The Grace Released by the One Who Dwelt in the Burning Bush

In connection with the Gregorian New Year 2026, whose annual numbers bear the numerical value of the name of God – ‘YAHWEH’ (Note: in the Hebrew alphabet, letters have a numerical value) – the LORD placed His emphasis on blessing the tribe of Joseph. The tribe of Joseph includes the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh and was generously blessed by Moses, who said in Deuteronomy 33:16, among other things, that the grace of the One who dwelt in the burning bush would come upon his head.

This blessing was accompanied by the proclamation of the abundance of blessings upon Joseph, namely, to be blessed with the most delicious things from heaven, the dew, the waters below, the most delicious things that the sun and the moon produce. And furthermore, to be blessed with the most delicious things from the ancient mountains and everlasting hills, as well as the most delicious things from the earth and its abundance (cf. Deuteronomy 33:13-16).

Deuteronomy 33:13-16:
13 About Joseph he said: ‘May the Lord bless his land with the precious dew from heaven above and with the deep waters that lie below; 14 with the best the sun brings forth and the finest the moon can yield; 15 with the choicest gifts of the ancient mountains and the fruitfulness of the everlasting hills; 16 with the best gifts of the earth and its fullness and the favour of him who dwelt in the burning bush. Let all these rest on the head of Joseph, on the brow of the prince among his brothers.

As we know, God is spirit, and it is His sovereign decision which element He uses to reveal His voice or something from within Himself (cf. John 4:24a).

John 4:24a:
24a God is spirit, …

He spoke to Moses in the middle of the desert through a burning bush that did not burn up while it was burning in the fire.

The Voice of God from the Burning Bush

God, with his consuming nature, which is fire, changed Moses’ focus for the time of the conversation, so that he turned his eyes away from the flock of his father-in-law Jethro and approached this bush, in which God was speaking to him as YAHWEH (cf. Exodus 3:1-5 i.c.w. Deuteronomy 4:24).

Exodus 3:1-5:
1 Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.
2 There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up.
3 So Moses thought, ‘I will go over and see this strange sight – why the bush does not burn up.’
4 When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, ‘Moses! Moses!’ And Moses said, ‘Here I am.’
5 ‘Do not come any closer,’ God said. ‘Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.’

Deuteronomy 4:24:
24 For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

We can learn from this that in times of God’s visitation, it is necessary that we do not allow ourselves to be overwhelmed by our surroundings of spiritual dryness or testing, but rather remain alert in spirit and focused on encountering God, who desires to speak to us in diverse and unified ways. It is the Lord’s goal and desire that we turn and draw near to His light and warmth or heat, as Moses did, in order to recognize the revelatory truth provided for us through His Word (cf. Psalm 36:9 i.c.w. Psalm 119:105).

Psalm 36:9:
9 For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

Psalm 119:105:
105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

The effect of the revelatory truth is like an earthquake in the desert of ‘Kadesh—the desert of the consecrated’, which encompasses our training phase of the spirit, where we reside and are tested (cf. Psalm 29:8 i.c.w. James 1:3-4).

Psalm 29:8:
8 The voice of the Lord shakes the desert; the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.

James 1:3-4:
… 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

We feel that the Holy Spirit is in the process of realigning the spiritual focus among His people, that is, the Ekklesia, which leads us to turn our gaze away from the matters entrusted to us for a time and turn to Him who speaks to us.

The Refocusing and the Moment of God’s Glory

This results in a new quality of fruitfulness of us that is connected to the ‘noble’ things that God gives. It is the harvest that generates a greater presence of His glory and is connected to the treasures that are hidden in Christ Jesus.

Furthermore, it is about a specific moment of His glory and a phase of development of His glorious presence. These are converging qualities of light that resemble the words of the prophet Isaiah, who prophesied to arise and become light, because the Son is approaching in His presence and the glory of the Father in the form of ‘I AM – YAHWEH’ is rising above it (cf. Isaiah 60:1).

Isaiah 60:1:
1 ‘Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. …’

This glory appears unexpectedly and suddenly amid apparent darkness in the world because the sons of God have entered relationship with the Son of God and are revealed in the fatherhood of God. As a result, those who do not know God—YAHWEH—also enter a process of rapprochement by entering the light of revelatory truth that is present before them. Among them will also be people who are in positions of leadership (cf. Isaiah 60:2-3).

Isaiah 60:2-3:
2 See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.
3 Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.

The revelation of God’s glory can be compared to the situation in which Rebekah watered the camels of Abraham’s servant Eliezer and was then blessed by him with jewelry (cf. Genesis 24:15-20.22).

Genesis 24:15-20.22:
15 Before he had finished praying, Rebekah came out with her jar on her shoulder. She was the daughter of Bethuel son of Milkah, who was the wife of Abraham’s brother Nahor.
16 The woman was very beautiful, a virgin; no man had ever slept with her. She went down to the spring, filled her jar and came up again.
17 The servant hurried to meet her and said, ‘Please give me a little water from your jar.’
18 ‘Drink, my lord,’ she said, and quickly lowered the jar to her hands and gave him a drink.
19 After she had given him a drink, she said, ‘I’ll draw water for your camels too, until they have had enough to drink.’
20 So she quickly emptied her jar into the trough, ran back to the well to draw more water, and drew enough for all his camels. …
22 When the camels had finished drinking, the man took out a gold nose ring weighing a beka and two gold bracelets weighing ten shekels.

Our activity in this glory goes hand in hand with the holiness of God and His righteous deeds, contributing to the shift in God’s affairs. These are expressed through the following and intervention of the ecclesia. Associated with this, the wisdom of God that has been held back throughout the ages is released by God Himself, the God of the ages or the Ancient of days, on earth.

This is a birthday as a day of birth amidst time, corresponding to the expression ‘the year of the LORD’s favor’ and ‘the day of vengeance of our God’ (cf. Deuteronomy 33:15 i.c.w. Daniel 12:3-4; Isaiah 61:2).

Deuteronomy 33:15:
… 15 with the choicest gifts of the ancient mountains and the fruitfulness of the everlasting hills; …

Daniel 12:3-4:
‘… 3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
4 But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.’

Isaiah 61:2:
.. 2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, …

Shining Through Wisdom

However, it is up to us as part of the ecclesia to allow ourselves, like Joseph, to be led by the Holy Spirit to the place where the society there indirectly calls us to shine with a greater measure of wisdom. This means that our vocabulary is changed by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, which also includes our transformation in the culture of the Kingdom of God.

There are believers who voluntarily remain in one of these subordinate cultures, attracted by the light of the Lord’s wisdom and knowledge, but they cannot understand the full context. It is like Joseph in Egypt, who recognized his brothers when they came to him, but they did not recognize him (cf. Genesis 42:7a-8).

Genesis 42:7a.8:
7a As soon as Joseph saw his brothers, he recognised them, but he pretended to be a stranger …
8 Although Joseph recognised his brothers, they did not recognise him.

A similar principle is evident in Jesus’ statement regarding speaking in parables to His disciples, letting them know that they had been given the ability to understand the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, while others had been denied this ability (cf. Matthew 13:10-13).

Matthew 13:10-13:
10 The disciples came to him and asked, ‘Why do you speak to the people in parables?’
11 He replied, ‘Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.
12 Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.
13 This is why I speak to them in parables: ‘Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. …’

This established light of God’s wisdom amid His ecclesia will cause His call to sound once again, calling the ecclesia into the sonship of Christ and the power of His counsel, to step into a new place and position herself there to give all glory to the God of Israel in the new movement (cf. Matthew 2:15).

Matthew 2:15:
… 15 where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet [cf. Hosea 11:1]: ‘Out of Egypt I called my son.’

Every gift from God is biblically associated with grace, in that the eternal ‘YAHWEH’ reveals himself as ‘I AM who I AM’ to whomever He wants to reveal Himself and to whomever He wants to speak, in order to send forth and save. This grace is also connected to the Word of God in the sense that God finds true humility in our hearts.

We are convinced that where genuine humility (Note: not false, self-righteous modesty, hypocrisy in the form of lip service without authentic actions) is found in us, the Spirit of God releases grace that leads to harvest and the long-awaited intervention of God, for which many have been praying for years.

Jesus encourages us, as His disciples, to have faith in times that are deeply unsettling and challenging, as is currently the case worldwide, by promising us that He will be with us in all the days to come. The time has come for us to humbly align ourselves before the LORD in deep trust, which is faith, with His consuming and holy nature this year, by approaching Him with focus (cf. John 11:40; Luke 18:7-8 i.c.w. James 4:6-8).

John 11:40:
40 Then Jesus said, ‘Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?’

Luke 18:7-8:
7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?
8 I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?’

James 4:6-8:
6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: ‘God opposes the proud but shows favour to the humble.’
7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

This year, many believers will have to decide whether they will count themselves among the disciples who submit to the Holy One of Israel in the future, let go of the old and set out to be sent forth, or whether they will belong to the numerically larger group of people who are witnesses to the movement of the glory of the ecclesia.

Amen and Amen.

In His Wisdom,
