When the Holy Spirit leads us as His people into a new time, it is possible that we will face an unexpected circumstance, similar to what Mary Magdalene experienced when she approached the tomb of Jesus and expected to find the body of Christ.
At this Mary wept and stooped down into the tomb (cf. John 20:11).

John 20:11:
11 Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb …

Tears that Lead to Joy and Harvest

Sometimes in life we find ourselves in situations that make us feel sad. Despite sadness, we should be aware that tears that have been sown lead to a joyful harvest one day (cf. Psalm 126:5).

Psalm 126:5:
5 Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.

Based on Mary’s actions with tear-filled eyes at the tomb, we can see that it is important not to get emotionally stuck in the midst of a transition, which is like her leaning or looking into the tomb of Jesus.

It was the power of Mary’s tears that helped her to begin to look into the supernatural realm and see two angels in white robes sitting in Jesus’ tomb. One angel sat at the head and the other angel at the feet where Jesus had previously lain. At this, the angels asked Mary why she was weeping, whereupon she revealed her intimate relationship with Jesus by referring to Him as her Lord (cf. John 20:12-13).

John 20:12-13:
… 12 and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.
13 They asked her, ‘Woman, why are you crying?’ ‘They have taken my Lord away,’ she said, ‘and I don’t know where they have put him.’

The Empty Tomb as a Sign of the Risen One and the Water

The location of the two angels in the empty tomb opened the space of Christ, the Risen One as Alpha, represented by the head, and Omega, represented by the feet, who is the one who is the time span of our life on earth (cf. Revelation 22:13 i.c.w. Deuteronomy 30:20a-b).

Revelation 22:13:
13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

Deuteronomy 30:20a-b:
… 20a-b and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life [Note: the expansion of your life], …

It is no coincidence that the name ‘Mary’ is of Hebrew origin and originally read ‘Miriam – מִרְיָם, whereby this name is written with an open ‘Mem’ and ends with a closed ‘Mem’. This fact reveals that it is about access and victorious completion, whereby the establishment of boundaries is important in order to stay in the ‘garden’ allotted by God and to enjoy His presence in it (cf. Genesis 2:8).

Genesis 2:8:
8 Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.

The Hebrew letter ‘Mem’ is associated with the ‘stirred water’.

It is significant that the Hebrew name ‘Miriam’ and the Hebrew word for ‘water – Majim’ have a ‘Mem’ at the beginning and at the end. In addition, the Hebrew word for ‘kingdom – mamlākāh’ begins with a double ‘Mem’.

In this, the realm of heaven and earth as well as spirit and soul is evident in the identity of God as the ‘Alpha’ and ‘Omega’ and the impact of His kingdom (Hebrew ‘mamlākāh’; cf. Revelation 1:8 i.c.w. Revelation 22:13).

Revelation 1:8:
8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Revelation 22:13:
13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

The Double Turning

At this point it is interesting to note that ‘Mary – Miriam’ turned twice to Christ in the garden near the tomb. This reflects the call to renew the mind and spirit that the apostle Paul spoke of in order to be able to correctly assess the processes in God’s eternal plan (cf. Ephesians 4:23-24).

Ephesians 4:23-24:
… 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Furthermore, it is no coincidence that Paul spoke of two spiritual presences required to recognize the LORD, which are the Spirit of wisdom and revelation (cf. Ephesians 1:17).

Ephesians 1:17:
17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

After ‘Mary – Miriam’ made her statement to the angels with her tear-stained eyes, she decided to turn around for the first time. Here she saw Jesus in a new light. At this point, Mary did not recognize Him and thought that He was the gardener.

Like the two angels, Jesus also asked Mary why she was weeping, whereupon she asked Him where the body was lying. Jesus then addressed ‘Mary – Miriam’ by her name in order to draw her out of the realm of the soul into the realm of the spirit, which is made clear by her second turning around, so that she now recognized Jesus as her teacher or master (cf. John 20:14-16 i.c.w. Revelation 1:10-12a-b).

John 20:14-16:
14 At this, she turned round and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realise that it was Jesus.
15 He asked her, ‘Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?’ Thinking he was the gardener, she said, ‘Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.’
16 Jesus said to her, ‘Mary.’ She turned towards him and cried out in Aramaic, ‘Rabboni!’ (which means ‘Teacher’).

Revelation 1:10-12a-b:
10 On the Lord’s Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet, 11 which said: ‘Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.’
12a-b I turned round to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw …

From this it follows that if the soul (Note: area in which the flesh is rooted) is not subordinate to the spirit, we do not properly recognize the visitation of God and discern the situation incorrectly.

Thus, the ‘wet eyes’ in this context symbolize seeing in a new way into the supernatural realm and perceiving what God wants to reveal (cf. 1 Corinthians 13:12 i.c.w. 2 Corinthians 3:18).

1 Corinthians 13:12:
12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

2 Corinthians 3:18:
18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

‘Dry eyes’, on the other hand, symbolize herein the earthly or soulish way of seeing without correctly recognizing the moment of the spirit.

The Spiritual Phase of Transition and Spiritual Sensitivity

In a spiritual phase of transition, it is necessary that we assess the situation with the right discernment in order to get to God’s predestined place.

Let us be spiritually sensitive to encounter the ‘untouched Word of God’ and allow it to go to God’s predestined higher place of government in order to be spiritually active with Christ from there (cf. John 20:17 i.c.w. Colossians 3:1-4; Revelation 4:1-2).

John 20:17:
17 Jesus said, ‘Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, “I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.”

Colossians 3:1-4:
1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Revelation 4:1-2:
1 After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I
had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, ‘Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.’
2 At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it.

The Spirit of God longs for the spiritual view and kingdom-filled perspective in us as saints to help us face new times.

Our perspective influences our actions, which corresponds to our faith. If we do not engage in the challenge to believe, even when we cannot understand circumstances, we do not see what is to be revealed to us in them.

It is therefore about our trust, which shows itself in faith, and this is what even some people around us are waiting for in order to understand the higher ways of God more deeply, in that the Lord is there where people do not suspect it.

Amen and Amen.

In His Wisdom,

Daniel Glimm

We read in Song of Songs 4:2, according to the testimony of the beloved or the bridegroom, that He describes the teeth of His bride, that is, the true ecclesia, as a flock of freshly sheared sheep coming out of the washing, all of which are in the measure of double and fruitfulness.

Song of Songs 4:2:
2 Your teeth are like a flock of sheep just shorn, coming up from the washing. Each has its twin; not one of them is alone.

In the past, the washing was in a pond or a shallow area of water or farmland to which cattle were driven for watering, washing and refreshment.
The Hebrew word for ‘watering place’ means ‘a bathing place for washing’.

The Teeth of the Bride

The teeth are located in the oral cavity, which is related to communication, so the emphasis is on letting go of the past, which the shorn wool represents, according to the bridegroom. Here it is crucial that we allow the power of the truth of the Word of God to renew our spirit and mind. This can be seen from the washing (cf. Ephesians 5:26b-27).

Ephesians 5:26b-27:
…, 26b cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

It is about complete spiritual agreement in the form of the implementation of God’s plan on earth, so that heaven on earth is recognized by people through the work of the ecclesia.

The meaning of ‘double’ in the form of ‘twins’ reveals the realm of casting off the shame of the past to stand in the power of God’s double inheritance (cf. Isaiah 61:7).

Isaiah 61:7:
7 Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.

The realization of God’s plan goes hand in hand with good fruits, which are the love (Note: gr. agape) of God, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (cf. Galatians 5:22-23).

Galatians 5:22-23:
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

The activity of the ecclesia involves an alignment of saints leading the way in a lifestyle of worship to the LORD and allowing His hand to transform them into a new structure through the presence of their spiritual unity.

The New Structure and the Right Spiritual Arrangement

The alignment involves a quality quantity of saints in the right spiritual arrangement.

The new structure is the glorious white warhorse bearing Jesus Christ in the facet of the eternal King as the Faithful and True One, the One unknown to the public, the Word of God, the King of kings and LORD of lords (cf. Revelation 19:11.12b.13b.16).

Revelation 19:11.12b.13b.16:
11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war.
… 12b He has a name written on him that no-one knows but he himself.
…, 13b and his name is the Word of God.
16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: King of kings and lord of lords.

As each individual sheep of the flock passes through the door of the truth of God’s Word, which is Jesus Christ and undergoes the cleansing of the water bath in the Word, it begins to network with the sheep that have already passed through. This is leading spiritually to the transformation of the flock as already mentioned into a white magnificent warhorse bearing Jesus Christ as the King of kings and LORD of lords (cf. Zechariah 10:3b-5).

Zechariah 10:3b-5:
…; 3b for the Lord Almighty will care for his flock, the people of Judah, and make them like a proud horse in battle.
4 From Judah will come the cornerstone, from him the tent peg, from him the battle-bow, from him every ruler.
5 Together they will be like warriors in battle trampling their enemy into the mud of the streets. They will fight because the Lord is with them, and they will put the enemy horsemen to shame.

Just as the teeth are surrounded by saliva in the mouth, the flock of God is surrounded by His voice, which is like the sound of many waters and leads to a higher spiritual maturity (cf. Ezekiel 1:24a i.c.w. Revelation 1:15b).

Ezekiel 1:24a:
24a When the creatures moved, I heard the sound of their wings, like the roar of rushing waters, like the voice of the Almighty [Note: Shaddai], …

Revelation 1:15b:
…, 15b and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.

The surrounding of the teeth with saliva in the mouth of His bride can also be seen as the realm of the dynamics of the testimony of Jesus (cf. Revelation 19:10e).

Revelation 19:10e:
‘… 10e For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.’

Furthermore, the teeth indicate saints who are diligently instructed by the wisdom of God, with the sheep representing full obedience to the voice of the LORD.

It is the goal of our LORD for us that we continue to go forward in Him as the Anointed One (Note: Christ).

Leading Out and Leading In

This means that He leads us as His flock out of the current abode of the Spirit and goes ahead of us to transform Himself into the ‘door’ with the aim of opening the new realm of the Spirit for us as His followers (cf. John 10:2-4).

John 10:2-4:
2 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.

As a result, the sheep are transformed as followers in His presence to bear Christ as the glorious warhorse as the eternal King in His reign as He establishes the righteousness of God through the living Word that proceeds from His mouth (cf. Revelation 19:15a).

Revelation 19:15a:
15a Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword …

In order for Christ to be represented in His eternal kingship according to the Word of God, we as saints must move in the unified structure of the white, splendored warhorse, which is the royal horse of Judah (Note: ‘praise, worship’), because Jesus Christ is the Lion of the tribe of Judah (cf. Revelation 5:5b).

Revelation 5:5b:
… 5b See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed.

The Glorious White Horse of Judah and the Eternal King

This movement within the structure of the white splendored horse of Judah involves a lifestyle of true worship and unity with the respective saints who are fully prepared to allow the Holy Spirit to transform them from a flock of sheep into this level of the magnificent horse.

It is about putting aside our own and previous ideas to carry and reflect Jesus Christ in the following facets:

  1. The white horse,
  2. Christ in faithfulness,
  3. Christ in truth,
  4. Christ as the righteous warrior,
  5. Christ as the one who is concealed,
  6. Christ as the Word of God,
  7. Christ as King of kings and Lord of lords (cf. Revelation 19:11-16).
Revelation 19:11-16:
11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war.
12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.
13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.
14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.
16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: king of kings and lord of lords.

These above facets signify for us as saints the walk in:

  1. worship according to the heavenly standards of God,
  2. faithfulness to Christ as the Word of God,
  3. truthfulness (Note: transparency) to Christ as the Word of God and to the saints,
  4. higher level of spiritual warfare, which includes cooperative, apostolic, spiritual warfare (Note: The Word of God comes out of the mouth of Christ and is not carried by Him at His waist or in His hand; cf. Revelation 19:15a i.c.w. Hebrews 4:12-13),
  5. the mystery of Christ in the shape of wisdom and knowledge hidden within Him (cf. Colossians 2:2-3),
  6. Christ as the living Word of God, which includes revelatory truth,
  7. the kingship and government of Christ (Note: dealing with authority in honour).
The hidden colour mixture, which results from Song of Songs 4:2, is composed of white as freshly shorn and washed sheep, and blue as alluvium in connection with water, which is also the colour scheme of the flag of Israel.

The Eyes of the Bridegroom

The bride of the beloved - bridegroom also bears a testimony about Him, which contains the same mixture of colours of the people of Israel and is associated with His eyes by the rivers of water, whereby the structure of doves wearing white plumage is mentioned (cf. Song of Songs 5:12).

Song of Songs 5:12:
12 His eyes are like doves by the water streams, washed in milk, mounted like jewels.

In this testimony of the bride about the view of the bridegroom, the togetherness comes to the fore, as it concerns the two eyes of her only beloved.

Furthermore, it is about the sight of the Spirit, because the eyes of the bridegroom are associated with the doves, which are based on the freshness and purity of the Word of God (cf. 1 Peter 2:2).

1 Peter 2:2:
2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, …

Here the two eye sockets have a special significance, revealing the realm of wisdom and knowledge hidden in Christ (cf. Colossians 2:2b-3).

Colossians 2:2b-3:
…, 2b in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

If we bring together the two testimonies from Song of Songs, we can see that it is about the area of the head, since the mouth as well as the eye sockets belong to the area of the head, which points us to the head of Christ, to whom we are to grow as members of the body of Christ (cf. Ephesians 4:15-16).

Ephesians 4:15-16:
15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.
16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

It is no coincidence at all as we know that Jesus Christ was crucified on the place of the skull - Golgotha and buried there (cf. John 19:17.41).

John 19:17.41:
17 Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha). …
41 At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no-one had ever been laid.

Thus, the testimony of the bridegroom and the bride encompasses the realm of Jesus’ victory and triumph through His death and resurrection. The realm of resurrection can also be described as the realm of the mouth, from which the words of the good news spring forth, even when we are in a hopeless situation (cf. 2 Kings 7:3.9).

2 Kings 7:3.9:
3 Now there were four men with leprosy at the entrance of the city gate. They said to each other, ‘Why stay here until we die? …
9 Then they said to each other, ‘What we’re doing is not right. This is a day of good news and we are keeping it to ourselves. If we wait until daylight, punishment will overtake us. Let’s go at once and report this to the royal palace.’

Worship according to the heavenly standards of God, our faithfulness to Christ as the Word of God, truthfulness in our life in Christ as the Word of God and to the saints, the higher level of spiritual warfare which includes cooperative, apostolic-spiritual warfare, and walking in the mysteries of Christ in the form of wisdom and knowledge hidden in Him, which includes Christ as the living Word of God revealing truth, and our desire for the kingship and reign of Christ through us, is our mandate in such a time as this.

Amen and Amen.

In His Wisdom,

Daniel Glimm

In Nehemiah 3:15 we can read about the restoration of the sixth gate of the city of Jerusalem, which was established by Shallun the son of Kol-Hozeh, who was the ruler of the district of Mizpah.

Nehemiah 3:15:
15 The Fountain Gate was repaired by Shallun son of Kol-Hozeh, ruler of the district of Mizpah. He rebuilt it, roofing it over and putting its doors and bolts and bars in place. He also repaired the wall of the Pool of Siloam, by the King’s Garden, as far as the steps going down from the City of David.

It is the gate within the twelve gates of the earthly Jerusalem, which was provided with a covering, as will be explained later.

We know that Jesus Christ, who came to us on earth as the Son of Man on behalf of the Heavenly Father, is the door for those who obediently follow His voice (cf. John 10:9).

John 10:9:
9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.

The Sixth Gate and its Restoration

Since the restoration of the fountain gate is the sixth gate and the number ‘6’ represents the human realm, we can use it to recognize God’s plan of redemption, which leads us into His revelatory provision. We connect this with the truth that at the time of the multiplication of the five barley loaves and two fish of a child, Jesus had the people camp in a place where there was plenty of grass (cf. John 6:9-11).

John 6:9-11:
9 ‘Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?’
10 Jesus said, ‘Make the people sit down.’ There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there).
11 Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.

Since grass is green and the throne of God is also surrounded by a greenish (Note: like an emerald) rainbow, we can recognize the reference to revelatory provision (cf. Revelation 4:3b).

Revelation 4:3b:
… 3b A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne.

In Hebrew, the ‘fountain gate’ is associated with the letter ‘Ayin’, which carries the numerical value ‘70’. The number ‘70’ is, among other things, a reference to ‘the end of oppression’, because the people of Israel returned to Israel from captivity in Babylon after 70 years (cf. Jeremiah 29:10-11).

Jeremiah 29:10-11:
10 This is what the Lord says: ‘When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfil my good promise to bring you back to this place.
11 For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

‘Ayin’ means ‘spring, well, fountain’ or ‘eye’ and is pictographically represented as such. Since spring water can also be described as living water, this is a reference to the Holy Spirit who, through the power of the testimony of Jesus, as the Spirit of prophecy, leads us as believers in Christ into the predestined truth of the Father (cf. Revelation 19:10e i.c.w. John 7:38-39a; John 16:13).

Revelation 19:10e:
‘… 10e For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.’

John 7:38-39a:
‘… 38 Whoever believes in me [Note: Jesus Christ], as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.’
39a By this he meant the Spirit, …

John 16:13:
13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

The Dynamic of the Prophetic Spirit and the Divine Order

To better understand the dynamic of the prophetic spirit and the divine order associated with it, which goes hand in hand with peace, it is beneficial to take a closer look at the establishment of the fountain gate through ‘Shallun’ (cf. 1 Corinthians 14:32-33a).

1 Corinthians 14:32-33a:
32 The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets.
33a For God is not a God of disorder but of peace – …

The name ‘Shallun’ in this context can be described as ‘a person who is rewarded by God or who is recompensed by God.’ (Note: The explanation of the name ‘Shallun’ is based on an explanation from the biblical dictionary of names by Dr. Abraham Meister with the word key number: 3091, 3093).

‘Shallun’ was the son of ‘Kol-Hozeh’, which can be translated as ‘all-seeing’ and his administrative district ‘Mizpah’ can be explained as ‘mountain height, rampart, watchtower’.

Thus through Shallun, the head of the district of Mizpah, the sonship in Christ and through his father Kol-Hozeh the eternal fatherhood of God becomes recognizable, which originates from God, who sees everything and keeps having an overview of everything.

If we allow the prophetic presence of God to work in our gatherings, that should be accompanied by experienced prophets and prophetesses, which is equivalent to the covering of the ‘fountain gate’ or also the ‘gate of the eye’, protection is guaranteed (cf. 1 Corinthians 14:29).

1 Corinthians 14:29:
29 Two or three prophets should speak, and the others [Note: prophets] should weigh carefully what is said.

It is especially advisable in times like these to practice spiritual hospitality toward those in the ecclesia who are ministering in the office of the prophet. This results in spiritual overview, fruit and freshness, which leads to spiritual revival and contributes to protection due to new orientation (cf. Matthew 10:41).

Matthew 10:41:
41 Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward.

The Boundary within the Construction Section of the Fountain Gate and the Glory of God

Since God has assigned boundaries to everyone among His people that must be respected, a revelatory reference is hidden in the construction section of the ‘fountain gate’ with its boundaries, which is described as ‘as far as the steps going down from the City of David.’
This boundary was connected to ‘the wall of the pool of Siloam/Siloah, by the King’s Garden.’
The name of the pool ‘Siloam/Siloah’ means ‘sending out, sending of water, messenger.’

Siloah was the pool where Jesus spat on the ground towards the man who was blind from birth and made a paste with His saliva, which He put on the blind man’s eyes and then told him to wash in the pool. After the blind man followed Jesus’ instructions, he was healed and was able to see (cf. John 9:6-7).

John 9:6-7:
6 After saying this, he spat on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes.
7 ‘Go,’ he told him, ‘wash in the Pool of Siloam’ (this word means ‘Sent’). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

In addition, the pond ‘Siloam/Siloah’ is associated with ‘Sukkot/Feast of Tabernacles.’ This biblical feast celebrates the glory of God and its increase.

=> Every year at Sukkot/the Feast of Tabernacles, the high priest performed a prophetic act.
He took water from the pool ‘Siloam/Siloah’ and brought it up to the temple to pour it out next to the altar.

This symbolized the call to God for the latter and former rain to fall on the land. The latter rain implies rainfall at the end of the rainy season, around March/April and is important for the development of the grains of the winter cereals. The former rain is usually in late October or early November, at the beginning of the rainy season, which lasts about six months, necessary for new sowing after the dry season of summer.

In this context, this act reveals to us the call to God to send His ‘spiritual rain’ in the present time, which is the outpouring of His Spirit that the prophet Joel prophesied about (cf. Joel 2:28-29).

Joel 2:28-29:
28 ‘And afterwards, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.
29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days. …’

The outpouring by the priest was carried out every day during the days of the Feast of Tabernacles.

On the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles, which was the great feast day, a large crowd accompanied the high priest during the prophetic act when he brought the water from the pool ‘Siloam/Siloah’ to the temple. The large crowd thus became a witness to the great outpouring.

And it was precisely at this point that Jesus stood in the place and spoke of the living water:

‘Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.
Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.’ John 7:37-38 <= (Note: The text set in ‘=>’ is based on a teaching from Robert Heidler – GZI to the feast of Sukkot.)

Based on this and the previous boundary within the construction phase of the fountain gate as mentioned, it reveals that it is God’s desire to touch us with His prophetic spirit. The result of this touch with revelation is that we go on our way with Christ Jesus with enlightened eyes of the heart, while the Lord releases a spiritual freshness (cf. Ephesians 1:17-18).

Ephesians 1:17-18:
17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, …

The Descending Angels and the Disciple Nathanael

This spiritual freshness is brought to us by angels (Note: winds) who descend upon Jesus Christ as the Son of Man (cf. John 1:51 i.c.w. Psalm 104:4; Hebrews 1:7).

John 1:51:
51 He then added, ‘Very truly I tell you [Note: Nathanael with the respective people], you will see “heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on” the Son of Man.’

Psalm 104:4:
4 He makes winds his messengers [Note: angels], flames of fire his servants.

Hebrews 1:7:
7 In speaking of the angels he says, ‘He makes his angels spirits, and his servants flames of fire.’

The descending angels carry dynamic revelations from the LORD, which are delivered to us through mature prophets/prophetesses, among others, who have a spiritual understanding about ‘Israel’. For it was the disciple Nathanael who was under ‘the shadow’ of the fig tree.

John 1:48:
48 ‘How do you know me?’ Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, ‘I saw you while you were still under the fig-tree before Philip called you.’

The fig tree is a representation of the people of Israel and is one of the most important fruit trees in Israel. It is no coincidence that the fig tree is indirectly mentioned by name in the creation account (cf. Genesis 3:7-8).

Genesis 3:7-8:
7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realised that they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

From the location of Nathanael under the fig tree, it is shown that he functioned in a position of spiritual authority and had a spiritual understanding of the position of Israel as well as its capital, Jerusalem similar like the judge and prophetess Deborah (cf. Judges 4:4-5).

Judges 4:4-5:
4 Now Deborah, a prophet, the wife of Lappidoth, was leading [Note: judging] Israel at that time.
5 She held court under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went up to her to have their disputes decided.

Nathanael also had a territorial understanding of the position of regions or cities in the spiritual realm of Israel. This is very clear by his statement to Philip, who let him know that nothing good could normally be expected from Nazareth because the inhabitants of the city had little faith in the Messiah, which was later confirmed (cf. John 1:45-46 i.c.w. Matthew 13:58).

John 1:45-46:
45 Philip found Nathanael and told him, ‘We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote – Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.’
46 ‘Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?’ Nathanael asked. ‘Come and see,’ said Philip.

Matthew 13:58:
58 And he [Note: Jesus] did not do many miracles there [Note: in Nazareth] because of their lack of faith.

Nathanael had a humble, sincere heart and, despite his knowledge of Nazareth, was willing to submit to the instruction of the revelatory truth that Philip brought him, so that Nathanael left his place under the fig tree and entered into the presence of the Son of God (cf. John 1:47-48).

John 1:47-48:
47 When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, ‘Here truly is an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.’
48 ‘How do you know me?’ Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, ‘I saw you while you were still under the fig-tree before Philip called you.’

It was therefore no coincidence that Jesus mentioned the fig tree to Nathanael in the context of calling him a true Israelite because, as already described, the fig tree is a symbol of the people of Israel.

Because of the spoken word of knowledge through Jesus, Nathanael perceived the authority of Jesus Christ in the spirit realm. It indicates to us how crucial his understanding was in recognizing Jesus as Rabbi as perfect authority in the Word of God, Son of God as perfect authority in true relationship with God the Father and King of Israel as perfect governing authority (cf. John 1:49).

John 1:49:
49 Then Nathanael declared, ‘Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel.’

The heart attitude of the disciple Nathanael and the descent of the angels lead us as the people of God deeper into the knowledge of God’s dominion, which is based on His love, i.e. the first love, and is accompanied by the presence of His glory (cf. 1 Corinthians 13:1-2 i.c.w. 1 Corinthians 2:7; 2 Corinthians 3:18).

1 Corinthians 13:1-2:
1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

1 Corinthians 2:7:
7 No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.

2 Corinthians 3:18:
18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

=> It is the mouth of the prophets that serves as an opening for the word sent forth by God to prophesy His plan to men.

When the prophecies sent forth by God are in transition from the invisible world to the visible world, the prophets serve as so-called conveyors of the eternal and spiritual things of heaven, destined for this world and carried on the wind of the Spirit (Note: Holy Spirit and God’s angels).

All of this is initiated and created through prophecy. This process is undergirded by the truth that Jesus Christ is the Word of God and His testimony is the Spirit of prophecy (cf. John 1:14; Revelation 19:10e). <= (Note: The text set in ‘=>’ is based on an explanation from the ‘Prophet’s Dictionary’ by Paula A. Price, Ph. D.; page 386, 387).

In this context, the significance of the covering of the fountain gate is revealed to us. Namely, that prophecy works on the basis of the truth of the Word of God and is released through the guidance of the Holy Spirit (cf. 2 Peter 1:19-21).

2 Peter 1:19-21:
19 We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things.
21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

When we live in the mutual dynamic of the Word of God and prophecy, it leads us to grow together as the people of God in spiritual unity resulting from the understanding of the tribes of Israel, in mutual respect in Christ, who is the door, and thereby being aware of our positions within the ecclesia.

For it is the tribes of Israel who will become pearl gates in the bride or wife of the Lamb [Note: structure of first love], which is a glorious city. Over each pearl gate is placed an assigned angel to the tribe (cf. Revelation 21:9-12).

Revelation 21:9-12:
9 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, ‘Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.’
10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.
11 It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal.
12 It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel.

It is the spiritual walk of the ecclesia in this biblical order that helps to activate the prophetic power of God and correct the false prophetic influence in our day (cf. Numbers 24:1-2).

Numbers 24:1-2:
1 Now when Balaam saw that it pleased the Lord to bless Israel, he did not resort to divination as at other times, but turned his face towards the wilderness.
2 When Balaam looked out and saw Israel encamped tribe by tribe, the Spirit of God came on him …

We as ecclesi might continue to reach out for this true and biblical understanding, which confronts Greek thinking and influences of religious legalism and leads to a right orientation in these days.

Amen and Amen.
