
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

The Confession And Cleansing Of The Three Inner Levels

The process of confession touches the mind (note: intellect), the emotions and the will of a person. All three areas must be delivered from the 'waste'.

If an area in the soul is not purified, these impure images still have influence.

If someone, for example, is only delivered in the intellect but not in the realm of the emotions, then an external control by own power is gained of the unclean images; this produces a discipline by ones own strength which can't endure long enough to keep the life in victory, because the realm of the emotions in the respective person isn't cleansed, so that the person is subtly seduced.

Our impressions as well as imaginations which don't coincide with the Word of God, correspond to the powers of conviction that are strengthened or 'nourished' by our emotions (note: the area of feelings and needs). Hence, the change of the realm of the emotions/feelings is also necessary (see Philippians 3:8).

Philippians 3:8:
8 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ …

It is important that the person, who wants to be delivered from unclean images, intentionally removes these images from his/her life through the power of confession by cleansing these images through the blood of Jesus and thus enters the process of divine restoration.

Each unclean picture (note: imagination) should be completely filled with the blood of Jesus, so that there is only a red surface on the picture. As a result the evil is destroyed by the power of the blood of Jesus and replaced with the presence of His life.

In this way one forgets the past and moves forward confidently with Jesus Christ (see Philippians 3:13-14). The obligation here is, accordingly, the agreement with, as well as the submission to the truth which is the Word of God.

Philippians 3:13-14:
13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Each individual believer must carry out this process for him-/herself, even if he/she is accompanied or advised by competent believers. This will result in the delivered believer developing a personal and powerful testimony (see Revelation 12:11).

Revelation 12:11:
11 They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

Approach For Deliverance

If a believer is troubled by unclean or evil thoughts and really wants to get delivered from them, then I would like to encourage the respective believer to place his/her hands on their own belly because there is the seat of the Spirit (see John 7:38).

John 7:38:
38 Whoever believes in me (note. Jesus Christ), as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”

Now the believer should be aware that he/she is before the throne of grace in Jesus Christ in order to receive the power of the blood of Jesus in his/her life, so that he/she can serve the living God in a new way (see Hebrews 4:16 i.c.w. Isaiah 1:18; Hebrews 9:14).

Hebrews 4:16:
16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Isaiah 1:18:
18 “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.

Hebrews 9:14:
14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

When the believer is aware that he/she is in front of the throne of grace through the work of Jesus Christ on the cross, I would like to ask every person concerned (note: anybody, who feels that this is directed/aimed at them), who is struggling with an unclean picture or pictures in their thoughts, to reflect it in the truth of God in their mind in front of the throne of grace.
Now you should be aware of the picture as well as of the perception of God according to your absolute consent to His point of view and confess it.
Sin not afterwards, have no desire for it, and be not thereby controlled. Just recognize it as sin before God in your life because if you possess something, you can also get rid of it (as in 'becoming free of it').

It can also help, if you realize that you cover the unclean picture in your thoughts, as if painting it with a brush and red color. Now take the image that got painted over with the blood of Jesus and hang it up in the spirit realm while you look at it. Now claim the forgiveness of the blood of Jesus, which is equivalent to a whole new unpainted white picture (see Isaiah 1:18).
At this point, thank your Heavenly Father for placing you as a spiritual being in a human body and who justified you through Jesus Christ to be in His holy presence, as well as carrying the presence of Heaven in you. Thank your Heavenly Father that His authority and dominion, as well as the sphere of Heaven are living in your spirit.

You can say the prayer as follows (note: in the presence of a mature, trustworthy believer):

'Father, today, in the name of Jesus Christ, I apply the blood that redeems and purifies.
Father, there is strength in this blood to restore my soul. There is the power in the blood of Jesus to cleanse me of the pollution of the control of my soul.
Father, today I take the unclean picture in Jesus' name and take the blood and begin to paint it completely. Thank you Holy Spirit!
Jesus, I destroy the image with your blood, and speak today to the image that you are redeemed from the power of the enemy. I am redeemed from the unclean influence!
I decree that I am redeemed by the power of the blood from the evil influence of the unclean picture! I am redeemed from its influence! I am free from this impure power over my life in the name of Jesus Christ!'

You can repeat this procedure with any image (or 'object of false worship') that oppresses you.

Be sure to celebrate the victory of Jesus in your life by glorifying Him with your body (see Romans 6:13), and invite some friends for a meal to share your testimony with them, if you like.

Romans 6:13:
13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.

Introduction

As of late I notice that an increasing number of Christians in the body of Christ look for true orientation regarding their future. The reason for this search lies in the Spirit of the Father (note: Holy Spirit) pulling many saints in Jesus Christ closer to the apostolic structure of the character of Jesus that is connected to the structure of the King of Kings, who is the lion of the tribe of Judah (see John 6:44 i.c.w. Revelation 55).

John 6:44:
44 “No one can come to me (note: Jesus Christ) unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.

Revelation 5:5:
5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

Complete Devotion And Healthy Submission

This pulling into the apostolic-regal structure requires full willingness to make sacrifices for Jesus Christ; this means true surrender and submission to Him.
It is the lamb of God, looking as if it had been slain, and it alone has the right to give revelation or vision for the future which, at the same time, contains true orientation (see Revelation 5:6-10).

Revelation 5:6-10:
6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the centre of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.
7 He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne.
8 And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.
9 And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.
10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.”

The New Sound

This new song as it is written in Revelation 5:9 carries a sound that creates fresh movement in the lives of saints. It also includes guidance by the apostolic anointing which one submits to freely.
Coming under apostolic anointing does not mean, one can live one's own life, rather it means advancing in accordance with the will of God to experience competent apostolic guidance (see Galatians 2:20).

Galatians 2:20:
20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Lack Of Orientation By Reason Of God-conducted Change

Furthermore, I noticed lately that some believers are partly without orientation, and cannot discern the voice of God clearly for their lives, as they are in a phase of change conducted by God.
In their spirit they may sense that they face changes, but they don't really know how to carry on.

To find out how to advance, it is advisable to enter an apostolic alignment with saints who work with high standards in their God-given spiritual office with the apostolic-prophetic anointing in the body of Christ.

Apostles And The Realm Of The Spirit

Apostles operate on a battle field in the spiritual realm, and not first and foremost as shepherds on green pastures to guide and feed the sheep.
I would like to point out here that I have absolutely no intention to depreciate the office of the shepherd (note: pastor), rather I want to contribute to a better understanding of how God is guiding and forming His people at present.

Apostles function in the „Strateia-anointing“, which contains God's ability to release strategies for saints who are spiritually connected with them.
The result of such apostolic alignments is shown in the quality and mature spiritual character of the life of the respective believer.
=> Believers mostly discern the spiritual impact of an apostle, who is a stratospheric/spiritual office bearer, on the spiritual level.
The intensity of his spiritual advance is conducted in the heavenly sphere.
Paul's exhortation of Timothy to “wage war” with the prophecies he received is explained in the Greek term “strateia”, or contains spiritual warfare in the way conducted by apostles (see 2.Corinthians 10:4; Ephesians 6:12; 1.Timothy 1:18). <= (based on an explanation from the “Prophet's Dictionary” by Paula A. Price, Ph. D.; pages 61 and 62)

Consequently, Apostles are the carriers of the “pioneering” wind of God which achieves breakthrough in the lives of the saints who have recognized their authority as kings and priests and walk in it (see 2.Samuel 5:24 i.c.w. Revelation 1:5b-6).

2.Samuel 5:24:
24 As soon as you (note.: King David) hear the sound of marching in the tops of the poplar trees, move quickly, because that will mean the Lord has gone out in front of you to strike the Philistine army.”

Revelation 1:5b.6:
… 5b To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.

Change Is Never Easy!

Change is never easy but it has to take place at various times in the life of a believer in Christ.
At this, believers undergoing such change should be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and the guidance He gives at this time.
In this case, it is about the kingdom of God and not about “spiritual religious games” that never lead to the right result, anyway. The LORD will no longer permit these “games” in His body.

Advancing In The Power Of God's Reversion

In His goodness, Jesus, the King of Kings, has condoned such practices for a long time in His body on earth. But under the apostolic structure at present, it is no longer tolerated.
Now is the time to advance in the power of God's reversion (note: contains the renewal of the mind according to Romans 12:2) in order to stand in the plan of God for this time.

Romans 12:2:
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

The Favor Of God And Obedience

The favor of God is being released over the life of a believer when he is obedient to the voice of God for this time.
There is no longer room in the body of Christ for inactivity, hesitant conduct, analyzing things and indecisiveness, where people come together under a spiritual apostolic alignment in this time.
It is time to act like Elisha when he began to follow Elijah (see 1 Kings 19:19-21).

1 Kings 19:19-21:
19 So Elijah went from there and found Elisha son of Shaphat. He was ploughing with twelve yoke of oxen, and he himself was driving the twelfth pair. Elijah went up to him and threw his cloak around him.
20 Elisha then left his oxen and ran after Elijah. “Let me kiss my father and mother goodbye,” he said, “and then I will come with you.” “Go back,” Elijah replied. “What have I done to you?”
21 So Elisha left him and went back. He took his yoke of oxen and slaughtered them. He burned the ploughing equipment to cook the meat and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he set out to follow Elijah and became his servant.

It is a crucial time - a time of change.
Every time a measure of divine time is fulfilled, the spirit of prophesy moves in a special way. This special way signifies a release of prophetic guidance from the field of the office of the prophet who guides apostolically. Elisha experienced this. He was at the twelfth yoke of the oxen, as the prophet Elijah approached him and placed him under the apostolic-prophetic anointing (note: new vision and authority) which challenged him to go a new way.

The covering of the apostolic-prophetic mantle of anointing in this time becomes noticeable in the life of believers as follows: They come into contact with a ministry, where they realize that the prophetic words or messages coming from this ministry are an inner confirmation of things, they also discerned in their spirit in a similar way.

Here I would like to record that Elijah was in the same territory as Elisha, who didn't know that, before long, a new time would come for him.
Elijah was God's executive power in this, with Elisha being the recipient who had to make the decision, whether to go along under Elijah's anointing or not.
This was a God-intended and -initiated change for Elisha.
The change initiated by God is meant for improvement for the sake of the kingdom.

What Is The Kingdom Of God?

=> A) It is the sovereignty of God in the believer by way of the Holy Spirit.
B) It is the presence of God indwelling in a person as His holy habitation. This presence releases the epitome/structure of the deity toward the vessel, all accomplishments, provision and power characteristic of the creator God and His eternal kingdom.
The epitome/structure releases the hand of God to move freely and to wield authority wherever a believer is present. <= (based on an explanation from the “Prophet's Dictionary” by Paula A. Price, Ph. D.; page 298)

The Kingdom Of God In Our Hearts

Jesus Christ said, like a treasure, the kingdom of God should be in our hearts (see Matthew 6:21).

Matthew 6:21:
21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

In addition, our hearts really and truly need to change to continually be able to abide by God's will and His ways.

Do Not Play Spiritual „Games“

It is vital for believers not to play spiritual „games“ in consequence of an unhealthy independent mindset which manifests like this: the believer “runs” from one meeting/congregation to the next, and only goes there, because he wants to receive a “small touch” from the LORD (see Isaiah 14:13-14).

Isaiah 14:13-14:
13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon.
14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”

Unhealthy Independence

The mindset of unhealthy independence can make itself felt through the conduct of believers; they only revolve around themselves and think, they are in the right. They say or think to themselves things like, “I, you, me, mine, LORD, bless us all.”
Such conduct in believers is a sign for a life lived in “darkness”, as they do not permit the Spirit of God to renew their mind. For this reason they get into trouble, because they are not able to discern the perfect will of God and act accordingly (see Romans 12:2).

Romans 12:2:
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Preventing False Independence

In this time, the Heavenly Father emphasizes the purpose of the kingdom. It is necessary to speak the truth to those who have ears to hear what God's spirit is saying, and to stop those among the body of Christ who want to play a “religious game of independence”.

Apostolic Confrontation

There is no spirit-filled restoration of things without apostolic confrontation.

With the above mentioned believers I mean individuals who did not really join the ranks of the body of Christ. These are believers who are only after a quick fix for their problems, and are not serious about discipleship. They “hop” from fellowship to fellowship or congregation to congregation, and they never change, because they do not want to be in the light where Christ is. This means, the believers in question do not want to be in the area of God's authority which He has implemented on earth (see Psalm 36:9 i.c.w. 1 John 1:7).

Psalm 36:9:
9 For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

1 John 1:7:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

God gave the people whom He trusts His divine authority, and He has chosen them to steward this authority. It also means complete submission unto God.

If this word concerns you, then it is high time to place yourself under true apostolic authority in the body of Christ. If you don't, you will not see the results you are hoping for.
God never changes His principles.

Amen and Amen.

The Call To Seek The Face Of God

In Psalm 27:8, David speaks about the call of his heart to seek the face of God.

Psalm 27:8:
8 My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek.

In link with this scripture, I would like to share some secrets about the face or rather, the faces of God to give us more understanding about His presence.

The search for the Lord's face with the aim of finding Him is connected to a pure or sincere heart.

Moreover in this connection, the lifestyle to live in holiness is of special importance because without holiness it is not possible to see the Lord (see Matthew 5:8; Matthew 7:7; Hebrews 12:14).

Matthew 5:8:
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Matthew 7:7:
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Hebrews 12:14:
14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

Living In Holiness

To live in holiness means that every individual believer in Jesus Christ submits his soul to the order of the Word of God. These are the areas of the will, the emotions and the mind. All three areas should conform to the order of the Word of God which is present in the Spirit (see Galatians 5:16-17).

Galatians 5:16-17:
16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.

The term 'flesh' as mentioned in Galatians 5 => describes the thought, the will and the acting of man, which isn't determined by God and His will but only by the fleshly being – by sin (see Romans 8:1-17; Galatians 5:13-6:12; Ephesians 2:3; Philippians 3:3-4). In contrast to the spirit, flesh describes the fact that sin dominates man and his members so that the 'flesh', like a foreign power, dictates his whole being which is connected with death (see Romans 7:5-25). <= (partial excerpt from the German CD-ROM Bible edition of the Lutheran Bible 1984 with the word key number 10)

The Face And The Front

In order to better understand the characteristic of the face of God, I would like to refer to the Hebrew word for 'face' which is 'pānîm', meaning 'face, the presence of a person, the appearance and the front side' (like 'in front of, before, to the front of, in the presence of, in the face of, at the face or front of, from the presence of, from before, from before the face of'). (note: partial excerpt from the Elberfelder Study Bible to the word 'face-pānîm' with the word key number 6574)

The Tribe Of Judah And The East

This word explanation reveals that it is about the direction 'of the east' or, also expressed in a prophetic context, to our 'good future in God', as the front from God's point of view is the east. It is the side, where the sun rises and it points to the beginning of human events and their affairs. Furthermore, it is the direction from which Jesus Christ returns and appears on the earth (see Matthew 24:27).

Matthew 24:27:
27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

Furthermore, the east is the direction where the tribe of Judah encamped around the Tabernacle during the time when the people of Israel lived in the desert (see Numbers 2:2-4).

Numbers 2:2-4:
2 “The Israelites are to camp around the tent of meeting some distance from it, each of them under their standard and holding the banners of their family.”
3 On the east, toward the sunrise, the divisions of the camp of Judah are to encamp under their standard. The leader of the people of Judah is Nahshon son of Amminadab.
4 His division numbers 74,600.

'Judah' means 'praise' and it is praise that we should express to God first (see Numbers 10:11-14 i.c.w. Judges 20:18; Psalm 100:4).

Numbers 10:11-14:
11 On the twentieth day of the second month of the second year, the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle of the covenant law.
12 Then the Israelites set out from the Desert of Sinai and traveled from place to place until the cloud came to rest in the Desert of Paran.
13 They set out, this first time, at the Lord’s command through Moses.
14 The divisions of the camp of Judah went first, under their standard. Nahshon son of Amminadab was in command.

Judges 20:18:
18 The Israelites went up to Bethel and inquired of God. They said, “Who of us is to go up first to fight against the Benjamites?” The Lord replied, “Judah shall go first.”

Psalm 100:4:
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

The High Praise And The Presence Of God

The high praise of God isn't moving alone; it cooperates with God's presence as a cloud.
It is God's 'cloud – presence' that contributes to the fact that the believer doesn't serve the Lord out of his own power. It is God's presence which places the believer in the state of spirit filled (effected by God) awe and submission in order to act in reverence towards Him (see Numbers 10:11-12 i.c.w. 1 Kings 8:10-11).

Numbers 10:11-12:
11 On the twentieth day of the second month of the second year, the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle of the covenant law.
12 Then the Israelites set out from the Desert of Sinai and traveled from place to place until the cloud came to rest in the Desert of Paran.

1 Kings 8:10-11:
10 When the priests withdrew from the Holy Place, the cloud filled the temple of the Lord.
11 And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled his temple.

David And God's Presence

Returning to Psalm 27, it was David (means 'well beloved, dear') who wrote it. His name points to the importance of knowing that we are loved by God.

If we walk in love towards God and understand that He loves us, we will not fear the quality or rather the characteristic of His being, or the realm where He lives, even if it looks uncertain (see 1 John 4:18).

1 John 4:18:
18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

The Four Living Creatures And Their Faces

In order to understand God's face even better, I would like to address the faces of the four living creatures, as mentioned in Revelation 4:6-8.

Revelation 4:6-8:
6 Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal. In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back.
7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle.
8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying: “ ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and is, and is to come.”

Each of these faces show a significant portion of the desire of God to display the facets of His character to us relationally.

The four revelatory characteristics of the face of God include the face of the:
  1. lion => The face of the lion is connected with the Spirit of the LORD, and the Spirit of the Fear of the LORD.
  2. bull/ox => The face of the bull is connected with the Spirit of Might/Strength.
  3. man => The face of the man is connected with the Spirit of Understanding and Counsel.
  4. flying eagle => The face of the flying eagle is connected with the Spirit of Wisdom and Knowledge.
The reason why the living creatures have four faces is because it's their destiny from God to look to the front and to create a supernatural realm of access that equals to an open door.
The reason for this is because the Lamb of God – Jesus Christ is near the creatures before the throne of God and He is the door through whom we go in and out (see Revelation 4:1a, Revelation 5:6 i.c.w. John 10:9).

Revelation 4:1a:
1a After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. …

Revelation 5:6:
6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

John 10:9:
9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

The number '4' is related to the Hebrew letter 'Daleth' which bears the same numerical value and is connected to the door.

The four living creatures have a similar characteristic as the four winds that God has assigned to the four corners of the earth. Every single wind of the four winds has its own power determined by God (see Zechariah 6:5; Revelation 7:1a).

Zechariah 6:5:
5 The angel answered me, “These are the four spirits (note: winds) of heaven, going out from standing in the presence of the Lord of the whole world.

Revelation 7:1a:
1a After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, …

This directs to the divine hope which means that God has hope for the future and good thoughts about us (see Ezekiel 1:10-12 i.c.w. Jeremiah 29:11)!

Ezekiel 1:10-12:
10 Their faces looked like this: Each of the four had the face of a human being, and on the right side each had the face of a lion, and on the left the face of an ox; each also had the face of an eagle.
11 Such were their faces. They each had two wings spreading out upward, each wing touching that of the creature on either side; and each had two other wings covering its body.
12 Each one went straight ahead. Wherever the spirit would go, they would go, without turning as they went.

Jeremiah 29:11:
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

God's Image Reflected By The For Living Creatures

The four faces of the four living creatures reflecting God's image because we as well are changed into the likeness of whatever we look upon (see 2 Corinthians 3:18).

2 Corinthians 3:18:
18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Another example for changing into the likeness of whatever we look upon is the story about the multiplication of the goats of Jacob while he was with his father-in-law Laban, and how he became rich by the power of a dream where an angel of God appeared and spoke to him.

While looking at the shaved rods before them in the watering troughs during their mating process, the goats birthed strong kid goats (see Genesis 30:37-41 i.c.w. Genesis 31:9-12).

Genesis 30:37-41:
37 Jacob, however, took fresh-cut branches from poplar, almond and plane trees and made white stripes on them by peeling the bark and exposing the white inner wood of the branches.
38 Then he placed the peeled branches in all the watering troughs, so that they would be directly in front of the flocks when they came to drink. When the flocks were in heat and came to drink, 39 they mated in front of the branches. And they bore young that were streaked or speckled or spotted.
40 Jacob set apart the young of the flock by themselves, but made the rest face the streaked and dark-colored animals that belonged to Laban. Thus he made separate flocks for himself and did not put them with Laban’s animals.
41 Whenever the stronger females were in heat, Jacob would place the branches in the troughs in front of the animals so they would mate near the branches, …

Genesis 31:9-12:
9 So God has taken away your father’s livestock and has given them to me.
10 “In breeding season I once had a dream in which I looked up and saw that the male goats mating with the flock were streaked, speckled or spotted.
11 The angel of God said to me in the dream, ‘Jacob.’ I answered, ‘Here I am.’
12 And he said, ‘Look up and see that all the male goats mating with the flock are streaked, speckled or spotted, for I have seen all that Laban has been doing to you.

The Radiant Face Of Moses

Another example for changing into the likeness of whatever we look upon is the story about Moses where he descended from Mount Sinai after he left the presence of God. It says, his face was shining or rather, it had horns (in the from of beams of light; see Exodus 34:29-30).

Exodus 34:29-30:
29 When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord.
30 When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him.

The Hebrew word which is used for 'shining/radiant' in this scripture is 'qāran', and it derives from the root word 'qärän' which means 'horn, horns' (partial excerpt from the Elberfelder Study Bible to the word 'shining/glancing-qāran', with the word key number 7328*, 7329).

The Four Living Creatures And The Four Seasons Of The Year

Just as the year has four seasons, the four heavenly creatures have four faces each, associated with a great wheel. The wheels carry the divine time scale or rather, God's consecrated times. In connection with this explanation, one can say that the greater space of time (note: the time of the year => represented by the celestial bodies of the creatures) is united with the smaller space of time (note: the feast times of God => represented by the wheels in their size, because these times are appointed times of God), so that it becomes the movement of the presence of God throughout the year, as the spirit of the heavenly creatures was in the wheels (see Ezekiel 1:20).

Ezekiel 1:20:
20 Wherever the spirit would go, they would go, and the wheels would rise along with them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.

The Direction And The Set Position Of The For Living Creatures

When studying about the four living creatures in the book of Ezekiel, we discover that they are arranged to the place of direction as well as to the place of position (see (Ezekiel 1:10; Ezekiel 10:14).

Ezekiel 1:10:
10 Their faces looked like this: Each of the four had the face of a human being, and on the right side each had the face of a lion, and on the left the face of an ox; each also had the face of an eagle.

Ezekiel 10:14:
14 Each of the cherubim had four faces: One face was that of a cherub, the second the face of a human being, the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.

In the book of Revelation the four living creatures are linked to the place of position (see Revelation 4:7).

Revelation 4:7:
7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle.

This shows us how important it is to know by the spirit where to go (direction), and at which time (position) we should move ahead with God.
Furthermore, the different arrangements of the four living creatures reveal the following characteristics of the presence of God:
  1. Ezekiel 1:10 => arrangement in directions for the purpose of the visitation of God
  2. Ezekiel 10,14 => arrangement in positions for the purpose of the judgment of God
  3. Revelation 4:7 => arrangement in positions for the purpose of the government of God
The key to see God's face is to have a pure heart (see Matthew 5:8). This is why David said in Psalm 27:8 that his heart was longing to see God.

Matthew 5:8:
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

The Heart And The Two Hebrew Letters

The heart is the place where we make decisions and where the seat of the mind (will, emotions and understanding) is.

The Hebrew word for 'heart' is 'lēb' and it is made up of two Hebrew letters which are the 'Lamed – (L)' and the 'Beth – (B)'.
It is therefore no coincidence that the last Hebrew letter in the book of Moses is a 'Lamed- (L)' and the first Hebrew letter in the first book of Moses is a 'Beth- (B)' which summarizes the Hebrew word for 'heart'.
This shows us how important it is to carry the Word of God in our hearts.
When we have it in our hearts, we are able to complete (finish) a time cycle correctly in order to begin a new time cycle confidently with the Lord (see Deuteronomy 11:18; 2 Kings 23:3; Jeremiah 31:33)!

Deuteronomy 11:18:
18 Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.

2 Kings 23:3:
3 The king stood by the pillar and renewed the covenant in the presence of the Lord – to follow the Lord and keep his commands, statutes and decrees with all his heart and all his soul, thus confirming the words of the covenant written in this book. Then all the people pledged themselves to the covenant.

Jeremiah 31:33:
33 “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

It is the order of the Word of God that secures our mind (will, emotions and understanding) in the center of the will of God, so that we are able to achieve our God-given goal.

Amen and Amen.

In His Wisdom,

Daniel Glimm
