Are you a dreamer like me?

A recurring dream

I have had numerous dreams in my life. I am not talking about desires to achieve certain goals, but just dreams which most people have at night. Some of them don’t make much sense, but when you have a recurring dream then there is usually a purpose and message in it.

Able to fly - Be an eagle not a chicken!

I have dreamt several times that I am able to fly. The dream is very much the same scenario. I am walking along amongst a crowd of people and everyone of us is earthbound and suddenly I realize that if I exercise my faith I will be able to lift myself up over the crowd. I start to run forward a little bit like the train engine, “I think I can, I think I can.” I know I can, I know I can.” Then suddenly it`s lift off and I am soaring above the crowd (the mundane).

The people are looking at me in amazement. “It’s easy! You just have to believe, you just have to have faith,” I’m shouting. And as long as I stay in faith I am flying. I have gone from being a chicken into becoming an eagle very quickly.

How many Christians have remained chickens, because they have no or little concept of the supernatural life and living by faith? Their Christian walk is mundane. Just going to church, and trying live a good moral life, be nice to everyone and stay out of trouble. Very commendable, but hardly the supernatural, resurrection, exciting, life which Jesus promised. Not too many average Christians are raising the dead, healing the sick, casting out devils, and working miracles.

Sometimes we feel we have the handle of faith, yet there are numerous people who we would not call Christian who are doing extraordinary things, because they have faith and a sense of the spiritual realm. I have been fascinated in watching the “Mind Freak”, Chris Angel on TV. He performs many amazing and dangerous stunts. Levitates over trees and from tops of buildings and walks on water. Although I don’t believe he is a Christian he is quite a spiritual person. He prays to Jesus, crosses himself when he does his dangerous stunts and believes in his destiny. He is unlike so many stars who just cash in on their luck or limited talent and become party animals, but he takes his gift seriously.

Some Christian may say, “Oh Chris Angel! he receives his power and ability from the devil.” But wait a moment. Are we Christians the only ones who have a hold on God? Doesn’t the scriptures say, “. . .that He makes His sun to rise of the evil and on the good and sends the rain on the just and the unjust”? (Matt. 5:45)

I remember seeing a program a number of years ago how a group of people grew amazing size vegetables and fruit by growing them in ashes. They were using scriptures verses, biblical principles, and acting their faith, in order that God would bless their crops and He did. The strange thing was that this group of people were not Christians.

There are certain psychics who work with law enforcements agencies and often are as accurate as our Christian prophets. They are tremendous help. When I see them sometimes I often wonder "where are the Christians." Are they all getting their power of success from Satan, or do they believe they have a God given gift or receiving His divine help?

I am sure that there are many people who don’t have faith for salvation, through ignorance or spiritual blindness, but exercise faith in God or His power for other things and receive amazing results. “For without faith it is impossible to please God.” (Heb.11:6) So instead of saying all these people receive their power from Satan or use trickery, (although many obviously do) recognize that numbers of them could be using certain biblical principles of faith so pray that they also may receive faith for salvation.

So let us not be like so many Christian who have faith for salvation but for little else. “He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” (Rom. 8:32) The greater must include the lesser. The greatest miracle is salvation, so why can’t we believe for the lesser miracles and make our Christian lives real and exciting? See salvation is not only for the soul, but for the whole man.

Sickness, poverty, failure, depression, fear, self consciousness, sin consciousness, and worry, are not part of our Christian inheritance. These feelings may attack us, to discourage us and cause us to fail or throw in the towel, but our salvation is not something in the sweet by and by, but to work in the nasty here and now. Back again to “the greater includes the lesser.”

Reject your old religious mindest!

Jesus didn’t say, “I have come to save your soul, but you have to struggle and strive for the rest of your life and cope with failure.” I will give you leg up occasionally, when I’m not too busy , but take courage, you will finally find happiness and success when you get to heaven.” “Your mondane existence will change when you get to glory” No! reject that old religious mindset, which says that fun and success is only for the lost, and the lost will pay for their pleasure when they go to hell.

Not only are there many legitimate pleasures available to Christians, but also adventures, excitement, and spiritual pleasures, which come through supernatural encounters and events. If you feel lack in your life then don’t except it, because the apostle Paul said, “My God will supply all of your need according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus.” (Phil:1:4) Not some, but all of your needs.

Let us stop being chicken! Let's soar like eagles! We are not poor old sinners saved by grace, we WERE sinners saved by grace, but now we are sons and daughters of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

“For you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation a special people that you should show forth praise of Him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” (1.Peter 2:9)
