Paradigm Shifts in History

Not since Columbus discovered the new world, and the earth once thought of as flat was found to be round, has such a paradigm shift occurred which rattled both the world and the Church – which is about to occur in our time!

There are many paradigm shifts that have occurred throughout history, but what is upon us will so shift the paradigm of so many things we took for granted; it will cause the Church to rethink and see things from God's perspective in many areas where we have believed what was the "popular belief" of the day.
A great example is when it was discovered that the earth was round. For centuries the Church of the day said the earth was flat. Anyone that thought otherwise, even scientists, were considered evil and banished from the Church. Centuries later the Church realized they were wrong on this.

Why is the Church often behind the world and not leading in many areas? When it was discovered that the earth was round, did this change what Jesus did on the Cross and our faith? Not at all, but fear of anything that seems to be different than what we have been told for so long (even assumed though wrong, even though it was alluded to in the Bible), causes a huge paradigm shift in peoples' lives.
When the Holy Spirit fell on the day of Pentecost and people were speaking in other tongues, this caused a huge paradigm shift in the Church which can still be felt in certain Christian circles today.

When airplanes were first created and the first flight occurred, it also shook the world. When man first landed on the moon there was a huge paradigm shift in how people saw our universe. Jesus was still King and our salvation was still secure, the only difference was that man landed on the moon.

When Israel became a nation in 1948, it caused a huge paradigm shift in the world and the Church. The world had to come to grips that Israel was no longer a Bible story they read to children but was now a modern day reality once again. This sent alarm bells throughout the world. The Church also had to come to grips with some of their doctrines that said that Israel no longer existed and the Church replaced Israel, which we know now is the farthest thing from the truth. When the Azusa Street Revival and the healing and prophetic movements occurred, it also shook the Church and its beliefs and how they saw the Word of God.

The Gospel does not change, but the generation we live in is different than the past generations, and the Church should have an answer for our faith in the midst of current world events and be able to communicate the Gospel in a way that they understand – and with the power of God confirming our words. Many are using a "Christianese" language, and the world has no idea what we are talking about.

A Great Harvest and Move of God!

We are entering a season of the biggest mind-bending paradigm shifts that humanity and Believers have ever experienced. Along with this will come another huge harvest! This season we are now entering is a season of accelerated revelation! It's also a season to press in for the next move of God!
The USA and much of the world is poised on the verge of another move of God! These moves seem to come and go in cycles. We are past due for another move! The world seems to be entering some of the most prophetic times in human history, as the news reports seem to be Bible prophecies coming to pass almost weekly; God has a move of God on His mind.

As we position ourselves and seek His face during this season, expect God to ignite fresh moves! But these moves might not look anything like past moves of God that we are conditioned to accept. God often does things differently in each move than those from the past seasons; therefore we have to really trust God or could miss the next moves. Often the last move persecutes the new move of God.

This coming move of God is meant to be a tsunami wave of God's glory that will start in the Church and then, like a forest fire, jump the fence and start to reach the lost in every nook and cranny of the earth.
When the move of God starts to hit the lost in secular arenas, it will be the greatest harvest of souls but also cause the greatest paradigm shift in the Church on "how and who" God can use and touch.

Historically, it starts in a Church as people come for weeks, months, or years, and who then hopefully spread it...
You will hear of some of the least likely people being saved and greatly used. In the '60s many of the youth saved were rejected by the Church because they still had the "look of their past" with the long hair and hippie music, etc.; but they had a passion for God despite the flaws in each move. What is coming might be so different from past moves that if we are not careful, we will judge it as not being from God.

Shifts in Biblical Days

In the Book of Acts, when the Gentiles were being saved in large numbers, there was a huge uproar which caused the Jerusalem Council to convene. Many did not believe God could be saving and filling, with the Holy Spirit, large numbers of Gentile Believers unless they first became circumcised and converted to Judaism.

It did not fit some of their paradigms on how, historically, God did things. They had to relook at the Scriptures and open their hearts to the new way God was moving among other people groups that were historically known as pagans.

Peter said in Acts 15:7-11, "And after there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, 'Brethren, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the Gospel and believe. And God, who knows the heart, testified to them, giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us; and He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith. Now therefore why do you put God to the test by placing upon the neck of the disciples a yoke which neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear? But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they also are.'"

As we experience the greatest of moves of God in human history, it will also challenge the Church's paradigm more than any other time in history. (Imagine when Israel gets their great move of God where the entire nation turns back to their Messiah – it might more than stir the Gentile Believers worldwide!) We will see salvations of people and nations, and we may simply not be able to believe they are really saved or not in the way or time period we expected it would occur.

When Paul, formerly Saul, received Jesus, most the disciples just could not believe it. It took an angelic visitation to get one disciple to believe it and muster up the courage to share with Paul, the greatest murderer of Believers in His day.

Are You Ready?

One example of this is an event occurring this summer in Helsinki, Finland. My wife and I will be speaking in an evangelistic series of meetings in the Olympic Stadium in the capital of Finland. It is one of the biggest events of our life. Who would have thought that Finland could be a model for the next move of God invading the Church, secular airwaves, the youth, and many areas of society in Finland? Many people in the U.S. may not even know where Finland is or have hardly heard anything out of this nation.
Often, God uses what we consider least or unknown to confound the wise. If God can showcase a national move of God on secular TV across a remote nation, what can God do here or in your nation?

Are you ready for some of the greatest moves of God in the earth's history, along with a huge paradigm shift that will challenge many things that we've accepted as "how God does things" because that is what we have been accustomed to up until now?
Between Pentecost 2014 and the end of 2015, I believe we are on the verge of some of the greatest moves of God, which must be released as a counter-balance to some of the earth-shaking but exciting events for those that know Him!

Now is the time to press in and receive what God has for you! He wants to download to you revelation, power, direction, purity, and use you to invade the darkness and bring many to the light of the Gospel in very unique ways in this next paradigm shift and move of God.
All of Heaven is waiting, and Earth groans for the manifestation of the true Sons and Daughters of God to arise!

Dear Overcomers,

what happens in the midst of our warfare is that the enemy tries to bring a defeatist attitude upon you. When difficulties arise, he tries to make you shrink back. But that’s not what we’re doing this month. The Lord says,
“A new fire, a new passion is rising!”

Where the enemy`s been hidden, he will now be seen!

While we were in Israel, it came out publicly how all of the tunnels were meant to bring about in Israel a massive disaster like 9/11 at Rosh Hashanah. The Lord says,
“I found what was going on underground and I upset and brought what was down underneath to the top. Where the enemy’s been hidden, he will now be seen!”

Don't be too hard on yourself!

Rebekah Faubion prophesied the following on Sunday:

“You are being too hard on yourself, in this situation. Even though you are in the midst of a storm where all of these voices are yelling at you … the only voice you need to listen to is MY voice! The only sound you have to hear is My sound. You are making it too hard! You are thinking too much! You are overdoing your situation. All I am asking you to do is raise your hands and say, ‘Here I am God … send me!’”

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20

Apostolic Reformation

Jesus is indeed worthy to be praised as the Word of God. John the Beloved writes, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning" (John 1:1-2).

In sending forth His Son, God the Father released the apostolic dimension of Heaven into the earth in the Person of His Son, the Word of God. Jesus Christ brought about apostolic reformation and the accomplishment of God's divinely-architected plan to restore mankind to Himself. Jesus preached peace and made one new man by uniting Jew and Gentile. In the accomplishment of the Cross, Christ laid the foundation for apostolic ministry in the earth; He is the Chief Cornerstone upon which God's household is built upon the foundations of the apostles and prophets (see Ephesians 2:14-22).

Christ, the Word, became the living Way to the Father. As our Apostle and High Priest the Lord brought about complete apostolic reconciliation between fallen mankind and Holy Father as the Mediator of the New Covenant of Grace. Through His obedient sacrifice the Lord re-aligned the destiny path of the whole world, demonstrating how apostolic ministry brings the Church into sovereign alignment with God's will.

As Mediator, Christ Jesus led us from the old covenant under Law into the new covenant under grace. Apostolic anointing brings about divinely orchestrated change by leading us into the new things of God. Jesus is Alpha and Omega – First and Last; the apostolic ministry is both "first" in the context of governmental order (see 1 Corinthians 12:28) and also "last" in that it exists to be the servant to all.

Apostolic Birthright – We Are All "Sent" Ones

Jesus was sent from the Father and pioneered and modelled a lifestyle that took Him to the Cross and beyond into resurrection glory so that we (the Bride of Christ) might also be sent! We live in a perpetual dispensation of apostolic grace in which Christ longs for His Church to receive a greater revelation of what it means to be a "sent one" in these days. Jesus yearns to release the apostolic dimension of His heart into the hearts of every saint around the world so that we can fulfil the Great Commission and hasten the return of the Lord.

The apostolic birthright of the Church was purchased at great cost by the Blood of Jesus Christ. It is because of Calvary that the Church has received power and authority to fulfil the Great Commission (or Cultural Mandate, see also Genesis 1:28.) The apostolic anointing is a "global" anointing, i.e. it reaches to the ends of the earth and embraces every Believer in its function of reaching out, winning souls, and discipling.
Jesus appointed and authorised twelve of His disciples to become apostles, i.e. "sent ones." Jesus, as Apostle, had given the original apostles a mission and commission which were apostolic in nature. Whilst the Great Commission was originally given specifically to the eleven apostles after Jesus' resurrection, it is also given generally to the Church.

We are all, therefore, apostolic in nature to some extent as we seek to obey the mandate to love people into the Kingdom of God and disciple the nations. We must clearly understand that whilst not everyone is called to be an apostle, all may be considered "apostolic" by dint of their spiritual DNA in Christ in as much as the entire Church is called to be involved in playing a role in execution of the Great Commission.

Apostolic Dimension

The Great Commission is not just about evangelism. Whilst evangelism is an important part of soul winning, in and of itself it cannot achieve the apostolic dimension to make disciples, i.e. to teach, preach, train, and ultimately raise up mature Believers. Discipleship is about following and emulating the Master, and therefore it is about living by the principles Christ lived by and also doing the works that Jesus did. New converts need to belong to churches and Holy Spirit-led movements. New churches and movements require elders to be ordained and godly leadership to be established, and in this we see further evidence of the apostolic nature of the Great Commission.

The original twelve apostles were appointed, anointed, and authorised as Christ's ambassadors to carry out the mission He had set before them (see Matthew 10:1). Every born-again Believer has inherited the blessing of adoption and access to the Father and has a part to play in the fulfilment of the Great Commission. The Great Commission is not just a job for missionaries; our Kingdom citizenship makes a command upon us to get involved in loving the nations into the arms of Almighty God! (See Matthew 22:37-39)

The apostolic dimension of Christ's grace strengthens the Church to enable her to be salt and light to the nations, pushing back and defeating darkness and advancing the Kingdom even during times of intense persecution. Because "the Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us" (John 1:14), the apostolic dimension of Christ's ministry causes acceleration of the things of God and increase and multiplication of God's dominion on the earth as we each testify to God's glory at work in our lives.

Apostolic Grace

Apostolic anointing releases much grace upon, to, and through the Church as we see in the Book of Acts (see Acts 4:33). The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ enables what was previously impossible to be made possible. It was a fresh outpouring of apostolic grace that transformed a quivering wreck of eleven men and propelled them into the place of miracle-working holy boldness and power with signs and wonders following their ministry on a daily basis with apostolic teaching, prayer, fellowship, and communion at the heart of the explosive growth of the New Testament Church.

God still longs to pour out more grace on His Church so that the multitudes can be won and the nations discipled for His glory, but He is waiting for us to appropriate this grace in a fresh wave of humble yet persistent and prevailing prayer and divinely-inspired action. We will see exponential increase in our God-given ministries when we understand this truth and prayerfully receive this blessing. (Photo via Flickr)

Apostolic "Draw"

Jesus said, "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day" (John 6:44). The saving grace of Christ acts like a magnet to metal drawing people from every tribe to the Father. Apostle Paul understood this principle when he wrote, "Through Him [Christ Jesus] we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for His name's sake" (Romans 1:5 [emphasis mine]).

We receive more grace so that we can release more grace, which draws the multitudes into the Kingdom as sons and heirs. True apostolic ministry produces spiritual sons and daughters – just look at our lives, which are an outflow of Jesus' universal apostolic ministry. This is good news!
Furthermore, as we receive fresh revelation of the many manifestations of grace, we can expect to see an increase of Kingdom fruitfulness in our lives because more of God's love is revealed in the exceptional outpouring of God's grace.

Apostolic Anointing

It is clear that Jesus transferred a portion of His mantle, i.e. His power and authority to His disciples when He sent them forth as apostles (see Luke 9:1-2), otherwise they would not have been able to complete the work He had entrusted to them to drive out demons, cure disease, pray for the sick, cleanse the leper, raise the dead, and preach the Kingdom. Furthermore, we read in Ephesians 4 that when the Lord ascended to Heaven He gave the full representation of Himself, i.e. His mantle, in five aspects or delegated "offices" to the Church, giving some (but not all) to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. Those who are transformed by the grace of God become those who transform culture.

Apostle Paul wrote to the Church at Rome, "I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift..." (Romans 1:11). We see a clear principle outlined from Scripture that the Lord releases His anointing on the earth through those whom He calls, sends, and releases with His grace and authority. Apostles and other five-fold ministers are called and sent and have a dimension of Christ's grace to impart spiritual gifts to the Church.
Christ's beautiful Spirit is not limited only to the five-fold ministries however. The Bible teaches us that the Spirit was given so that the Gospel message could be carried to the ends of the earth: "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8).

Whilst in historical context this Scripture points to the Spirit being given in the first instance to the apostles, the Bible also makes clear that "in the last days, God says, 'I will pour out My Spirit on all people'" (Acts 2:17). Since we may confidently say that the "last days" began with the ascension of Christ, then we are in the time frame of receiving the global outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Jesus taught that the Father loves to give the Spirit without measure to His children. We are therefore ALL recipients of the "sending" Holy Spirit who enables us to be an apostolic company of priestly ambassadors on the earth! Hallelujah!
