The Biblical Month of Sivan

Sivan – The Month of Supernatural Wind and Fire

The biblical month of Sivan is the third month in the biblical calendar in the cycle of redemption.
It is linked to the time of giving of the first fruit from the wheat harvest (Note: God’s physical provision), the giving of the Torah (Note: God’s provision of revelation) and the giving of the Holy Spirit (Note: God’s provision of divine power and relationship) at Shavuot (cf. Exodus 19:1-3 i.c.w. Acts 2:1-4).

Exodus 19:1-3:
1 On the first day of the third month after the Israelites left Egypt – on that very day – they came to the Desert of Sinai.
2 After they set out from Rephidim, they entered the Desert of Sinai, and Israel camped there in the desert in front of the mountain.
3 Then Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain and said, “This is what you are to say to the descendants of Jacob and what you are to tell the people of Israel: …

Acts 2:1.4:
1 When the day of Pentecost (note: Shavuot) came, they were all together in one place. …
4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

This time is linked to the attributes of wind and fire (cf. Exodus 19:16-19 i.c.w. Acts 2:2-3).

Exodus 19:16-19:
16 On the morning of the third day there was thunder and lightning, with a thick cloud over the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast. Everyone in the camp trembled.
17 Then Moses led the people out of the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.
18 Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the Lord descended on it in fire. The smoke billowed up from it like smoke from a furnace, and the whole mountain (all the people) trembled violently.
19 As the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and the voice of God answered him (with thunder).

Acts 2:2-3:
2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.

Sivan – The Glancing Month

“Sivan” means “the glancing month”. It is the month that is aligned with Zebulun who was the 10'th son of Jacob and the sixth son who was born by Leah (“weary”).
Zebulun and the Habitation of the Holy Spirit
Zebulun means “habitation, flat.” and is connected with the recognition as a good divine gift (cf. Genesis 30:19-20).

Genesis 30:19-20:
19 And Leah conceived again, and bare Jacob the sixth son.
20 And Leah said, God has endued me with a good dowry; now will my husband dwell with me, because I have born him six sons: and she called his name Zebulun.

Because our body is a habitation of the Holy Spirit, who is the given gift of Jesus Christ to us, we can see a link to the blessing of Zebulun (cf. John i.c.w. 1 Corinthians 3:16.17b).

John 16:7:
7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

1 Corinthians 3:16.17b:
16 Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?
… 17b for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.

The “Harbor” and the “Set Sail” of Zebulun

It is as well no coincidence that Zebulun is blessed as a son by Jacob to be a harbor for “sailing ships” and as a tribe by Moses to be “a sailing ship that sets its sail” (cf. Genesis 49:13 i.c.w. Deuteronomy 33:18).

Genesis 49:13:
13 Zebulun will live by the seashore and become a haven for ships; his border will extend toward Zidon.

Deuteronomy 33:18:
18 About Zebulun he said: “Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out (note: to set sail), and you, Issachar, in your tents.

These blessings direct to the statement of Jesus to Nicodemus as He said: “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8)

The “harbor” and the “set sail” of Zebulun is a call for us today to live, move and receive by faith.
Without faith it is not possible to please God (cf. Hebrews 11:6).

Hebrews 11:6:
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

The “blowing of the wind” is linked to hear the spirit filled message of truth (Note: The word that proceeds from the mouth of God; cf. Matthew 4:4) that enables in order to grow in faith. The growing in faith is connected with getting active by faith which is similar to “setting the sail” of a sailing boat (cf. Romans 10:17 i.c.w. James 2:26).

Romans 10:17:
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

James 2:26:
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

The Characteristic/Value of Zebulun

The characteristic/value of Zebulun is to recognize where the treasures in the sea are. This is connected to understand how the economy of heaven works and where to get the profit for the kingdom of God (see Deuteronomy 33:18-19).

Deuteronomy 33:18-19:
18 And of Zebulun he said, Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out; and, Issachar, in your tents.
19 They shall call the people unto the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness: for they shall suck of the abundance of the seas, and of treasures hid in the sand.

Here it is important to first be aware of the presence of the crystal sea in the throne room, where the “economy” of eternity has its seat in adoration and worship. This is revealed for example, through the 24 elders who get “economically” active through the prophetic worship of the four living creatures. The bodies of the creatures are full of eyes and the elders leave their thrones in worship in order to lay down their crowns on the crystal sea before God, the king (see Revelation 4:8-11).

Revelation 4:8-11:
8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying: “ ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and is, and is to come.”
9 Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:
11 “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”

The individual anointing of Zebulun is to comprehend the throne room presence of YAHWEH – God in order to help saints to come into this place and to understand the principle of heavens economy that is rooted and anchored in celestial worship (cf. Genesis 49:13).

Genesis 49:13:
13 “Zebulun will live by the seashore and become a haven for ships; his border will extend toward Zidon.

The border of Zebulun is Zidon. The name “Zidon” means “catching fish” and it was the famous and oldest trading town of Phoenicia.
With this meaning of the name, the assigned geographical region and the calling of Zebulun, the words of Jesus Christ become apparent, who called His disciples to be fisher of men and who as well spoke about to do heavenly economy by making friends with the unrighteous Mammon (cf. Matthew 4:19 i.c.w. Luke 16:9).

Matthew 4:19:
19 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”

Luke 16:9:
9 I tell you, use worldly wealth (note: unrighteous Mammon) to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.

The ship of Zebulun and the haven is the message of the cross in order to bring rest and strength for the new day (cf. Matthew 24:14 i.c.w.1 Corinthians 1:18).

Matthew 24:14:
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

1 Corinthians 1:18:
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

For example, when some disciples who were fishermen by profession were called by Jesus Christ to follow Him, it is written that they left their ships in order to preach the good news (cf. Matthew 4:18-20 i.c.w. Matthew 10:7).

Matthew 4:18-20:
18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.

Matthew 10:7:
7 As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’

The Importance of Assignment

According to the Word of God assignments are important.

=> An assignment is a work project, task, or commitment that is first assigned to a person. The assignment may also be delegated for expediency and/or quality development reasons. (cf. 1 Chronicles 9:23; 1 Chronicles 16:4; 1 Chronicles 23:11)
An assignment serves as a boundary to protect the assigned person in his/her assignment and scope of duties.
Just as the ministry of angels comes only one after the other and has one task after the other, so it is with the assignment of saints.
If someone ignores God’s given assignment, the person gets into trouble that could have been avoided. <= (note: part excerpt from the “Prophet’s Dictionary” by Paula A. Price, Ph. D.; page 68)

The First Tribe Alignment as a Model

The first unit of the tribes of Israel is made up by the alignment of Judah, Issachar and Zebulun.
This connection is a model for the church because it is the first tribe alignment of the first unit from the army of Israel that is positioned at the east side of the tabernacle where the entrance of the tabernacle is (cf. Numbers 2:2-3.5.7.9).

Numbers 2:2-3.5.7.9:
2 “The Israelites are to camp around the tent of meeting some distance from it, each of them under their standard and holding the banners of their family.”
3 On the east, toward the sunrise, the divisions of the camp of Judah are to encamp under their standard. The leader of the people of Judah is Nahshon son of Amminadab. …
5 The tribe of Issachar will camp next to them. The leader of the people of Issachar is Nethanel son of Zuar. …
7 The tribe of Zebulun will be next. The leader of the people of Zebulun is Eliab son of Helon.
9 All the men assigned to the camp of Judah, according to their divisions, number 186,400. They will set out first.

This tribe alignment reveals to us that it is about:

  1. war/worship (Judah),
  2. timing (Issachar) and
  3. supply (Zebulun).
Because of their position they can be called “the front line tribes” and they are located in the east and could as well be called “sons of the womb of the morning.” (cf. Numbers 2:3-9 i.c.w. Psalm 110:3).

Numbers 2:3-9:
3 On the east, toward the sunrise, the divisions of the camp of Judah are to encamp under their standard. The leader of the people of Judah is Nahshon son of Amminadab.
4 His division numbers 74,600.
5 The tribe of Issachar will camp next to them. The leader of the people of Issachar is Nethanel son of Zuar.
6 His division numbers 54,400.
7 The tribe of Zebulun will be next. The leader of the people of Zebulun is Eliab son of Helon.
8 His division numbers 57,400.
9 All the men assigned to the camp of Judah, according to their divisions, number 186,400. They will set out first.

Psalm 110:3:
3 Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of your power (on the day you lead your forces), in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning, the dew of your youth will be yours.

The “First Three Stairs” and the Riches of Zebulun and Issachar

These three tribes establish the head of the tribes of Israel and could also be viewed as the “first three stairs” in the time cycle of God within the year cycle of redemption.

  1. Judah => the ability to bring new sound in order to break through “the old sound barrier” (Note: an expired form of worship) and to move ahead,
  2. Issachar => the ability to bring understanding about the secrets and times of God,
  3. Zebulun => the ability to bring supply
It were the tribes of Zebulun and Issachar who were called to bring in the riches in order to help to offer righteous sacrifices to the Lord from a place of vision (cf. Deuteronomy 33:18-19).

Deuteronomy 33:18-19:
18 About Zebulun he said: “Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out (international), and you, Issachar, in your tents (regional).
19 They will summon peoples to the mountain and there offer the sacrifices of the righteous; they will feast on the abundance of the seas, on the treasures hidden in the sand.”

The Polished Days within the Month of Sivan

As a month includes the alignment of days and weeks, so God wants to create the so called “polished days” where His presence or light can be reflected through our everyday life.
These polished days are similar to the golden shields of Solomon that are the shields of divine wisdom through faith (cf. 1 Kings 10:16-17).

1 Kings 10:16-17:
16 King Solomon made two hundred large shields of hammered gold; six hundred shekels of gold went into each shield.
17 He also made three hundred small shields of hammered gold, with three minas of gold in each shield. The king put them in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon.

It is needed that we lift our golden shields up into the “sun of righteousness” in order to bring divine righteousness and healing by applying of our faith (cf. Malachi 4:2).

Malachi 4:2:
2 But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves.

It is the reflection of God’s light that creates a new day of eternity in the earth realm.
God must have “a substance” that reflects His light.

Dullness is Taken Away

Dullness (note: unpolished) is taken away by God’s rubbing and His rubbing brings forth the personal harvest of provision (cf. Luke 6:1).

Luke 6:1:
1 One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and his disciples began to pick some heads of grain, rub them in their hands and eat the kernels.

It means that God longs to reflect His light through spirit filled faith which the Holy Spirit created before in us through God’s word so that His knowledge of His glory can be seen (cf. Habakkuk 2:14).

Habakkuk 2:14:
14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

The important elements to reflect God’s light is the presence of His Spirit, His water and His spoken word (cf. Ephesians 5:26).

Ephesians 5:26:
… 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, …

The process of polishing includes the movement of God’s living word in our inner man (re-look, swinging out of a deadlocked circumstance), so that our conscience/mind is renewed and in agreement with God’s will for this time (cf. Romans 12:2 i.c.w. Ephesians 4:23-24).

Romans 12:2:
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Ephesians 4:23-24:
… 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

The Created Window of Revelation by God

God longs for us that we see clearly through His created window of revelation. It is the revelation that He has for us at this time in order to begin to comprehend it with a new understanding.
For this we have to be ready to leave one status of understanding and allowing the Spirit of truth to expand our realm of understanding. God’s best comes at last (cf. John 2:7-10).

John 2:7-10:
7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.
8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so, 9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”

Serving Releases a New Call

Our willingness to serve brings a new call into our environment so that the Bridegroom moves in a new way. Our capacity of richness of faith creates the condition to reflect God’s revelatory plans by His spoken word (cf. Ephesians 6:16 i.c.w. 1 Kings 10:16-17a; 1 Maccabees 6:39).

Ephesians 6:16:
16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

1 Kings 10:16-17a:
16 King Solomon made two hundred large shields of hammered gold; six hundred shekels of gold went into each shield.
17a He also made three hundred small shields of hammered gold, with three minas of gold in each shield.

1 Maccabees 6:39:
39 Now when the sun shone upon the shields of gold and brass, the mountains glistered therewith, and shined like lamps of fire.

United Faith and the Release of God’s Powerful Sound and Fire

At the place where God recognizes united faith of His saints, He responds with the sound of a powerful wind (Note: Spirit) and with fire (Note: His innermost presence; cf. Acts 2:1-4).

Acts 2:1-4:
1 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.
2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.
4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues1 as the Spirit enabled them.

The Faith of God

Divine faith is something higher than the sensible thinking and anticipation because it is a firm assurance of things hoped for and the absence of doubt of things not seen (cf. Hebrews 11:1).

Hebrews 11:1:
1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

Amen and Amen.

In His Wisdom,
