Times come and times pass. There are times of joy and times of sadness. There are times of life and also times of death, as is revealed to us in the book of Ecclesiastes (see Ecclesiastes 3:1).

 

1There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: …

 

Then there are times where the LORD wants to visit us in a special way. During those times God may speak to us in a serious manner, because He wants to make sure we don't miss His visitation and the blessing connected to it.

 

 

In regard to the time of the visitation of God, Holy Spirit emphasized the scripture from Deuteronomy 25:13-15, which describes the correct weight before the eyes of God.

 

13 Do not have two differing weights in your bag – one heavy, one light.

14 Do not have two differing measures in your house – one large, one small.

15 You must have accurate and honest weights and measures, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

 

It is important to the LORD that we understand the norm of His right measure, and don't carry two different measures or weights in our hearts.

 

 

The weight the LORD speaks about in Deuteronomy 25, is connected to the presence of His glory, with which He wants to descend on His people in this time.

 

=> The Hebrew word for „glory“ is kābôd; it means „heaviness, honor, approval, dignity, glory and majesty“. The Hebrew root word is „kābēd“ and means „to be heavy, heaviness, burden“. The Greek word is doxa, which we know from the term doxology (note: glorification of God).

In regard to His appearance, the glory contains honor, esteem, power and blessing. Taking into consideration all these definitions, glory aims to establish someone as an important person, who “carries weight”.

The presence of God automatically causes increase in every area, because earthly wealth and riches are based in the spiritual world. The glory is the automatic storage place for the anointing, <= (The word explanation is based on an explanation from the „Prophet`s Dictionary„ by Paula A. Price, Ph. D.; page 237 as well as from the Elberfelder Study Bible with word key number: 3593)

 

 

From Deuteronomy 25:13 following we can conclude that it is important to God that we don't carry mixed weights in our bags, neither should we have different measures in our house.

It is about our personal and our communal life with God. It is about our heart attitude towards God and towards our neighbors, who are apostolically connected to us.

We received this divine directive for correct weight to protect us: when God comes with His glory and He does not find the right measure in the heart of a believer and in the respective congregation of saints, then God's glory can be destructive.

With God there is no partiality, but He looks on the heart of a person (see 2 Chronicles 19:7; Romans 2:11 i.c.w. 1.Samuel 16:7b-c).

 

7 Now let the fear of the LORD be on you. Judge carefully, for with the LORD our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery.”

 

11 For God shows no partiality.

 

… 7b-c For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.”

 

 

With God, the different weights and mixed measures mean an insufficient weight and are connected to past behavior. It means, the weight or measure of the past is not sufficient for the present or future times. We can't expect the glory of the new time from God, if we merely carry the weight and measure of the past (note: our experience, understanding, knowledge, …).

 

In this time the LORD starts to appear with the power of His new wine and challenges believers in the old wine skin to have their minds and spirits renewed to be able to carry God's glory for this time and the future (see Ephesians 4:23-24 i.c.w. Mark 2:22).

 

23 ...and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

 

22 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins – and the wine is destroyed, and so are the skins. But new wine is for fresh wineskins.

 

This time is a highly explosive spiritual time. It is therefore vital to carry the correct weight and measure of the LORD for this time in ones heart.

 

 

It is important now for every believer in Christ Jesus to examine his “bag” (note: personal life) and his house (note: communal life) for the right weight and measure.

Every single believer is responsible before God for his relationship to God and his neighbor.

Believers in spiritual leadership carry an additional responsibility, namely for the souls entrusted to them; for this they should receive special respect. This kind of responsibility matches the weight of the house (note: congregation of saints), (see 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13; 1 Timothy 5:17; Hebrews 13:17).

 

12 We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labour among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, 13 and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.

 

17 Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honour, especially those who labour in preaching and teaching.

 

17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.

 

If we as God's people want to receive the greater glory of God which is connected to greater weight and responsibility, it is vital that we carry the correct weight of the LORD for this time in our hearts and gatherings.

 

 

Conforming to the righteous measure of God for this time is important, just as the people of Israel did in the time of Moses, when he instructed six of the twelve tribes of Israel at God's behest to speak the blessing on Mount Gerizim, and the other six tribes he instructed to speak the curse on Mount Ebal.

Here, the whole people of Israel agreed with the order of blessing and curse by saying “Amen!” (see Deuteronomy 27:12-13).

 

12 “When you have crossed over the Jordan, these shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.

13 And these shall stand on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.

 

As God's people we need to be aware of the righteous character of God. This does not just mean blessing, but it also carries consequences, if we do not move according to His word and standard (see Romans 7:7-13).

 

7 What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said (see Exodus 20:17), “You shall not covet.”

8 But sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetousness. For apart from the law, sin lies dead.

9 I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin came alive and I died. 10 The very commandment that promised life proved to be death to me.

11 For sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, deceived me and through it killed me.

12 So the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.

13 Did that which is good, then, bring death to me? By no means! It was sin, producing death in me through what is good, in order that sin might be shown to be sin, and through the commandment might become sinful beyond measure.

 

Through Jesus Christ we as God's people are able to live according to the divine standard (see 1 John 1:7-9).

 

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

 

 

We should be aware that a life in discipleship with Christ is not a merry-go-round but is about earnest advancement which requires a sincerity in our hearts.

When we are true and sincere towards our Heavenly Father, the blood of Jesus has the right to cleanse us and restore us where necessary.

 

 

In combination with the correct weight or measure for this time, the LORD further told me that it is about His “burden-message”.

There was a time in Jeremiah's life, where God did not want to release a “burden-message” to His people (see Jeremiah 23:36).

 

36 But ‘the burden of the Lord’ you shall mention no more, for the burden is every man’s own word, and you pervert the words of the living God, the LORD of hosts, our God.

 

But there is a“ burden-message“ in this time in the spirit realm, which we need to understand correctly. It is not about a negative burden, but about responsibility for the weighty things about to be released from the throne-room, and is similar to the scrolls which were handed to the prophets by the angels at the behest of God. These scrolls were sweet in their mouth, but bitter in their stomach (note: spirit; see Ezekiel 3:1-3; Revelation 10:9-10).

 

1 And he said to me, “Son of man, eat whatever you find here. Eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.”

2 So I opened my mouth, and he gave me this scroll to eat.

3 And he said to me, “Son of man, feed your belly with this scroll that I give you and fill your stomach with it.” Then I ate it, and it was in my mouth as sweet as honey.

 

9 So I went to the angel and told him to give me the little scroll. And he said to me, “Take and eat it; it will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey.”

10 And I took the little scroll from the hand of the angel and ate it. It was sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it my stomach was made bitter.

 

If we as people of God do not carry the correct weight and measure for the future glory in our hearts in this time and the time to come, then this glory will be destructive, as mentioned before.

If we have the right relationship with God, the Father, we we do not need to fear this destruction.

It is the LORD'S longing that we as His people are very close to Him and are one with Him (see John 17:20-23).

 

20 “I (note: Jesus Christ) do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

22 The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, 23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.

 

 

At present there is an occurrence on the fields of the spirit, where the ears of corn can be likened to the souls of people.

 

The LORD told me that the fields are white for harvest, but there will be ears (note: people) during the harvest, who will be left behind by God, as they do not carry the right measure in this time (see John 4:35 i.c.w. Deuteronomy 24:19).

 

35 Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I (note: Jesus Christ) tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.

 

19 “When you reap your harvest in your field and forget a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it. It shall be for the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

 

To the ones left behind it might seem as if God has forgotten them. However, this is not the case, as God has a greater goal and bigger plan in mind.

These seemingly forgotten ears of corn are believers, who want to remain in past experiences (note: what the LORD has done in the past). This kind of heart attitude does not pose a problem for God, as God is a God of grace. It means, God is sending Ruth-like movements to harvest the “field of the bridegroom” by drawing these believers close to the heart of Jesus, the bridegroom, so that they experience the first love (see Ruth 2:7-9a-b.15-16).

 

7 She said, ‘Please let me glean and gather among the sheaves after the reapers.’ So she came, and she has continued from early morning until now, except for a short rest.”

8 Then Boaz said to Ruth, “Now, listen, my daughter, do not go to glean in another field or leave this one, but keep close to my young women.

9a-b Let your eyes be on the field that they are reaping, and go after them. Have I not charged the young men not to touch you? …

15 When she rose to glean, Boaz instructed his young men, saying, “Let her glean even among the sheaves, and do not reproach her.

16 And also pull out some from the bundles for her and leave it for her to glean, and do not rebuke her.”

 

While the saints have harvested the fields and continue on in joy with Jesus Christ by leaving their past behind them and, like Paul, strain towards what is ahead (see Philippians 3:13-14), the believers not harvested at that time will go through a special inner process.

 

 

This inner process feels like the tearing of the curtain in the Holy of Holies, as it happened at the crucifixion of Jesus Christ(see Luke 23:44-46).

 

44 It was now about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour, 45 while the sun’s light failed. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.

46 Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last.

 

This feeling of the „curtain-torn-in-two“ will take place in the hearts of the respective believers, thus it will have an impact on the emotions. It happens in this way, because strangers, orphans and widows will come into their “fields”, so that the respective believers feel their inner pain to become a great blessing for them (see Deuteronomy 24:19 i.c.w. Galatians 6:2)!

 

19 “When you reap your harvest in your field and forget a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it. It shall be for the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

 

2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

 

 

The blessing of the left behind „ears of corn“ results in a supernatural transformation, as strangers become friends, orphans become sons and widows become wives.

 

The Hebrew word used in Deuteronomy 24:19 for leaving the ears behind, is „šākaḥ“ and is connected to „misplacing something for lack of memory or concentration“. (note: part excerpt from the Elberfelder Study Bible with word key number: 8195 and Strong's Concordance with word key number: H7911)

 

According to the above mentioned word description it means, that the harvesters continue on their way after finishing the harvesting process and leaving the field, because they already got in touch with their future, so that they leave the remaining ears of corn on behind.

Even though the harvesters feel an inner pain or sadness about leaving a few ears behind in the field, they are no longer able to return to the field, as it is God's plan to use the remaining ears for His honor to bless those people whose status is to be changed according to His will.

 

 

Those spiritual fields were not harvested, because there are strangers, orphans and widows who carry the pain of rejection and loss in their hearts, which the Heavenly Father wants to heal and transform through the “ears of corn” that were left behind.

 

The strangers, orphans and widows come to those believers, who at the time of their visitation were stubborn and not prepared to leave the past behind to advance into their future with the LORD.

 

It is a matter of the hand of God touching the hearts of believers, so they can fully relate to the strangers, orphans and widows.
