Due to the season of passing over, which includes the movement of our temple into a greater place of liberty, it is interesting to study about the crossing over of the people of Israel under the leading of Moses- “The one, who is pulled out of the water” and later under the leading of Joshua- “JAHWE is salvation!”.

The movement of Moses

The movement of Moses was the movement out of the slavery of Egypt (note: the world) into the testing phase (note: desert) of God.
Before the people of Israel were freed from slavery, they crossed over through the Red Sea which I also see as a symbol for the “mouth of God” or the “throne of God”. I call it the “dark king’s hall”, that carries the deep secrets of the Heavenly Father (see Exodus 14:21-22; Revelation 4:6).

Exodus 14:21-22:
21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, 22 and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.

Revelation 4:6:
6 Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal. In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back.

The Call to release the divine sound after three days of movement

The people of Israel were called by God to cross over to release a divine sound from earth to Heaven (see Exodus 3:18; Exodus 10:3)!

Exodus 3:18:
18 “The elders of Israel will listen to you. Then you and the elders are to go to the king of Egypt and say to him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Let us take a three-day journey into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God.’

Exodus 10:3:
3 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him, “This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, so that they may worship me.

The three days and nights of Jonah

Also Jonah was for three days and nights in the “hall of the living secrets” of God to release a sound of turning or returning to God, so that the people of Nineveh could see the voice like the Apostle John saw the voice of the Son of God (see Jonah 2:1.10; Revelation 1:10.12)!

Jonah 1.17; 2:10:
1:17 Now the Lord provided a huge fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
2:10 And the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.

Revelation 1:10.12:
10 On the Lord’s Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet, ...
12 I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, …

The movement of Joshua

Joshua led the people of Israel from testing (note: desert) into their promise of God (note: Canaan)!
It means, that the people of Israel were filled by the leading of Moses through the desert with steadfast faith and supernatural power, so that they were able to conquer with Joshua the first principality “Jericho” as a first fruit for God. It is like as Jesus went full of the Holy Spirit into the desert and left it full of the power of the Spirit (see Luke 4:1.14; James 1:2-4.12)!

Luke 4:1.14:
1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, …
14 Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside.

James 1:2-4.12:
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

The Spearhead at the Front Line in the times of the crossing over by Joshua

The spearhead of the people of Israel in their time of crossing over the Jordan was the tribe of Rueben- “SEE A SON!”, the tribe of Gad- “LUCK”, and the half tribe of Manasseh- “THE ONE, WHO WILL LET FORGET”. It was the 4`th (note: discerning and showing the times; see Genesis 1:14-19), the 6`th (note: establishment of the new living wineskin; see Genesis 1:27.30) and the 8`th (note: new beginning, entering from the rest of God into the accomplished creative work of the Lord- the new first day) tribe, that established the front line to conquer the promised land (see Joshua 4:12).

It is Jesus, who brings the favor- mercy and contributes, that we let our humiliating past or faults, that we did behind us, so that we reach out for the new day, which is laying before us (note: Rueben, Gad, Manasseh; see Joshua 4:12; Philippians 3:13).

Joshua 4:12:
12 The men of Reuben, Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh crossed over, ready for battle, in front of the Israelites, as Moses had directed them.

Philippians 3:13:
13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, ...

Rueben, Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh took the land on the other side (east part) of the Jordan as their inheritance. They didn’t want the land on the other side (note: west part) of the Jordan in the land of Canaan (see Numbers 32:1-5.16-19; Joshua 1:12-16).

Numbers 32:1-5.16-19:
1 The Reubenites and Gadites, who had very large herds and flocks, saw that the lands of Jazer and Gilead were suitable for livestock.
2 So they came to Moses and Eleazar the priest and to the leaders of the community, and said, 3 “Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sebam, Nebo and Beon— 4 the land the Lord subdued before the people of Israel—are suitable for livestock, and your servants have livestock.
5 If we have found favor in your eyes,” they said, “let this land be given to your servants as our possession. Do not make us cross the Jordan.”
16 Then they came up to him and said, “We would like to build pens here for our livestock and cities for our women and children.
17 But we will arm ourselves for battle and go ahead of the Israelites until we have brought them to their place. Meanwhile our women and children will live in fortified cities, for protection from the inhabitants of the land.
18 We will not return to our homes until each of the Israelites has received their inheritance. 19 We will not receive any inheritance with them on the other side of the Jordan, because our inheritance has come to us on the east side of the Jordan.

Joshua 1:12-16:
12 But to the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joshua said, 13 “Remember the command that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you after he said, ‘The Lord your God will give you rest by giving you this land.’
14 Your wives, your children and your livestock may stay in the land that Moses gave you east of the Jordan, but all your fighting men, ready for battle, must cross over ahead of your fellow Israelites. You are to help them 15 until the Lord gives them rest, as he has done for you, and until they too have taken possession of the land the Lord your God is giving them. After that, you may go back and occupy your own land, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you east of the Jordan toward the sunrise.”

The Rest of God and the Power of prophetic Decrees

Reuben, Gad and Manasseh were the bridge tribes between the “land of Moses” and the “land Joshua”. They were and are representing the alignment of the rest and revelation of God- prophetic decrees (note: east of the Jordan toward the sunrise), that went before the Israelites.
They were showing the people of Israel the power of right humility and administration for building prophetic heights, so that everyone would have the right vision (see Luke 14:28).

Luke 14:28:
28 “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? ...”

Furthermore the pioneering movement of the tribe of Rueben, Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh at the front line increased angelic activity and also they prepared the "HIGH WAY" (note: Rueben, Gad and Manasseh were bridge tribes in the crossing over process) for Joshua and the rest of the people of Israel (see Psalm 91:11-12; Isaiah 35:8-10; Isaiah 62:10)!

Psalm 91:11-12:
11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

Isaiah 35:8-10:
8 And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it.
9 No lion will be there, nor any ravenous beast; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there, 10 and those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.

Isaiah 62:10:
10 Pass through, pass through the gates! Prepare the way for the people. Build up, build up the highway! Remove the stones. Raise a banner for the nations.

The reason for this powerful result is, because the two and the half tribes possessed the region of Heshbon- “calculation, bill, accountability” and Bashan- “fruitful, a plain without stones”.

The region of Heshbon was before the conquering process under the authority of the Amorite king Sihon- “sweeping away” and Bashan was under the authority of the Amorite king Og- “He was crooked.”

Rueben, Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh reflected the potential of Jesus, the Prince of Peace (note: rest; see Isaiah 9:5) and His provision, where He multiplied the bread and the fish at a place, that was full of green grass, because their land of inheritance was connected with rest and the green pastures (see Deuteronomy 29:7-8; John 6:9-10.14).

Deuteronomy 29:7-8:
7 When you reached this place, Sihon king of Heshbon and Og king of Bashan came out to fight against us, but we defeated them.
8 We took their land and gave it as an inheritance to the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh.

John 6:9-10.14:
9 “Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?” 10 Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there).
14 After the people saw the sign Jesus performed, they began to say, “Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

Walking on the Tongue of Christ

The crossing over the Jordan river by Joshua and the people of Israel was and is also symbolizing the walk on the “tongue of Jesus Christ” (note: Moses crossed the Red Sea/ “mouth of God”; Joshua crossed the Jordan river/ “tongue of God”), who appeared later as the living word of God to Joshua before he and his people conquered Jericho (see Joshua 5:13-14 in conjunction with Hebrews 4:12; Revelation 1:16; Revelation 19:10e; John 7:38; James 3:11-12).

Joshua 5:13-14:
13 Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?” 14 “Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” Then Joshua fell face down to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord have for his servant?”

Hebrews 4:12:
12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Revelation 1:16:
16 In his (note: Jesus Christ) right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.

Revelation 19:10e:
“... 10e For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.”

John 7:38:
“... 38 Whoever believes in me (note: Jesus Christ), as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”

James 3:11-12 (note: the power of the tongue):
11 Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?
12 My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

The flowing Water and the 300 moving Tongues

Also it is not a coincidence, that the flowing water or the water of the spring is connected to the licking of the tongue by the warriors of Gideon, who brought their tongues in agreement with the Spirit of God, so that they increased in the fear of the Lord to conquer the land, that was possessed by the Midianites (see Judges 7:1a.5-7)!

Judges 7:1a.5-7:
1a Early in the morning, Jerub-Baal (that is, Gideon) and all his men camped at the spring of Harod (note: “fear or terrifying fear”).
5 So Gideon took the men down to the water. There the Lord told him, “Separate those who lap the water with their tongues as a dog laps from those who kneel down to drink.”
6 Three hundred of them drank from cupped hands, lapping like dogs. All the rest got down on their knees to drink.
7 The Lord said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the others go home.”
