The Valley of the Grapes and the ‘One New Man’ -Part II of II-

Note:
The following message is the second part of a teaching that consists of two parts.
It is recommended to read the message chronologically.

The Grape, the Pomegranates and the Figs

Jesus was the grape, the love of the Father, which hung lifted up on the pole of the two spies (cf. John 3:16-17), in order to call us through His blood as kings and priests (Note: The pomegranate wears a crown on its ‘head’; cf. Exodus 39:22-26 i.c.w. Revelation 1:5-6) so that we might bring healing (Note: figs, cf. 1 Samuel 30:11-12; 2 Kings 20:7) to the people and the nations (cf. Revelation 22:2).

John 3:16-17:
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Exodus 39:22-26:
22 They made the robe of the ephod entirely of blue cloth – the work of a weaver – 23 with an opening in the center of the robe like the opening of a collar, and a band around this opening, so that it would not tear.
24 They made pomegranates of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen around the hem of the robe.
25 And they made bells of pure gold and attached them around the hem between the pomegranates.
26 The bells and pomegranates alternated around the hem of the robe to be worn for ministering, as the Lord commanded Moses.

Revelation 1:5-6:
… 5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father – to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.

1 Samuel 30:11-12:
11 They found an Egyptian in a field and brought him to David. They gave him water to drink and food to eat – 12 part of a cake of pressed figs and two cakes of raisins. He ate and was revived, for he had not eaten any food or drunk any water for three days and three nights.

2 Kings 20:7:
7 Then Isaiah said, “Prepare a poultice of figs.” They did so and applied it to the boil, and he recovered.

Revelation 22:2:
… 2 down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.

The Pomegranate and the Marrow

At this point I would like to note that the Hebrew word for pomegranate is ‘rimmown’, which also means ‘marrowy’, because the color of the pomegranate resembles the color of the bone marrow, which is responsible for the production of blood, wherein is life (cf. Genesis 9:4).

Expressed in my words, this means for us today that Joshua and Caleb brought the complete victory of Jesus Christ on the cross back to the camp of Israel and therefore had a very different view than the intimidated other ten leaders of the tribes.

It was the scouts Joshua and Caleb who recognized in the spirit realm that over the giants in their future Promised Land the ‘protective shadow’ had departed, because they carried in their hearts the absolute confidence of the future victory ‘through Christ’ (cf. Numbers 14:9).

Numbers 14:9:
“… 9 Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will devour them. Their protection (Note: ‘protective shadow’) is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them.”

The Revelatory Structure of the ‘One New Man – Joshua and Caleb’

Based on the previously mentioned explanation of the shape of the structure of the ‘one new man’ as the Messianic Body of Christ as a precious olive tree and the Messianic Bride as a city, we can see that there are greater mysteries in the Old and New Covenant, which are also concealed in the spies of Joshua and Caleb.

Since these are two people who carried the victory of Jesus in their time in the form of the great cluster of grapes on a pole, which I assume was made of wood, I would like to address the potential for breakthrough that was in the lives of Joshua and Caleb.

In order to enter into our full promise (Note: Messianic Jews and believers from the Gentile nations) it is necessary that we serve or be willing to cooperate with one another as Joshua and Caleb did.

In order to reveal the revelatory mystery behind the aforementioned scouting team, it is necessary to go into the meaning of their first names, fathers and tribes.

Joshua

The name ‘Joshua’ means ‘YAHWEH saves!’ and has the same meaning as the Greek name ‘Jesus’.
Since Jesus was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel when He lived on earth, Joshua is a reference to the Messianic Jews in our day (cf. Matthew 15:24).

Matthew 15:24:
24 He (Note: Jesus) answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”

Joshua was of the tribe of Ephraim (Note: means ‘double fruitfulness’; cf. Isaiah 61:7), who was preferred over his older brother Manasseh in Jacob’s blessing as indicated by the biblical passages from Genesis 48:13-14 and Romans 1:16 i.c.w. Romans 3:1-2.

Genesis 48:13-14:
13 And Joseph took both of them, Ephraim on his right toward Israel’s left hand and Manasseh on his left toward Israel’s right hand, and brought them close to him.
14 But Israel reached out his right hand and put it on Ephraim’s head, though he was the younger, and crossing his arms, he put his left hand on Manasseh’s head, even though Manasseh was the firstborn.

Romans 1:16:
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile (Note: Greek).

Romans 3:1-2:
1 What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision?
2 Much in every way! First of all, the Jews have been entrusted with the very words of God.

Joshua’s father was ‘Nun’ (cf. Genesis 13:8), which means ‘fish, to sprout, to reproduce’, and again is a reference to Christ because the prophet Isaiah prophesied the following about Jesus in chapter 11:1-2:

‘A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.
The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him – the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord – …’ – Isaiah 11:1-2

Further, Colossians speaks in an obscure way of the true ‘fish in the deep waters’, namely the Son of Man JESUS, who comes with hidden treasures (cf. Colossians 2:2-3).

Colossians 2:2-3:
2 My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Jesus is symbolically speaking our ‘fish’ with the true value of the Father in the water, which we may claim for our lives like Peter (cf. Matthew 17:27).

Matthew 17:27:
27 “But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”

The Hebrew letter ‘Nun’

The Hebrew letter ‘Nun’ carries the numerical value ‘50’ and is thus also a reference to the freedom from burdens (cf. Leviticus 25:8-11a) that Jesus provided for us on the cross of Golgotha but also to the provision of the Holy Spirit. On the fiftieth day the Holy Spirit fell at Shavuot/Pentecost.

From these explanations we can see clearly what kind of anointing God has placed within the Messianic Jews.

Caleb

‘Caleb’, the second scout whose name means ‘dog or forcible’, is a reference to us as saints in Christ from the Gentile nations, since dogs are unclean animals according to the Word of God.

This is evident from the Bible passage in Matthew 15:26 where Jesus speaks to the Canaanite woman.

Matthew 15:26:
26 He (Note: Jesus) replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”

Furthermore, we possess the possibility of seeing our promise delivered from the enemy when we join in faith with the Messianic people of Israel as the Canaanite woman did. She saw in the potential of the crumbs under the table her deliverance because she knew that under the divine ‘shadow of fellowship’ with the Father was the blessing of deliverance and true joy.
She walked on the same path as Christ in order to meet Him as the true Rock and to be captured by His love and mercy. It was a woman who came from the land of God’s Promised Land Canaan, which He promised to His people Israel, and who now became the ‘prey’ through Jesus’ love (cf. Matthew 15:21-28 i.c.w. Psalm 23:5).

Matthew 15:21-28:
21 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon (Note: means ‘catching fish’).
22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter (Note: promise, destiny) is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”
23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”
24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”
25 The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.
26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”
28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.

Psalm 23:5:
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Because the Canaanite woman was faithful in small things through her faith, she was set free with her given promise represented by her daughter (cf. Luke 19:17).

Luke 19:17:
17 “ ‘Well done, my good servant!’ his master replied. ‘Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.’

She honored Jesus and the Holy Spirit with her full surrender of faith in a time of struggle for her promise, much like Gideon’s three hundred warriors did when they lapped the water like dogs (cf. Judges 7:4-7).

Judges 7:4-7:
4 But the Lord said to Gideon, “There are still too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will thin them out for you there. If I say, ‘This one shall go with you,’ he shall go; but if I say, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ he shall not go.”
5 So Gideon took the men down to the water. There the Lord told him, “Separate those who lap the water with their tongues as a dog laps from those who kneel down to drink.”
6 Three hundred of them drank from cupped hands, lapping like dogs. All the rest got down on their knees to drink.
7 The Lord said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the others go home.”
Is Your Promise in Captivity?

If you feel that your promise has in some way been captured or set captive by the enemy, then be encouraged now to claim the potential of God’s word spoken to you, which you have been carrying in your heart for quite some time, by speaking it aloud over your life.

It doesn’t matter how small or insignificant the word seems to you but your faith that connects to your promise brings you to freedom.

Caleb was from the tribe of ‘Judah’ which means ‘praise, worship’ and was the son of ‘Jephunneh’ (cf. Numbers 13:6) whose name means ‘to whom the way is made straight; turn around or he will be prepared’.

This means that we as saints are called to release a new sound of worship to God that leads people to repent as well as to glorify the Father and that He draws closer to us (cf. James 4:8).

James 4:8:
8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Both components of the spies ‘Joshua and Caleb’ belong together and cannot be separated. There is only one city, one bride and one precious olive tree.

Amen and Amen.

In His Wisdom,

Daniel Glimm
