Jesus, Our Mentor And Teacher

Jesus is not only our Savior and Lord but also our Mentor and Teacher through His Holy Spirit. He is our King and our example. Even so, when Jesus came to earth, it took Him three and a half years to show His disciples how to walk in the supernatural with evidence through signs and wonders. While here, He was able to receive the encounter of miraculous interventions. Jesus did many healings and many miracles, in many different ways.

Sometimes Jesus would spit in the dirt, make mud, and place it on a blind man's eyes. Other times He would put His tongue upon them. It is written that He would even spit directly on the blind eyes. You do not see these same types of ministries today because it is not socially acceptable.
How did He know what to do in order for miracles to manifest? Jesus has shown us how. First, He prayed to the Father and whatever the Father told Him to do, Jesus did it. And it always worked, 100% of the time.

You Are Gifted, Whether You Are Aware Of It Or Not

Today we want to see 100% accuracy in the gifts of the Holy Spirit moving in the Body of Christ. The world needs to see the evidence that Jesus is alive and working through His Body, the Church. We are each members of the Body of Christ, and each of us has a function and purpose. We all have a gifting whether we are aware of it or not. The gift is there, even though it may lay dormant for a long time.

We need to be aware of how Jesus moved and walked: The things Jesus did were done according to the will of the Father. He said, "I do nothing of My own authority. I speak what I hear the Father say" (John 8:28). This is the true Christian way. His works while on earth were demonstrations of what we are to do. We may even perform greater works than He, according to John 14:12.

Many times Jesus would pray to find out what the Father had to say, and when Jesus prayed there were angels ascending and descending upon Him, giving Him instructions from Heaven above. Jesus prayed, "Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven" (Matthew 6:10). That means we need to find out first from Heaven what needs to be done. When we find out what it is that we are to do, nothing can stop us because the authority of His Word is working through us.

How The Authority Of God's Word Works Through Us: Angels Of Our Lord

When Jesus was born in a manger, there was an army raised up to find him. Every child two years old or under was to be slaughtered, because King Herod heard that a king was born, and Herod feared losing his position.
An angel appeared unto Joseph and Mary and warned them to leave the city, for King Herod sought the life of their newborn Son. They left the city and stayed away for a number of years. Then an angel appeared to them again and let them know that it was safe to return, for King Herod was dead. This was just the beginning of many encounters with angelic hosts in the ministry of Jesus Christ.

When Jesus stood before those who were to judge him, Pontius Pilate said to him, "Do You not know that I hold Your life in my hands? I can give You life or I can take it" (see John 19). Jesus replied that Pilate did not know what he was talking about. He knew He had thousands of angels at His disposal. Upon His word, the angels could have destroyed everything.

When Jesus walked into a city, people came from everywhere to seek Him. Jesus did not have to advertise His presence. People just showed up in the middle of nowhere because the angels of the Lord gathered them. Many times Jesus could not find a place to be alone so that He could seek the will of the Father. These encounters are important to us because they are examples of how our lives should be. We are not to worship or pray to angels, but they are there as ministering spirits for us.

Angels, His Ministering Spirits

Ministering spirits are angels sent to minister, not to us but for us. When you came into the Kingdom of God, an angel was appointed unto you. When you gave your life to Jesus Christ, it is recorded in the Gospels that an angel went before the face of God and reported your name to Him so that it could be written into the Lamb's Book of Life. These ministering spirits are waiting for you to yield unto the will of Jesus Christ, that He may dispatch them on your behalf to minister for you.

To each and every one of us there is at least one angel appointed as a guardian to watch over us. But there are more angels that are to be dispatched by the word of God. Jesus had thousands of angels at His disposal, and they ministered for Him. And He says, "Greater works you will do," in John 14:12.
If you have more than one angel, you may find something is working in your life that you truly could not have done on your own. You do not have the intellect to comprehend what God will do through you as He appoints an angel to minister for you. There are testimonials of people who knew they were supposed to die years ago. Their lives were spared for a purpose, by angels who were watching over them until their appointed time to be with the Lord.

How do we obtain these angels? How do we receive the appointment of these angels? If we do not pray to them or worship them, how do we get their assistance as promised to us in Hebrews 1:14 NKJV: "Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?"
It all begins with the impartation of a spiritual gift of the Holy Spirit. When you received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, there was a gift appointed unto you.

That gift is still there with you. If you look back and recall when you received the baptism of Jesus, not only of the water but the Spirit, according to Acts 1, then you will see that there was a spiritual gift given unto you. Maybe shortly after you received the Holy Spirit you prayed for somebody and they were healed. Maybe you had a dream and it came to pass. Maybe you had a vision or a word burning in you for somebody and you could find no relief until you were able to deliver that word.

Take a moment and think back. What area of spiritual encounter did your ministering spirit perform through you?
Angels are appointed by the Holy Spirit to minister in accordance with the spiritual gifts that have been imparted into you. For, you see, the angels are the ones who are doing the ministering for you. It is not your own willfulness or power that overcomes the natural so that you can walk in the supernatural. No! It is the angel of the Lord who was sent to do the work for you.

Your Appointed Angel Seeks To Do His Word

When Peter was in prison, the congregation was praying for his safe return. An angel went to the prison and kicked Peter to wake him up. The angel told him to get his things and then led him out of prison. Peter came to the house where they were praying for him and knocked on the door. A girl peeped out and saw Peter but did not let him in; instead she went to tell the others. But they replied that it could not be Peter at the door but it must be his angel. Why would they say such a thing?

It should be an effortless deed to walk in the supernatural. An angel is going about seeing to it that the word of God is fulfilled in your life. There are so many references in the Bible about angels. If you were to look up all of the encounters, you would surely be blessed to know that angels are still here ministering for us. An encounter with an angel will set you free.
When will your next encounter be?

Dear Saints on the Move:

As I shared Sunday morning during our Celebration Service, the Lord began a new initiative when we were in San Francisco last weekend. On Saturday morning, Dutch Sheets shared how the Lord woke him up at 5:15 AM and caused Acts 5 to come alive as a rhema word. When he mentioned how there needed to be a "5:15 MOVEMENT," I knew Holy Spirit was calling us to begin meeting at 5:15 AM to welcome His Glory to such a degree that even the shadows of His people would release healing. Acts 5:12-15 says,

"And through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. And they were all with one accord in Solomon's Porch. Yet none of the rest dared join them, but the people esteemed them highly. And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them."

Monday morning we gathered at 5:15 AM, and the presence of God met us so powerfully! The Lord prompted me to begin with Ephesians 5:13-14.

"But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: 'Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light!'"

We saw the procession of heaven along with the procession of earth, and declared that a new movement had begun! We asked for light to illuminate us. This is a month to radiate and become glorious. We asked to become sharp arrows to be shot forth. We cried out for light to come and purify God's people.
Anne Tate began to share how she saw a procession of oxen representing apostolic leaders laboring, moving, and treading out the grain of harvest. She decreed that we would become wise master builders, as humble as the ox, treading out what needs to be done and built in days ahead. We decreed that apostolic leaders be liberated, and that intercessors, prophets, teachers, watchman and miracle workers would begin to form an army here on earth. We declared the sound of that procession of earth, along with the procession of heaven, would now begin to accelerate.

As we prayed, we could see a procession coming in Jerusalem of the apostolic and prophetic kingdom gifts, a remnant arising in the nations, a synergy of prayers through the generations aligning, a triumphant people, the eagles of God, and prophetic watchers watching. In America, we saw a triumphant people beginning to arise in every state.

Light and Darkness Will Now War for Dominion!

"This will a day of separation, and light and darkness will no longer mingle! I am raising up a remnant that will complete moves of My Spirit that were begun in other seasons. I am sending processions of angels out of heaven. I am releasing revelation and wisdom from heaven. I will send new songs that will break old cycles. I have called you to align in this procession, in unity with heaven and earth. Hear the sound, align and move with Me. Just as a blossom, the Word that I have sent forth will begin to open the way.
"Press against the darkness. Redeem the time, for days are evil. I will illuminate you with My glory. The darkness will not be able to withstand the works that come from this illumination. These will become the greater works. Circle the cities of the earth and rebuild what needs to be rebuilt. Tear down the structures that have been built illegally in the earth. I will now reveal things that have never been seen. Labor, as they labored in the days of Nehemiah! Let My triumphant people now arise, half with swords and half to work until the harvest comes forth.
"This is an hour of shifting from Elijah to Elisha. What Elijah started, Elisha finished. Government will align, and prophets will align. The priesthood will come into order, and Jezebel will come down from the wall. This will cause My true remnant to align. This is the beginning of a new move of faith in the heart of My people.
"The hovering has begun! Hosts of heaven and hosts of earth are coming into a new alignment. When the apostles went out in a new order, the prophets aligned, the teachers taught, and the miracle workers were released. I am bringing the workers and watchers in until a new day dawns in this kingdom movement. Stand and observe, let My glory go before you, and then see how to move in line with My glory for this season."

We truly witnessed a historic new beginning today.  Every morning we will write a new chapter in the procession. We will write it, and we will capture it. This is a new chapter in the procession of the glory of God. We will circle things in the Lord's  procession and the invincible will fall.

A Heart of Pursuit

God is wanting to help churches that have a heart to pursue Him in this hour. He is making great efforts, reaching out to help His people.

There are adjustments, renovations, and changes He desires to make in congregations, so He is sending help through His prophets that have eyes to see and ears to hear. Sometimes it takes someone from the outside to get a better perspective of what is going on internally in a congregation.

Revelation 2:1-2.4:
To the angel of the Church of Ephesus write, "These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: 'I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil...Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.'"

Looking at the Churches addressed in the Book of Revelation, we see that each Church had issues to be dealt with. I love the way God deals with things because He always begins, not by listing what is wrong, but encouraging them with things that are right. It is at the end that He brings the tough stuff that the Churches need to deal with. We can also see this in the letters of Paul.

He begins with greetings, salutations, and encourages them in how great they are doing in various areas – then he speaks the hard truth that they need to hear and the adjustments that they need to make to keep them on the narrow path that properly represents the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Embrace The Prophetic Voice

So it is in this hour. Leaders of local congregations must wisely, prayerfully, and discerningly open themselves to legitimate exterior prophetic voices that have eyes to see what is going on in their congregations. Everything that can be shaken will be shaken. As we move into this new hour of the Church, those that will fully and wisely embrace the five-fold ministry will enjoy the fruit of living by God's scales and balances. All of the offices (apostle, prophet, pastor, teacher, and evangelist) bring the fullness of God's scales and balances to a congregation so that people may grow into the fullness and stature of Christ (see Ephesians 4:11-13).

God loves His Church. Therefore He brings help from the outside to sustain that which remains that it may grow rather than be taken away. There is cutting edge of the prophetic voice that brings a clear challenge to pastors, because so many times it goes against the grain of who they are or how they would typically view things.

Just as Jesus comes in forms that may offend our natural mind, we must be humble enough to recognize the form that He chooses to reveal Himself to us. What we can know for sure is that it is always for our good, to help us grow, to prune us as needed that we may flourish in the courts of His presence. As Paul said, pruning is not pleasant at the time, but later bears the fruit of righteousness in our lives. A wise man loves good, helpful correction. We must learn to love His pruning, because we know that it will help us dramatically.

Hebrews 12:11:
Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

If you are a pastor, I would encourage you to open your heart to pray that God would give you eyes to see and ears to hear what He is wanting to show and say to you. What adjustments need made? Maybe He will reveal these things directly to you, or maybe He will come to you in a form you may not expect that would be contrary to your normal culture. God knows how to shake us up and shake things up so that we won't find our confidence in anything other than Him.

Prospering Through Prophetic Release

In the Book of Ezra they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai and Zechariah. Here we see the power of the prophetic voice in action. The people heeded the prophets and they prospered in building.

Ezra 6:14:
So the elders of the Jews built, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they built and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel...

Local congregations represent people, the living stones, that God is building for a habitation of His presence. God is looking for local congregations that will commit to the prophetic preparations necessary to be sanctuaries of His presence.
The Holy Spirit cannot be a side item, rather central, as He is God manifested in the earth. He is Christ in us the hope of glory. As we welcome Him into our hearts and congregations, we welcome the nature of God in His holiness in our midst, because He is the "Holy" Spirit. The litmus test of whether we are welcoming the Holy Spirit is if we are rejecting that which is displeasing to God, profane and unholy. Jesus did. The fear of the Lord is the hatred of evil and sin (see Proverbs 8:13). God wants a pure people that are committed to His heart in purity. Anything less is settling for less than the best God has for us.
Welcome the Holy Spirit, ask the Lord for grace, wisdom, discernment, and His prophetic input into your life and congregation. Be honest, and see what God sees from the outside that you cannot see from the inside. As we yield our hearts to His presence, He is faithful to lead us in His ways, help us on our journey, and build up His Body for His glory.
