The Wings Of The Cherubim And The Hand Of God

Introduction

We as Body of Christ are presently living in the biblical year 5777 (“Ajin-Sajin”), with the biggest measure of time still to come, and I am confident that the LORD will work and form new things in our lives during the rest of this year. Therefore I would like to go into the subject of the hand of the Father and the wings of the cherubim.

The Hand Of God And The Creation Of Man

The hand of the Heavenly Father is closely connected to the creation of Adam and Eve, the first two humans that were formed in perfection as man and woman by the hand of God, and were raised up in their best maturity. This agile maturity came into effect only by the breath of God, which made them able to walk in God's garden as living souls.

Adam and Eve did not live through the stages of infancy, childhood and youth, but were created by the hand and breath of God as man and woman.

This points towards the relevance of the outer and inner touch of God, which generates an autonomous motion (note: by choice) of the human being.

It is the outer touch of the Heavenly Father that transfers responsibility to us as God's sons/daughters, the inner touch of God causes us to walk in the truth of the Heavenly Father (see Numbers 27:18-20; Acts 8:17 i.c.w. John 16:13-15).

Numbers 27:18-20:
18 So the Lord said to Moses, “Take Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit of leadership, and lay your hand on him.
19 Have him stand before Eleazar the priest and the entire assembly and commission him in their presence.
20 Give him some of your authority so the whole Israelite community will obey him.

Acts 8:17:
17 Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

John 16:13-15:
13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.
15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”

The Dawn Of Existence Of Our Divine Identity

This means it is important for the Heavenly Father that we walk in the identity He gives us. As far as God is concerned, our identity began existing before we were conceived on earth, as revealed in Psalm 139:13-16 and also in Jeremiah 1:4-5.

Psalm 139:13-16:
13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Jeremiah 1:4-5:
4 The word of the LORD came to me, saying, 5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

The Fog, The Hands Of God And The Breath

Divine identity is the identity connected to the dew/ground fog (note: the promise on earth – nationality), to the loving hand of God (note: God's providence) and to His breath (note: His life). It is released in the natural intimacy of a married couple (note: man and woman) according to the word of God in love, so that human life can come into being.

When a man and a woman get intimate, i.e. become one in accordance with the order of God, it first of all shows the structure of the father, just as Adam was first formed in his basic structure. Later on God placed him into an expanded love order which is a mirror for the love and unity of Jesus and the church (see Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2:6-7; Genesis 2:18.21-25; Ephesians 5:31-33).

Genesis 1:27:
27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Genesis 2:6-7:
… 6 but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground.
7 Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Genesis 2:18.21-25:
18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” …
21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh.
22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
23 The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”
24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
25 Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.

God's Eternal Plan

=> In the way, children have their beginning within their parents by being formed from the seed of the father and growing in the womb of the mother, so Jesus Christ, the son of God, began His life on earth: He was sired in Mary by the Holy Spirit in God, the Father.
This emphasises that all life comes from God.
People come into existence outside of God as His handiwork.
When we as people of God observe the Heavenly Father doing something on earth, it is vital to understand that He doesn't just implement His will suddenly, when encountering obstacles while advancing in the earth; rather, at the point of time determined by Him, the Heavenly Father executes the things He wrote down a long time ago.
He carries out this course of action by using recorded prescience as a means, revelation as a method and prophecy as a media tool, through which the LORD rules the earth and redeems His eternal offspring.
This shows quite clearly that His long-time plan has always been in effect. <= (Part excerpt from the book „Before the Garden: God's Eternal Continuum“ by Dr. Paula A. Price, pages 45 and 53)

The Creative Power Of God And The Challenge

We can expect challenges when the Heavenly Father takes something from the spirit realm to shape our lives in the earth realm.
The Hebrew word „jāẓar“, used in the natural to describe an act of „forming/shaping“, emphasises this (see Genesis 2:7). „Jāẓar“ describes a piece of art formed by an artist.

Man was formed by God from the dust of the ground like the potter forms an earthen vessel from clay. „Jāẓar“ also means „to be aligned, to be tight, to be in distress, to be confused and to be moved (note: in ones emotions).“ (Part explanation from Strong's Concordance regarding the Hebrew word „jāẓar“ with language key number H3335)

The Hand Of God in The Present Day

The hand of God still moves in the present day, even if we don't perceive it as a physical hand.
The hand of God reigns from heaven above on earth, and it is connected to the spirit realm and to the faith of His people, because God is spirit.

The hand of God can be likened to the cloud, the servant of Elijah saw in the sky and which later manifested as heavy rain. It was a reference to the perfect blessing of God (see 1 Kings 18:44-45a i.c.w. John 4:24; Hebrew 12:1a).

1 Kings 18:44-45a:
44 The seventh time the servant reported, “A cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.” So Elijah said, “Go and tell Ahab, ‘Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.’ ”
45a Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain started falling …

John 4:24:
24 God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Hebrews 12:1a:
1a Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses (note of faith), …

The Wings Of The Cherubim And The Hand Of God

The hand of the Heavenly Father always works from the covering of His glory – this is expressed in the wings of the cherubim.
The book of Ezekiel describes how the hand of God becomes visible underneath the wings of the cherubim (see Ezekiel 10:8).

Ezekiel 10:8:
8 (Under the wings of the cherubim could be seen what looked like human hands.)

It becomes apparent that it is the hand of God, when we look at the previous verse of Ezekiel 10:7 where the hands of the cherubim are first mentioned.

Ezekiel 10:7:
7 Then one of the cherubim reached out his hand to the fire that was among them. He took up some of it and put it into the hands of the man in linen, who took it and went out.

The Hebrew word for „cherub“ means „glancing appearance, lightning“. „Cherubim“ means translated „great one, mighty one“. The wheels of the cherubim form the throne of God; they carry God in reverence and reveal His glory by their characteristic trait.

In the bible, the hand of God is mostly mentioned in the singular and is connected to God's creativity, His signs and wonders, His prophetic directive, His throne room glory, as well as the drawing up into the supernatural prophetic realm (see Genesis 2:7; Exodus 9:3; 1 Samuel 5:6; 2 Kings 3:15-16; Ezekiel 1:3-4; Ezekiel 8:1-3a).

Genesis 2:7:
7 Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Exodus 9:3:
… 3 the hand of the LORD will bring a terrible plague on your livestock in the field – on your horses, donkeys and camels and on your cattle, sheep and goats.

1 Samuel 5:6:
6 The LORD’s hand was heavy on the people of Ashdod and its vicinity; he brought devastation on them and afflicted them with tumors.

2 Kings 3:15-16:
15 But now bring me a harpist.” While the harpist was playing, the hand of the Lord came on Elisha 16 and he said (note: prophesied), “This is what the LORD says: I will fill this valley with pools of water.

Ezekiel 1:3-4:
… 3 the word of the LORD came to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, by the Kebar River in the land of the Babylonians. There the hand of the LORD was on him.
4 I looked, and I saw a windstorm coming out of the north – an immense cloud with flashing lightning and surrounded by brilliant light. The center of the fire looked like glowing metal, …

Ezekiel 8:1-3a:
1 In the sixth year, in the sixth month on the fifth day, while I was sitting in my house and the elders of Judah were sitting before me, the hand of the Sovereign LORD came on me there.
2 I looked, and I saw a figure like that of a man. From what appeared to be his waist down he was like fire, and from there up his appearance was as bright as glowing metal.
3a He stretched out what looked like a hand and took me by the hair of my head. …

Amen and Amen.

In His Wisdom,
