Some time ago the LORD spoke to me through the verses from Genesis 8:6-9 where Noah  (meaning “rest”) sent two different kinds of birds out from the ark to test whether the “waters of judgment” had receded on earth.

The Open Window and the Two Birds

For this Noah first sent out a raven and then a dove by releasing them through an open window in the ark.

Genesis 8:6-9:
6 After forty days Noah opened a window he had made in the ark and sent out a raven, and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth.
8 Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground.
9 But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark.

I find it remarkable at this point that Noah, whom I see as the allegory for the Heavenly Father in this case, acts from the center of rest, when he sends out the raven, and later on the dove to find out what condition prevails on earth.

The two Presences on the Earth

It is no coincidence that Noah sent out the raven first and then a few days later released the dove out of the window in the ark. The Heavenly Father wanted to re-establish His presence on the earth and for this He used the above mentioned birds as a visible sign of His creation, as they moved over the “waters of judgment”. 
Because the dove points towards the Holy Spirit, as is revealed in Luke 3:21-22 where it is also connected to water, we can see a reference to the scriptures from Genesis 1:1-5 where the Spirit of God hovered or vibrated over the “waters of chaos”.

Luke 3:21-22:
21 When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened  22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”

Genesis 1:1-5:
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

The “Baptism of the Earth“

Ultimately the “waters of judgment” were a so-called baptism of the earth that led to a greater glory or rather order and heralded in a new time for mankind. This was related to fruitful multiplication, solid food and the Fear of the LORD and was confirmed by the Heavenly Father through the rainbow, which consisted of seven colors (see Genesis 9:1-3.16-17 i.c.w. Hebrews 5:14).

Genesis 9:1-3.16-17:
1 Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth.
2 The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands.
3 Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
17 So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”

Hebrews 5:14:
14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

The Covenant of God between Man and Animals

This covenant was not only a covenant between God and man, but also between God and the animals, which explains why creation is longing for the sons of God to be revealed according to Romans 8:19-21. 

Romans 8:19-21:
19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children (note: sons) of God to be revealed.
20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.

As in the Days of Noah

Jesus Christ said that in the last days it shall be as in the days of Noah (see Matthew 24:38-39). For me it means amongst other things that this speaks about a time of covenant but also of true differentiation between good and evil where spiritual maturity in conjunction with the light through the gift of discernment takes an important place to announce the new day or new time (see 1 Corinthians 12:10 i.c.w. Genesis 9:3; Hebrews 5:14; Genesis 1:2-5).

1 Corinthians 12:10:
...10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.

Genesis 9:3:
3 Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

Hebrews 5:14:
14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

Genesis 1:2-5:

God's Glory, Provision and the Potential of Healthy Fruit Development

If we take this revelation and return to the sending out of the raven and the dove by Noah, it means that God wanted to intensify His presence on earth. This is firstly connected to the presence of His glory (note: the waters; see Isaiah 11:9; Habakkuk 2:14) but also to His provision (see 1 Kings 17:4-6), in which the Holy Spirit is moving to bring forth the the fruit of the Father in man (see Galatians 5:22-23).

Isaiah 11:9:
9 They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

Habakkuk 2:14:
14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

1 Kings 17:4-6:
4 You will drink from the brook (note: Kerith), and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.”
5 So he did what the Lord had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there.
6 The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.

Galatians 5:22-23:
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

During the time of Elijah there was another time of judgment (note: a three-and-a-half year drought), where God ordered the raven “to fly” in order to provide for the prophet Elijah at the brook of Kerith. By doing this God revealed his glory and grace in the midst of judgment.

The Black and the White Plumage

The black plumes of the ravens pointed towards the end of an old era which was also confirmed by the widow by the sea in Zarephath in the region of Sidon (see 1 Kings 17:1-16) and the dove that was sent to her (note: Elijah was moving in the Spirit of the LORD=> dove- white plumes and brought provision to the widow. We as saints in the structure of the Bride of Christ are also a dove, as we carry the Holy Spirit in our hearts and carry the love of God to the people; see Song of Songs 2:14 i.c.w. Romans 8:14-16).
The animals (note: ravens) and men were used by God as a sign in that time to continually speak to Israel throughout the ages. Jesus stated this while teaching in the synagogue of Nazareth (see Luke 4:16.24-26).

Luke 4:16.24-26:
16 He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read,  24 “Truly I tell you,” he continued, “no prophet is accepted in his hometown.
25 I assure you that there were many widows in Israel in Elijah's time, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and there was a severe famine throughout the land. 26 Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow in Zarephath in the region of Sidon.

At the time Jesus was born there were a wise man and a widow, who announced the new time that was to come through Jesus. With this they told their society that the old time had finished (see Luke 2,25-38)

Luke 2:25-38:
25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him.
26 It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord's Messiah.
27 Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, 28 Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: 29 “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. 30 For my eyes have seen your salvation, 31 which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: 32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.”
33 The child's father and mother marvelled at what was said about him.
34 Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: “This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, 35 so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too.”
36 There was also a prophet, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, 37 and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying.
38 Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.

A Time To Be Positioned In The Right Place

This new time we entered is a time where we as saints should not primarily try to find our position in the church with our gifts of the Spirit; but should first of all seek the place in the hand of our Heavenly Father in order to enter into true rest.
However, this is only possible by faith which has to be coupled with a humble heart.
The dove, which had been sent out by Noah but returned twice as it did not find a place of rest on the earth is an explanatory statement for it. 
The behavior of the dove shows clearly that God does not want us to find our rest in His creation (note: that which God has provided for us) but in Him as the creator, and this means intimate fellowship with Him!
For instance, when Adam was created on the sixth day he first entered into intimate fellowship with the Heavenly Father, and this was the seventh day, where God rested. Only afterwards did Adam start his work in the Garden of Eden (see Genesis 1:27 i.c.w. Genesis 2:1-4a).
The letter of Hebrews reveals this by stating:

So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness,...”
Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. Psalm 95:7-11 i.c.w. Hebrews 3:7-8; Hebrews 4:1

When we have entered into the rest of the Father and know how to serve or minister out of the hand of God – then we will be able to find our right place in the messianic church (note: precious olive tree; see Genesis 8:10-12 i.c.w. Romans 11:16-18).

Genesis 8:10-12:
10 He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark.
11 When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth.
12 He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him.

Romans 11:16-18:
16 If the part of the dough offered as first-fruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if the root is holy, so are the branches.
17 If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, 18 do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.

The Index Finger on the Hand of God

The rest of the Father is connected to His prophetic guidance – His promise for our lives, as one usually picks up a tame bird with the help of ones index finger, which is also used to point the way; and it is the direction of the Heavenly Father by which we obtain peace in our souls and get closer to His heart/ His love, because He draws us (see John 6:44).

John 6,44:
44 “No one can come to me (note: Jesus Christ) unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.

Often times we can only receive prophetic direction graspable, if we move in His presence, which is connected with the open window and His breath raising us up out of “nothing” (see John 10:27 i.c.w. Genesis 2:7).

John 10:27:
27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

Genesis 2:7:
7 Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Noah's Age

During the time of the flood Noah was six hundred years old; this carries a significant revelation for us in this time (see Genesis 7:11 i.c.w. Genesis 8:13).

Genesis 7:11:
11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.

Genesis 8:13:
13 By the first day of the first month of Noah’s six hundred and first year, the water had dried up from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry.

The numerical value of his age by biblical criteria is made up of the numbers 400 and 200, which at the same time give us the two Hebrew letters of „Thaw“ and „Resch“; added up they total the sum of 600.
The Hebrew letter „Thaw“ can also be translated as „longing, desire, lust, whereas longing according to Job 31,35 i.c.w. Ezekiel 9,6 can also be used in conjunction with protection in the midst of judgement” and the letter „Resch“  can also be translated with „head, pate, leader, beginning, peak or sum“.
By this explanation it becomes clear that it is God's first desire and longing to mark us with His love in order to spare us in the midst of judgment - as was the case with Noah - and to transmit to us the value which He has woven into our being before time began, so that through Jesus Christ we can walk the path He has set before us with our heads held high and grow towards Christ, who is the head (see Psalm 139:16 i.c.w. Jeremiah 1:4-5a; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:15).

Psalm 139:16:
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Jeremiah 1:4-5a:
4 The word of the Lord came to me, saying, 5a “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born...

Ephesians 2:8-10:
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 4:15:
15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.
