With this year’s verse from Revelation 21:5a for 2026, which says, ‘And he who sat upon the throne said, ‘Behold, I make all things new!’ we as the ecclesia are called to recognize the ‘new’ things that God is bringing forth for this time and the time to come.
This is preceded by a new spiritual realm that God has brought into existence through His Word in the form of revelatory truth, which is light (cf. Revelation 21:1).
Revelation 21:1:
1 Then I saw ‘a new heaven and a new earth,’ for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.
The New Spiritual Realm and the New Opened Scroll
We may understand that this process is therefore similar to a scroll being unrolled by God in the atmosphere, because everything is created through the Word of God and without the Word of God nothing is made (cf. Zechariah 5:1-2 i.c.w. John 1:3).
Zechariah 5:1-2:
1 I looked again, and there before me was a flying scroll.
2 He asked me, ‘What do you see?’ I answered, ‘I see a flying scroll, twenty cubits long and ten cubits wide.’
John 1:3:
3 Through him [Note: Word of God] all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
The following two Bible passages clearly illustrate the principle of God’s creation through His Word, even though they refer to a time when heaven has passed away (cf. Isaiah 34:4b; Revelation 21:1).
Isaiah 34:4b:
… 4b and the heavens rolled up like a scroll; …
Revelation 6:14a:
14a The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, …
Based on the dimensions of the flying scroll in Zechariah 5:1-2 and God’s statement in Revelation 21:1, the principle of creating a ‘consecrated space’ for God’s presence is revealed to us, because its size encompasses the dimensions of the porch of Solomon’s temple (cf. 1 Kings 6:3).
1 Kings 6:3:
3 The portico at the front of the main hall of the temple extended the width of the temple, that is twenty cubits, and projected ten cubits from the front of the temple.
As saints of the ecclesia, we are called to leave behind what God considers obsolete in order to enter into the earthly realm under His new realm of promise and the covering heaven that belongs to it, so that heaven and earth stand in symbiosis with the realm brought forth by God and allow His dominion to resonate on earth.
The New Heaven and the New Created by God
For us, this ‘new heaven’ means a new spiritual realm, brought about not by us but by God as the eternal King, in which we as His people see and hear new things that we are unable to perceive in the realm of the ‘old heaven’ on earth. This is like the statement of the prophet Isaiah, who prophesied God’s words about the new things God was doing, saying (cf. Isaiah 43:19): ‘For behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?’
This question from God through the prophet makes it clear that the people of the new were not aware of it. The failure to perceive the new is an indication that one is in an obsolete pattern of belief or under an ‘old heaven’ and is therefore unable to recognize the new things that God is doing on earth under the ‘new heaven’.
This requires a shift from one spiritual realm to a new spiritual realm brought forth by God through the power of His Word, so that the earth responds to the new transformation of the sons of God. This happens through the spiritual leadership of the saints in Christ, who align their lives with the Holy Spirit, revealing their transformation and, as a ‘new earth,’ carrying the resonance of God’s plan for this and the coming age (cf. Romans 8:19.21 i.c.w. 1 Corinthians 2:9).
Romans 8:19.21:
19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children [Note: sons] of God to be revealed. …
… 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children [Note: sons] of God. …
1 Corinthians 2:9:
9 However, as it is written: ‘What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived’ – the things God has prepared for those who love him – …
When we, as God’s people, more and more enter the ‘new heaven’ in love with YAHWEH as our Heavenly Father , we encounter the influence of the Holy Spirit in the form of a flying eagle in the structure of a mother animal, which lovingly vibrates through its gently moving wings to generate the necessary warmth so that we may boldly walk in the revelatory truth released by God, leading to a healthy separation of light and darkness.
It is a supernatural prophetic brooding of God over the truth of God’s Word within us, from which the spirit of prophecy emanates (cf. Genesis 1:1-2 i.c.w. Ephesians 5:26b; 2 Peter 1:19-21).
Ephesians 5:26b:
…, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, …
Genesis 1:1-2:
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
2 Peter 1:19-21:
19 We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things.
21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
The Hebrew word used for ‘hovering’ in Genesis 1:2 is ‘räḥap̅’ and means ‘gentle vibration’.
The Fluttering of the Eagle’s Wings and the Prophetic Nature of God
According to the Passion Bible translation, it encompasses the utmost care and affection of the mother eagle, who gently flutters her wings over her young, creating a gentle warmth (cf. Deuteronomy 32:11).
Deuteronomy 32:11:
… 11 like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers [Note: Hebrew: räḥap̅] over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them on its pinions.
The care of the prophetic nature of God includes bringing someone up from a worn-out (Note: in terms of not renewed) spiritual realm to a higher supernatural realm, like how the people of Israel were carried by God on His eagle’s wings from Egypt into His presence at His appointed time (cf. Exodus 19:4).
Exodus 19:4:
4 “You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. …”
We should recognize that it is no coincidence that the seer-apostle John saw the essence of the eagle before the throne of God as movement and not as a face like the others. It is God’s desire to prophetically bring forth His eternal plan in the respective temporary time in His people through the influence of His love from the prophetic on earth.
Revelation 4:7:
7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle.
This reveals the reasoning behind Paul’s statement to the saints in Corinth that they should eagerly desire the gift of prophecy, which is preceded by the love of God (Note: Greek ‘agapē’).
1 Corinthians 14:1:
1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy.
The love of our LORD is like the warmth of an eagle mother for her chicks, who continues to build the nest after they have hatched in order to secure their future. The prophetic nature of God is full of God’s faithfulness, care, and maternal comfort to persevere until everything is fulfilled.
This requires an understanding of the power of the living Word of God, which is a light that reveals the guidance of the Holy Spirit in our lives (cf. Psalm 119:105 i.c.w. Ecclesiastes 3:14).
Psalm 119:105:
105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
Ecclesiastes 3:14:
14 I know that everything God does will endure for ever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him.
It is the dynamic power of the living Word of God in the form of Jesus’ testimony that bears the characteristics of the flying eagle, which is the spirit of prophecy and contains the prophetic presence of the Holy Spirit, taking from Jesus Christ, who is one with the Father (cf. John 16:13-15).
John 16:13-15:
13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.
15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.’
The flight of the eagle with its wings spread wide points to the majesty of God’s eternal plans, which are connected with the movement of space and time, which in turn is related to light. This prophetic light is equivalent to the presence of God and the Lamb in the bride, which is the city complex of the heavenly Jerusalem, which carries within itself not a transitory light, but only the light of eternity (cf. Revelation 21:23).
Revelation 21:23:
23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
May this eternal light of God in the form of His prophetic word be spoken under the ‘new heaven’ and the ‘new earth’ beneath it through the bride of the Lamb, thereby establishing a new space of time. God, as the eternal ‘I AM’, wants to use this space to reveal Himself in His power or glory, while we as the ecclesia approach His return and live with our focus on this moment.
Amen and Amen.
In His Wisdom,
