Since we are in the biblical time frame of Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles, which goes hand in hand with the intensification of God’s glory, for us as God’s people, I would like to address the first sign of glory that Jesus did, where He turned water into wine (cf. John 2:1-11).

John 2:1-11:
1 On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there,
2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.
3 When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”
4 “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”
5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.
7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.
8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so, 9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”
11 What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

The Feast of Sukkot and the Gift of Oil and Wine

The feast of Sukkot is related, among other things, to the giving of oil and wine. This offering is preceded by the phase of harvesting and pressing. It is the process of pressing that passes from a solid substance to a liquid substance. This points to more influence that we receive through His grace and the presence of His glory.

It was no coincidence that Jesus chose the transformation of water to wine in the time frame of the first love and covenant between man and woman, because in it there is a great mystery associated with Christ and the ekklēsia – as the Church (cf. Ephesians 5:31-32).

Ephesians 5:31-32:
31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” (cf. Genesis 2:24)
32 This is a profound mystery – but I am talking about Christ and the church.

According to Revelation 2:1.4-5a, Ephesus was the first addressed church, which should be watchful to abide in the first love in Christ Jesus and not fall apart from it.

Revelation 2:1.4-5a:
1 “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands. …
3 You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.
4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first.
5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.

This reveals to us that Jesus’ love for us was reflected at Cana during a covenant related to marriage between a man and a woman and completed by His death on the cross at Calvary to enable us to walk in the glorious freedom of His Sonship.

At the height of the place of the skull, Jesus shed His blood as ‘wine’ for us. This is the greatest expression of God’s love toward us human beings (cf. John 3:16 i.c.w. John 6:48-58; John 19:33-34).

John 3:16:
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 6:48-58:
48 I am the bread of life.
49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died.
50 But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die.
51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
52 Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.
55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.
56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.
57 Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.
58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”

John 19:33-34:
33 But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs.
34 Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.

The Transformation of Water into Wine and the Three Appointed Biblical Feasts by God

This transformation of water into pleasant-tasting wine points to a higher dimension of His glory, which is reflected in the feast of Sukkot.

When we consider the glory of God in its fullness, it is related to the word ‘heaviness’, or the internal human organ of the ‘liver’. The liver is the heaviest internal organ in the human body and is called ‘kābēd’ in Hebrew. This Hebrew word is closely related to the heavy density of God’s glory or honor, which is called ‘kābôd’ (cf. Genesis 45:13; Exodus 16:7; Psalm 7:5).

=> The term ‘glory’ describes the perceptible presence, cooperating power and splendor manifested by the appearance of God or His Holy Spirit. It is the presence of the Father, His Son or His Holy Spirit.

The glory was more than a shining appearance. It also includes a testimony of the LORD’s favor and grace. The glory was a sign of His splendor as well as receiving the sacrifices of praise from the people who worshiped God in unity.

The Hebrew word for glory is ‘kābôd’ or ‘kavod’. The Greek word is ‘doxa’ from which we got the term ‘doxology’ (Note: glorification of God).

Glory includes in terms of its appearance, honor, prestige, power and blessing. Regarding all definitions of glory, its goal is to make or establish someone as an important person ‘with weight’ in the spiritual realm.

The presence of God brings automatic increase in every area because earthly wealth and prosperity have their seat in the spiritual realm. Glory is an automatic repository of anointing. <= (Note: The text in ‘=>’ is based on a part excerpt from the ‘Prophet’s Dictionary’ by Paula A. Price, Ph. D.; page 237.)

So the first wine of the wedding at Cana can be equated with the time frame of Passover. Then the filling of the jars to the brim with water is equating to the time frame of Shavuot/Pentecost in which the LORD poured out His Spirit, among other things.

The transformed water into wine, brought to the Master of the Feast on Jesus’ behalf, corresponds to the feast of Sukkot which is associated with the increase of the glory of God.

In this context, I consider it as no coincidence that the event of the wedding at Cana begins with the phrase ‘on the third day’, which can be seen in connection with the resurrection of Jesus Christ and His finished work, pouring out His blood and then His Spirit in order to intensify His glory in the lives of those who believe in Him.

It is wonderful to notice here that the Hebrew word for ‘wine’ begins twice with the Hebrew letter ‘Jôd’ and is ‘jajin’.

The spiritual structure of the Kingdom of God includes the element of water, which is evident from the Hebrew word ‘mamlākāh’ used for the term ‘kingdom’ in the Word of God.

In this context, it is revealed that before the throne of God, which is the center of the LORD’s government, is the water of the crystal sea which is affirming (cf. Revelation 4:6a).

Revelation 4:6a:
6a Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal. …

The Hebrew word ‘mamlākāh – kingdom’ begins twice with the Hebrew letter ‘Mem’, which is connected among other things with ‘water’ as well as carries the numerical value ‘40’. The Hebrew word for ‘water’ used in the Word of God is ‘Majim’ and is used exclusively in the plural form. It begins with the Hebrew letter ‘Mem’ and concludes with it at the same time. (Note: part excerpt from the Elberfelder Study Bible on the word ‘mamlākāh – kingdom’ with the word key number 4542).

Thus, the end of the wine first distributed from the wedding at Cana, the subsequent filling of the six jars with water, and their transformation into wine points to the various spiritual dimensions of God’s presence. These appear with His three appointed feast cycles (cf. Exodus 23:14-17), which are:

  1. Passover
  2. Shavuot/Pentecost and
  3. Sukkot, the feast of Tabernacles.
These different time phases of the transformation at the wedding at Cana carry in themselves the ‘double’. This is indicated by the preceding double Hebrew letter ‘Jôd’ which is connected with the dimension of ‘wine’ and the preceding double Hebrew letter ‘Mem’ which is used for the dimension of ‘water’.

The double stands among other things in connection with acceleration and the divine strength to accomplish an old time and to enter into a new time of God’s blessing (cf. Genesis 41:32 i.c.w. Isaiah 61:7).

Genesis 41:32:
32 The reason the dream was given to Pharaoh in two forms is that the matter has been firmly decided by God, and God will do it soon.

Isaiah 61:7:
7 Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.

The Spiritual Realm of the ‘West’

These two Hebrew letters also carry in themselves a spiritual realm, which is the ‘west’, because these result in the Hebrew word ‘jām’, which is used for ‘west’ but also means ‘sea, lake, stream’.

Furthermore, the word is used as an image for the ‘greatness’ and ‘vastness’ as well as the ‘uncountable multitude’ in the Word of God. (Note: part excerpt from the Elberfelder Study Bible concerning the word ‘jām – west’ with the word key number 3297).

=> The west is the direction for the setting sun. The setting sun reveals an end to things, a day or a period of time.

The west passes to darkness while the east passes to light.

The most commonly used Hebrew word for ‘west’ is ‘jām’ and indicates the direction of water because west is associated with large bodies of water such as the seas or oceans.

Another Hebrew word for ‘west’ is ‘’ārab’ from which comes the same root word that also means ‘to join, interweave’ or ‘to act in reference to laying an ambush’. <= (Note: The text placed in ‘=>’ is a part excerpt from the ‘Prophet’s Dictionary’ by Paula A. Price, Ph. D.; page 582.)

Thus, the first sign of Jesus’ glory, which He performed before God at the time of the covenant (Note: marriage) between man and woman, and which was accompanied by the end of a ‘wine phase’, is a call of the LORD to enter into a deeper level of His presence.

This presence is connected to the area of the Holy of Holies in the tabernacle, which is located in the west. It is the Holy of Holies, which goes hand in hand with the ‘darkness’ of the LORD, since no usual light shines there (cf. 1 Kings 8:12).

1 Kings 8:12:
12 Then Solomon said, “The Lord has said that he would dwell in a dark cloud; …”

This divine ‘dark realm’ is related to the face of God in the facet of the eagle, as well as the influence of the power of God’s ‘oracles’, Urim and Thummim. Urim means lights and represents revelatory truth and Thummim means justice and represents righteousness which both encompass the work of the Holy Spirit (cf. Exodus 28:30 i.c.w. John 16:7-8.13).

Exodus 28:30:
30 Also put the Urim and the Thummim in the breastpiece, so they may be over Aaron’s heart whenever he enters the presence of the Lord. Thus Aaron will always bear the means of making decisions for the Israelites over his heart before the Lord.

John 16:7-8.13:
7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: …
13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

The Realm of the Flying Eagle

Everyone who wants to dwell in this realm of the face of the eagle, which is the so-called ‘flying realm’, is required to live as walking in undivided trust toward God (cf. Revelation 4:7d i.c.w. Isaiah 40:31).

Revelation 4:7d:
… 7d the fourth was like a flying eagle.

Isaiah 40:31:
… 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

The presence of the flapping of the flying eagle’s wings is accompanied by the spirit of wisdom and knowledge, that are connected to the mystery of God, which is the Anointed One – Christ. In Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (cf. Colossians 2:2-3).

Colossians 2:2-3:
2 My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

And also here it is no coincidence at all that with the west is linked the location of the camps of the tribes of Ephraim, Manasseh and Benjamin, which carry within them the biblical time frame of autumn.

It is the tribe of Ephraim that is connected with the seventh biblical month ‘Tishri|Etanim’ in the cycle of redemption and carries within itself the feasts Rosh ha-Shanah – biblical New Year in the cycle of God’s blessing, Yom Kippur – the great Day of Atonement, Sukkot – the Feast of Tabernacles.

Sukkot – the Feast of Tabernacles is related to the visitation of God in the form of the increase of His glory (cf. 1 Kings 8:2.10-11).

1 Kings 8:2.10-11:
2 All the Israelites came together to King Solomon at the time of the festival in the month of Ethanim, the seventh month. …
10 When the priests withdrew from the Holy Place, the cloud filled the temple of the Lord.
11 And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled his temple.

Since Jesus did His first sign of glory in ‘Cana’, which translates as ‘reed’ and the time frame of Sukkot is associated with the giving of oil and wine, this is an encouraging indication to have firm confidence.

We are assigned to have this confidence that the LORD will increase in our lives with His glory and will not break us, but rather will pour His glorious presence into us even where there are wounds from the past (cf. Isaiah 42:3 i.c.w. Luke 10:34).

Isaiah 42:3:
3 A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; …

Luke 10:34:
34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him.
Let us take hold of this glory, which Jesus worked as the first sign, deeper and deeper as to the temporal context of keeping God’s appointments (Note: biblical feasts set for all generations) to experience His greatness and delightful grace.

It is this increase of God’s glory in our lives that glorifies the King and strengthens His ekklēsia in all circumstances in such a way that people who pay attention to us and observe our walk in Christ are reached by God’s love.

Amen and Amen.

In His Wisdom,

Daniel Glimm

As it is of high importance for us as God’s people to understand how to secure Jesus’ kingship within a region – especially at this time, we can take a deeper look at the scripture of Mark 3.

Jesus was in the assembly of believers (Note: synagogue) on the seventh day of the week, namely the day of intimate fellowship with the Father (Note: Sabbath) and there He met a man with a withered hand.

The Restoration of the Withered Hand

This circumstance reveals to us that it is in the interest of Jesus to restore the authority of His church – ekklēsia on earth where it was receding due to various influences, e.g. lack of knowledge, lack of faith, … (cf. Mark 3:1-5).

Mark 3:1-5:
1 Another time Jesus went into the synagogue, and a man with a shriveled hand was there.
2 Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath.
3 Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Stand up in front of everyone.”
4 Then Jesus asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.
5 He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored.

For this, Jesus chose the place of the synagogue on a Sabbath, over which He is the Lord (cf. Luke 6,5).

Luke 6:5:
5 Then Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”

We can say that the Sabbath is the day of fatherhood and sonship, which carries different dimensions of authority, since Adam was created on the sixth day and entered into rest with God on the seventh.

Furthermore, the Word of God reveals to us that Jesus Christ also bears the title of the ‘last Adam’ (cf. Genesis 1:27.31; Genesis 2:2-3; 1 Corinthians 15:45).

Genesis 1:27.31:
27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. …
31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning – the sixth day.

Genesis 2:2-3:
2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.
3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

1 Corinthians 15:45:
45 So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being” (cf. Genesis 2:7); the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.

The authority of the fatherhood and sonship of God is among other things, the commanding power of God and obedience to Him in the form of being ‘sent’ in humble servant hood (cf. John 3:16).

John 3:16-17:
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

The Work of the Holy Spirit and the Order of the Word of God

The restoration of the withered hand of the man in the synagogue makes it clear that it is necessary for us as believers in Christ Jesus to move forward in the Holy Spirit in the order of the Word of God and its standard.

The work of the Holy Spirit cannot be considered independent of the order of the Word of God, since He is the Spirit of truth who unlocks for us the truth of the Word of God from the realm of the Father and Son (cf. John 16:7.13-15).

John 16:7.13-15:
7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. …
13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.
15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”

In order to go forward and act in authority as Son of God in Christ Jesus, it is necessary for us to be active in faith on earth with two healthy hands (Note: 2 x 5= 10) as a spirit man by His grace (cf. James 2:17).

James 2:17:
17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

We can consider the one healthy hand of the man in the synagogue as the realm of the spirit and the withered hand (Note: withered by the religious spirit) as the realm of authority in the order of the Word of God (Note: 10 = ten words/commands). Both realms if healthy should be in symbiosis with each other.

The numerical value ‘10’ is related to the Hebrew letter ‘Yod’ which means ‘hand’ that is active from the spirit realm. After Jesus healed the man with the withered hand and restored the realm of the ‘hand of God’ in the synagogue which is here representative of the Ekklēsia in modern times, there was a confrontation with the ‘religious spirit’. This evil spirit was active through people who did not want to submit to the will of God.

The Influence of the ‘Religious Spirit’

=> It is in the interest of the so-called ‘religious spirit’ to undermine and question the authority in the fellowship of saints in order to prevent them from acting in accordance with the principles of the Word of God in the freedom of the Holy Spirit.

The religious spirit is a demonic power that wants to forcefully stop the process of change in the ekklēsia. This action or attack is perpetrated by this demonic influence throughout the ages.

The religious spirit is based on an organizational system of doctrine with a profane pattern of behavior.

This means that the behavior has to demonstrate a proper form of worship.

Doctrines of a demonic nature rob people of their freedom to worship the holy God in purity by establishing institutional rules and regulations about worship.

The religious spirit especially resists apostolic and prophetic anointing because demons hate God-breathed revelation and His pioneering nature for the ekklēsia. They resist the gifts in the Body of Christ that bring revelatory freedom to the members of the Body.

They seek to stone the revelations of the apostles and prophets because their revelatory words establish God’s foundation in the church – the ekklēsia for this age.

1 Corinthians 12:28 establishes an order of governing gifts in the ekklēsia for victory in the world. This order is apostles and prophets.

Religious spirits try to oppose the order of God as well as His initiated change.

It is the spirit of God that helps the thoughts and thought processes of people to implement change on earth. But it is the carnal mind of man that opposes this and is at enmity with God (cf. Galatians 5:17).

Galatians 5:17:
17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.

Religious spirits try to block strategic thinking for the future. They can get people into a routine, or a rut, so that they do not want to go into a change of today’s methods associated with victory.

In the New Testament, the disciples of the Lord were to have a revelation of what He is like, who they are, and who their enemies were.

Through Jesus Christ, the Pharisees or Scribes were given the choice of either opposing the divine nature of the Son of God or aligning themselves with Jesus. It was incumbent upon them to either keep the rules of worship in place where behavioral changes in worship occurred or to begin to worship in spirit and in truth. <= (Note: The text set in “=>” is a synonymous part excerpt from the book ‘God's Now Time for Your Life’, pages 113-116 by Chuck D. Pierce, ISBN: 0-8307-3834-7)

The Galilean Sea and the ‘Seven Regions’

It is said that after the above-mentioned healing, Jesus went with His disciples to the Sea of Galilee and a large crowd of people from seven regions followed Him (cf. Mark 3:7-8).

Mark 3:7-8:
7 Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the lake, and a large crowd from Galilee followed.
8 When they heard about all he was doing, many people came to him from Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, and the regions across the Jordan and around Tyre and Sidon.

Here it was in Jesus’ interest to stay on a small boat on the Sea of Galilee, indicating the need for humility and simplicity in order to act according to the heart of God from His throne room presence (cf. Mark 3:9a i.c.w. 1 Peter 5:6; Revelation 4:6a).

Mark 3:9a:
9 Because of the crowd he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him, …

1 Peter 5:6:
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

Revelation 4:6a:
6a Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal. …

The people from the seven regions are representative of regions that submit to Christ’s authority in order to receive Jesus’ governmental instruction in the apostolic center of God’s word in the form of revelatory truth for this time and the time to come.

The purpose of this is that the regions or countries can be governed by the grace of God according to the standard of His righteousness.

The truth that Jesus spoke from the ‘small boat’ on the Sea of Galilee can imply to us the revelatory truth of His priestly and kingly dominion in the order of Melchizedek, which is related to the faith of our forefather Abraham (cf. Hebrews 7:1-3 i.c.w. Hebrews 8:1-2).

Hebrews 7:1-3:
1 This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him, 2 and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, the name Melchizedek means “king of righteousness”; then also, “king of Salem” means “king of peace.”
3 Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever.

Hebrews 8:1-2:
1 Now the main point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, 2 and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by a mere human being.

This presence of Jesus follows victorious spiritual warfare, faithfully waged by faith and related to the increase of the economy of the Kingdom of God (cf. Genesis 14:17-20 i.c.w. Ephesians 6:12).

Genesis 14:17-20:
17 After Abram returned from defeating Kedorlaomer and the kings allied with him, the king of Sodom came out to meet him in the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley).
18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, 19 and he blessed Abram, saying, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth.
20 And praise be to God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand.” Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.

Ephesians 6:12:
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Accordingly, as saints of the ekklēsia, let us be encouraged to go forward in the power of faith and led by the Holy Spirit in the standard of the Word of God as well as in His revelatory truth.

Amen and Amen.

In His Wisdom,

Bul | Marcheshvan – The Month of Produce

The biblical month of Bul | Marcheshvan – also named Cheshvan – Is the eighth month within the redemptive cycle in the biblical calendar. It is the month of ‘fruit’ or ‘the fruit of the tree’ and ‘the produce’.

The Hebrew word ‘Mar’ preceding the month ‘Cheshvan’ means ‘bitter’ and can serve as a hint for us to ask the LORD for a strategy to turn bitter circumstances into sweetness, which goes hand in hand with the presence of the LORD as the one who secures health (cf. Exodus 15:23-25).

Exodus 15:23-25:
23 When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah.)
24 So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?”
25 Then Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became fit to drink. There the Lord issued a ruling and instruction for them and put them to the test.

The Sign of the Cross and the ‘Thaw’

The month of Cheshvan or Bul | Marcheshvan is assigned to the tribe of ‘Manasseh’, whose name is translated as ‘He who makes forget’.

His name should encourage us to leave the past behind and proclaim the good plan of God for our future. In this, we can learn from the movement and behavior of the four living creatures from the throne room of God, which always look forward as they move forward (cf. Ezekiel 10:11-13).

Ezekiel 10:11-13:
11 As they moved, they would go in any one of the four directions the cherubim faced; the wheels did not turn about as the cherubim went. The cherubim went in whatever direction the head faced, without turning as they went.
12 Their entire bodies, including their backs, their hands and their wings, were completely full of eyes, as were their four wheels.
13 I heard the wheels being called “the whirling wheels.”

Manasseh was the firstborn son of Joseph, being the second blessed by his grandfather Jacob after Ephraim, while Jacob crossed his arms (cf. Genesis 48:13-14).

Genesis 48:13-14:
13 And Joseph took both of them, Ephraim on his right toward Israel’s left hand and Manasseh on his left toward Israel’s right hand, and brought them close to him.
14 But Israel reached out his right hand and put it on Ephraim’s head, though he was the younger, and crossing his arms, he put his left hand on Manasseh’s head, even though Manasseh was the firstborn.

It was in Joseph’s interest to reverse the order of his father Jacob’s blessing, but this was not granted to him (cf. Genesis 48:17-19).

Genesis 15:13:
13 Then the Lord said to him (note: Abram), “Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there.

This clearly shows to us that it was God’s plan to proceed in this way, namely to shape the future through prophetic revelation. Thus, God had already established something in His predestined plan that could not be reversed by the will of a human being (cf. Psalm 33:4).

Psalm 33:4:
4 For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.

The name as afore mentioned means ‘Manasseh’ which means ‘he who makes forget’, whereas the name ‘Ephraim’ means ‘double fruitfulness’.

Through the two names given to the sons of Joseph, an important principle becomes clear, namely to be focused on letting go of the past and looking confidently to the fruitful future.

The Sign of the Cross and the ‘Thaw’

In the blessing of Manasseh, the sign of the cross played an important role, which was created by crossing the arms of Jacob, who is called Israel at this point, while he blessed Ephraim before.

The name ‘Israel’ means ‘God’s fighter’ and is an indication of the quality of the spiritual warfare to establish the presence of God and to go forward confidently in the blessing of God (cf. Genesis 32:27-29 i.c.w. Matthew 11:12).

Genesis 32:27-29:
27 The man asked him, “What is your name?” “Jacob,” he answered.
28 Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.”
29 Jacob said, “Please tell me your name.” But he replied, “Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there.

Matthew 11:12:
12 From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence (Note: forcefully advancing), and violent people have been raiding it.

By crossing the arms, the last letter of the Hebrew alphabet, namely the ‘Thaw’ was created, which means ‘desire, longing, to indicate, to mark, to draw a line, wish, ambition, lust, to abominate’. This letter carries the symbol of ‘an identification mark, imprint, code’. In Job 31:35 is ‘Thaw’ used as ‘longing’ and in Ezekiel 9:6 it is used as an ‘indication mark’ for protection.
The numerical value of the letter ‘Thaw’ is ‘400’ and indicates the end of captivity and the beginning of freedom (cf. Genesis 15:13 i.c.w. Acts 7:6-7).

Genesis 15:13:
13 Then the Lord said to him, “Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there.

Acts 7:6-7:
6 God spoke to him in this way: ‘For four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own, and they will be enslaved and mistreated.
7 But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves,’ God said, ‘and afterward they will come out of that country and worship me in this place.’

Furthermore, the Hebrew letter ‘Thaw’ is the ultimate expression of space and time in a single letter.

The Sound of the Eternal Gospel and its Aroma

The crossing arms of Jacob over his grandsons Ephraim and Manasseh can also be seen as the sphere of the eternal gospel that goes along with God’s special wind and covers us, much like it is described in Revelation 14:6-7.

Revelation 14:6-7:
6 Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth – to every nation, tribe, language and people.
7 He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.”

The sound of the eternal gospel is the call to fear and worship God and the good news that God’s justice has come upon Babylon. It is the gospel that carries the fragrance of life and death (cf. 2 Corinthians 2:14-16).

2 Corinthians 2:14-16:
14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.
15 For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.
16 To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task?

The Destruction of Confusion

God destroys the confusion (Note: ‘Babylon/Babel’ means ‘confusion’), the power of false doctrine by those who move under the ‘crossed arms’ of the ‘Ancient of Days’ (Note: grandfather) (cf. Daniel 7:9-10; Revelation 14:8 i.c.w.1 Timothy 4:1-2).

Daniel 7:9-10:
9 “As I looked, “thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze.
10 A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated, and the books were opened.

Revelation 14:8:
8 A second angel followed and said, “ ‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great,’ which made all the nations drink the maddening wine of her adulteries.”

1 Timothy 4:1-2:
1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.
2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.

The Hand of God and the Fivefold Ministry

The manifestation of God’s hand through His fingers, the fivefold ministry, creates divine unity and spiritual maturity. The result of this is that the influence of Babylon, namely confusion or seduction is put in its place (cf. Ephesians 4:11-14).

Ephesians 4:11-14:
11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.

The Finishing of the Temple and the Closed Door of the Room

In the eighth biblical month, the temple was completed under the leadership of King Solomon, which is related to the Hebrew letter ‘Thaw’. As already mentioned, the ‘Thaw’ is the final expression of space and time in a single letter (cf. 1 Kings 6:38).

1 Kings 6:38:
38 In the eleventh year in the month of Bul, the eighth month, the temple was finished in all its details according to its specifications. He had spent seven years building it.

The temple was the first permanent house of God.

Previously, the presence of God dwelt in a tent (Note: desert as transition) and later moved to the temple of Jerusalem (Note: solid substance), the capital of Israel, which means that God set up His throne in the midst of Israel. This is set up as the supreme court of God (cf. Psalm 122:3-5).

Psalm 122:3-5:
3 Jerusalem is built like a city that is closely compacted together.
4 That is where the tribes go up – the tribes of the Lord – to praise the name of the Lord according to the statute given to Israel.
5 There stand the thrones for judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

Only those who are true lovers (Note: worshipers => Judah – David was from the tribe of Judah) of the Heavenly Father and know that they are part of the Bride, which is the city of ‘Yerushalayim’, are able to judge righteously under the command of the Ancient of Days (cf. Revelation 21:2, 9-10).

Revelation 21:2.9-10:
2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. …
9 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.”
10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.

In connection with King Solomon’s completion of the temple, I was led to the Bible passage from Matthew 6:6.

Matthew 6:6:
6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

This biblical passage is about the importance of completing the personal realm in the true relationship with the Heavenly Father, which also points to the dimension of the Hebrew letter ‘Thaw’, which at the same time can be seen in relation to the crossing of Jacob’s arms.

In order to reach the realm of true relationship with the Heavenly Father, it is necessary that we ‘close the door’ from within to our personal space of relationship with the Father. When we do this, it is the LORD’s delight to reward us from the hidden place, for He loves to dwell in the ‘dark’ (cf. 1 Kings 8:12 i.c.w. Colossians 2:2-3).

1 Kings 8:12:
12 Then Solomon said, “The Lord has said that he would dwell in a dark cloud; …

Colossians 2:2-3:
2 My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

The closed door is also a representation of humility and devotion before the Lord in prayer, which encompasses a divine relationship.

The closed room reveals the realm of God’s mysteries that bring forth vision in the form of wisdom and knowledge.

Our surrender and submission to the Heavenly Father releases His hand over us so that His plans for our lives become visible (cf. Isaiah 55:8-11).

Isaiah 55:8-11:
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, 11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Amen and Amen.

In His Wisdom,
