My Thoughts on 'Our Prophet' Kim Clement and the Prophetic In General

It is rare that I feel actually commanded by God to give a prophetic perspective, but He has made it abundantly clear to me that this is what He wants from me, and so with a bit of fear and trepidation, I will speak into what I believe God has been showing me, both regarding Kim Clement as well as the prophetic movement in general.

The last couple of years have seen two very well-known prophets (Bob Jones and John Paul Jackson) pass on to glory, as well as at least several other prophets who are quite well-known, experiencing very serious health or personal crisis issues. Many are asking, "What is going on? Is this the devil taking out our prophets or is there sin in the prophets or what is it?" I will attempt to honestly address these questions with what I hear God speaking to me.
As many of you know, Prophet Kim Clement suffered a very serious stroke on Labor Day, September 7, 2015. As I write, he is "awake and recovering". We should all maintain faith and pray and declare that he be fully restored – and better than ever. Having said that, it could very well require an extended period of rehabilitation for Kim to come back from this serious challenge.

I do believe that I have been given a timetable for when he will come back, but I don't feel to share that as who knows what agreement in faith could accelerate on his behalf. So many things with God are always fluid as He often doesn't just predetermine an outcome but looks at responses to His stated intentions and seems to adjust from there. The Scriptures are full of this pattern both in the Old and New Testament.

Our Prophet Kim Clement

It is intentional, me listing Kim as "Our Prophet". Many, many love and respect him, as such and others have criticized and even blasted Kim for prophetic words that didn't seem to come about the way he said them, and he has been called a false prophet (something every true prophet including Jesus has been called). Here is what I heard from the Lord: "Kim was right even when he was wrong," and I understood this to be a general statement and not specifically about everything Kim has prophesied.

I was shown that Kim was sent to our nation by God (from South Africa) to prophesy "hope and life" into America. For an extended season he seemed to be the only prophet speaking hope and life into America. His name speaks into his assignment. Clement means "merciful" and he was sent to prophesy mercy over and into America, even when most American prophets could only see judgment for America. The name Kim means "brave or bold" and he has certainly exemplified that trait by boldly declaring the goodness of God over America, even when he was blasted for doing so, and he was severely blasted for doing so.

When the Lord spoke to me that, "Kim was right even when he was wrong," He was saying even if Kim missed it in some of the details of how the "clemency" of God would show up, he did not miss God's general heart that Kim was instructed to convey. Furthermore, in the future when we better understand the role of the prophetic, we will understand that it is designed to be effective in rallying the troops to believe the good things that God wishes to deliver.

A prophet is not meant to have to stand alone on a prophetic word while all else sit back and dare and even desire the prophet to be wrong. God Himself, prophesied to Moses that he and all the people of Israel would be brought into the Promised Land, yet except for Joshua and Caleb that generation of adults died in the wilderness. Mass resistance, doubt and unbelief will often bend or even seemingly break a prophetic word from God. God was not a false prophet, but there was a minimal level of agreement He required from the people of Israel which they did not give.

The next generation picked up on the prophetic word – because at the end of the day, a true prophetic word remains captured in time waiting to be activated. Similarly, though God has been merciful to America, that mercy could have had a greater level of manifestation if more had chosen to agree with the prophet, rather than to dig their heels in doubt and hoping the prophetic word failed. Kim was so in touch with God's heart of mercy that he would prophesy some of the most impossible scenarios and hopeful outcomes. The Lord says, "Kim was right even when he was wrong."

Labor Day Significance

Even as there was great significance in the passing of Bob Jones on Valentine's Day, thus validating his message on it being all about love, so too there is significance to Kim suffering his stroke on Labor Day. Labor Day is a holiday designed to provide a day of rest, fun and relaxation for "all those who labor." The Lord spoke to me that Kim, finished stage 1 of his assignment on that day.

The greatest Kingdom season ever began on Rosh Hashanah (September 13), and Kim's voice was key into keeping us on track until this amazingly, accelerated Kingdom day came upon us. He can now rest for a season. For the last 7 years, since Rosh Hashanah of 2008 when the Dow Jones fell 777.7, Kim has been prophetically warring for America's destiny – and often having to do so against the majority of known prophetic voices.

Kim has been a brave warrior experiencing more backlash than most anyone can imagine, causing many physical ills and many sleepless nights. Most of that backlash was not from witches and the occult (though they targeted him as well), but from within the Body of Christ he was attempting to serve with as much prophetic integrity as possible. After the enemy's attack, God is now letting Kim rest for a season.
The hope-filled and hopeful destiny of America, that Kim repeatedly prophesied, has been secured and so that assignment is over. So thank You God, for Our Prophet Kim and the courage he exhibited.

The Prophet of Mercy will come back as a Prophet of Glory

When Kim comes back, he will seem in many ways like an entirely different prophet. He is being rewired and reconstituted for another assignment. He will come back as a prophet of glory and a prophet of the presence. His words will be very weighty and will infuse wherever he speaks with the presence of the King. I believe we will be disappointed if we look for the old Kim to come back because a 2.0 version of himself is what is being prepared. If you look in the future, Kim looks much better than he looks right now!

On the Prophetic in General

I want to address the recent deaths as well as the recent and present difficulties of several of these key prophetic voices. Here are four distinct realities:

1) The devil is still trying to kill the prophets and attacks with everything he can.

2) God is pulling the plug on prophets who frighten and weaken His Bride.

3) Some prophetic voices' lives are out of balance (family not a priority; not taking care of themselves with proper diet, exercise, rest) and therefore have natural health risks.

4) An upgraded New Testament prophetic model must be made room for.

It is important to realize that all four of these realities are in effect. God has not suddenly lost the ability to protect His prophets. He already knows that all true prophets will carry a major bull's-eye on their back, and so when He commissions a prophet He knows the corresponding angelic help that needs to be sent to shield His servants. He doesn't just depend on intercessors, though they are important, as He has had prophets that march to the beat of another drum.

In Old Testament days most of the prophets were flying 100% solo, yet were protected for decades until their assignments were over, despite massive demonic and occultic resistance. We are shifting into New Testament understanding of prophets, but God can and will protect these as well. (I am not here to point the finger and say which prophets were in what category, only to say that those broad categories exist and it can help us process things to be aware of them and know that any one of them could apply to different situations.)

The Lord has made it clear to me that it is a very serious offense in His sight for any of His prophetic voices to be releasing fear into His Bride. He will judge that more harshly than almost anything else He will judge right now because the morale of His troops is uppermost in His mind at this time. He is demoting His leaders who don't understand that this is a primary assignment that they carry.

No General remains a General very long if all he does is tell us how strong the enemy is or how overwhelming the fight is going to be. This is particularly so, when the side they represent carries overwhelming superior firepower - as does ours. Any prophetic voice that instills any level of fear or anxiety in the troops is working against the Commanding Officer that he serves. All high-risk and dangerous scenarios are dealt with at a Commanding Officers level and you do not pass that on to the troops themselves.

Prophetic voices are to sow fear in the enemy's camp not into the Bride's camp. If you want to be a prophet of God in these days you must learn to look at dry bones and prophesy life into them (Ezekiel 37) rather than telling the dry bones how dry they are. New Testament prophets find the treasure hid in the field rather than just tell how bad and dirty the field is. We are slowly making the shift but this will greatly accelerate in 2016.

An Upgrade is Taking Place

In closing, I want to declare that we are in the early days of an overhaul of all that concerns the prophetic. As part of that we are in more need of a general, enlightened prophetic culture than even higher level prophets. We are in need of realizing the hybrid nature of Old Testament prophets because in their day the Holy Spirit was not available as the Spirit of Truth in the Believer that could test and judge all things.

Paul laid out the new standard in 1 Corinthians 13 and 14 when he said that prophesy was "in part" (i.e., some hit and miss, eat the fish and spit out the bones) and that we are to judge prophetic words ourselves. They did not have that prerogative in the Old Testament, because Jesus was not in their hearts and the Holy Spirit had not yet been sent. Therefore the standard for exactitude was severe.

So today we are to look at general fruit of a prophetic voice and ministry and not worry about 100% flawless accuracy. That was clearly, Biblically, an Old Testament standard. Appropriately, prophetic voices today need to quit carrying themselves around with the air of being Old Testament prophets.
The prophetic is not going away and will in fact only increase – but needed upgrades are coming all around. Meanwhile we honor that which has gone before us and that which is yet among us.

Lord, thank You for the courageous service of Your servant Kim Clement, and may he be retooled for his even greater Stage 2 assignment.

Whilst I was moving with the Holy Spirit through the time of Sukkot (note: feast of tabernacles), He led me to Nehemiah 8:13-17. This scripture describes the erecting of temporary shelters under the apostolic instructions of Nehemiah and Ezra, which had not been done since the time of Joshua.

Nehemiah 8:13-17:
13 On the second day of the month, the heads of all the families, along with the priests and the Levites, gathered around Ezra the teacher to give attention to the words of the Law.
14 They found written in the Law, which the Lord had commanded through Moses, that the Israelites were to live in temporary shelters during the festival of the seventh month 15 and that they should proclaim this word and spread it throughout their towns and in Jerusalem: “Go out into the hill country and bring back branches from olive and wild olive trees, and from myrtles, palms and shade trees, to make temporary shelters”—as it is written.
16 So the people went out and brought back branches and built themselves temporary shelters on their own roofs, in their courtyards, in the courts of the house of God and in the square by the Water Gate and the one by the Gate of Ephraim.
17 The whole company that had returned from exile built temporary shelters and lived in them. From the days of Joshua son of Nun until that day, the Israelites had not celebrated it like this. And their joy was very great.

The Time Period of “Emptiness”

The feast of tabernacles is a feast of joy and increasing glory as God first dwelt among the people of Israel in a tent (note: tabernacle) in the desert and He instructed them to be joyous during the time of Sukkot (see Exodus 40:34-35 in conjunction with Deuteronomy 16:13-15). In regard to the scripture from Nehemiah 8:13-17 we can see that there was a time period in which the people of Israel did not conform to the will of God to step into a greater cycle of the joy of God, which God so generously wanted to give to His people every year anew.

This means there was a time of “emptiness“ among the people of Israel during which their strength decreased, as the joy of God is always connected to strength  (see Nehemiah 8:10b).

Nehemiah 8:10b:
10b Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Extend Upwards!

As I meditated over the scripture from Nehemiah 8 the Holy Spirit emphasized the first part of verse 16 (note: printed in bold italic), where it says:

So the people went out and brought back branches and built themselves temporary shelters on their own roofs, in their courtyards, in the courts of the house of God and in the square by the Water Gate and the one by the Gate of Ephraim.

Because we as people of God have recently passed the feast of Sukkot, I would like to encourage every saint to go on a higher level with God. For this step of faith we have to indirectly leave our present familiar faith environment (i.e. our current comprehension of God, our current understanding of the procedure in prayer/ worship, …) in which we have been moving over many years and in which we have grown, to go one step higher with God; and this is connected to the habitation on the roof.
Ultimately, my appeal for this approach simply means building up on that which the Holy Spirit has already established in our lives in the past to receive even more of the things He wants to give us.
We could of course pitch our personal „tent of faith“ in the courtyard, the forecourt or by the gate as revealed in the scroll of Nehemiah but there is a higher way still, where God wants to meet us with His presence (see 1.Corinthians 12:31b).

1.Corinthians 12:31b:
31b And yet I will show you the most excellent (i.e. higher) way.

For instance, had John the seer not gone higher by prompting of the angel, he would never have been able to experience the presence of God in the throne room (see Revelation 4:1-2).

Revelation 4:1-2:
1 After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”
2 At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it.

Without this higher experience John would merely have been a prophetic messenger ministering the revolutionary gospel of Jesus Christ to the churches; this in itself is wonderful but there is an even greater presence, i.e. the presence of the throne room where the secrets of the presence of God, His being, the twenty-four elders, the angels and the lamb as well as the bride lie hidden.
By “going up higher” the prophet Ezekiel also experienced a greater glory (see Ezekiel 43:5).

Ezekiel 43:5:
5 Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.

The spiritual act of going higher or rather the building on the top of the roof means that God is first of all interested in having us in His presence by which we then are bound in our spirits as God embraces us. This helps us to comprehend His being and heartbeat and to truthfully reflect it on the earth.

The Spreading of the Message of the Gospel

By this spiritual act of going higher the apostle Peter also entered into a new time where the gospel was taken to a new group of people (i.e. the centurion Cornelius with his family and friends), whom he had not been familiar with; this in turn led to the spreading of the gospel (see Acts 10:9-28).

Acts 10:9-28:
9 About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray.
10 He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance.
11 He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners.
12 It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds.
13 Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”
14 “Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”
15 The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”
16 This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.
17 While Peter was wondering about the meaning of the vision, the men sent by Cornelius found out where Simon’s house was and stopped at the gate.
18 They called out, asking if Simon who was known as Peter was staying there.
19 While Peter was still thinking about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Simon, three1 men are looking for you.
20 So get up and go downstairs. Do not hesitate to go with them, for I have sent them.”
21 Peter went down and said to the men, “I’m the one you’re looking for. Why have you come?”
22 The men replied, “We have come from Cornelius the centurion. He is a righteous and God-fearing man, who is respected by all the Jewish people. A holy angel told him to ask you to come to his house so that he could hear what you have to say.”
23 Then Peter invited the men into the house to be his guests. The next day Peter started out with them, and some of the believers from Joppa went along.
24 The following day he arrived in Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends.
25 As Peter entered the house, Cornelius met him and fell at his feet in reverence.
26 But Peter made him get up. “Stand up,” he said, “I am only a man myself.”
27 While talking with him, Peter went inside and found a large gathering of people.
28 He said to them: “You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean.
Let us “extend our faith upwards” to see and comprehend God's being and greatness even stronger.

Amen and Amen.

In His wisdom,

Daniel Glimm

Just the other day, while I was rushing about trying to get ready for our Sunday church service, the Lord's voice came crashing into my world and brought me literally to a halt! In fact, I was so startled I dropped everything on the floor – my Bible, my message, and the contents of my purse ended up splashed all over our hardwood floor. It was not, by any stretch of the imagination, a small, still voice. It was a clear, directive word I felt was maybe even the audible voice of God.

I heard the Lord say:

"Tell My Church I am leading them out of their comfort zones. Behold, I am doing a new thing. Yes, I am preparing a new wineskin that will house My presence and My purposes for this season. I am exposing doctrines that have kept My people from experiencing all that I desire to give and release to them and through them. I am pouring in a new wine and I am removing the old so that I can pour in the new."

I have heard the Lord speak concerning Isaiah 43:19, often through different seasons that the Body of Christ has experienced. In fact, it has almost become a Christian cliché to say, "God is doing a new thing!" So, when I heard Him speak this, and let me say again that it was in a very directive way, I knew He meant that we must make a shift and prepare for His presence to manifest in a new way. In fact, many of us have been in preparation for a while now. Still, let's look at this passage in its entirety and then we will move forward to discuss what shift is necessary to prepare ourselves for the new wineskins.

Please keep in mind that He said, "I am leading..." which means we must watch closely and listen for His leading! He knows how to lead us; we, on the other hand, must learn to submit and follow, right? OK, so let's look closely at Isaiah 43:19: "Behold, I will do a new thing; now shall it spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."

Notice several main concepts:

1. God will do a NEW thing.
2. NOW shall it spring forth.
3. Shall we not KNOW it?
4. He will make a way in the WILDERNESS and rivers in the DESERT.

When God says that He is about to do something "new," I am certain that change is in the midst. The word "new" in this passage means "fresh," but it also means to "renew" and to "rebuild." I believe this passage, in this season, is speaking about our being on the threshold of experiencing a new thing- but also a renewal. The word "renewal" implies a repairing or a replacement of something. Think about this for a minute – God desires to replace an old belief system and relationship with Him (that has been limited by mindsets, doctrines, etc.) with an updated and even repaired relationship and revelation of Him.

What does this mean? It means that God is going to intimately visit us; His presence will become so tangible that we will surely KNOW Him and actually see Him as He is! (see 1 John 3:2).

Therefore, many of us are about to experience a renewal of our faith in Him. If we believe we have fallen short or even failed God in our old season, He is repairing our belief system and reestablishing the truths of grace and faith and righteousness! Knowing that we are righteous because of the accomplished work at the Cross will stabilize us during times of change. This is because no matter what our old season held, God does not withhold His love and blessings from us as we move forward into the new. Truly knowing this, we repent and change the way we think about ourselves and about God, so that we can run boldly to His Throne and receive a fresh anointing to shift into our new season. Hold on; there's more!

This renewal will bring forth a refreshing and in the midst of this, His perfect plan for our lives will be rebuilt. Whatever the enemy did to tear down the plans and purposes of God for our lives, churches, businesses, families, etc., will be restored and God will bring forth His original intent for our lives and reestablish purpose. We will KNOW it is happening because He is drawing us closer to Him, in a more intimate way.
Our prayer lives are being re-activated and renewed as we are receiving fresh focus and divine strategy as to how and when to pray. Also, we will know He is doing this new thing because we will experience His grace and love in such a way it will be undeniable...and we will have to give Him all the glory because we will recognize the fact that it was He alone who did this. However, to make this shift, will require that we choose to follow Him, be willing to come out of our comfort zones, our comfortable doctrines and comfortable mindsets!

We All Like Comfort!

I immediately wondered what changes were about to take place in my life, our local church, my ministry and, of course, the Church at large. I'll just bet that you are like me...I like being comfortable. Think about all of the comfort in our lives, looking at this at first non-religiously. I would rather wear comfortable shoes rather than those that hurt my feet. I enjoy sitting in a comfortable chair. I love driving a car with comfortable seats, especially seats that are heated in the winter and provide cool air in the summer!

Most of us are the same – we like comfort very much! But, whenever the Lord begins to lead us down a new road or begins to minister to us that it is our season for change, our default button seems to be "hang on to the old; I don't know what the new looks like!" Yes, we get comfortable because we know what to expect and then we begin to sabotage our future by hanging on to whatever is familiar.
Have you ever thought about what the word "comfortable" actually means? It actually means "being free from stress and anxiety and feeling ease and security." Look at the definition again and you'll notice that we desire to be comfortable because a comfort zone says, "Just stay here and you'll be stress free and secure in this place!" Oh my! The only way we can experience true stability and peace is to follow God's leading!
Dear Believer, God is exposing every area of our belief systems and doctrines that blocks us from completely trusting Him and relying on Him only. This must be the reason why His directive word to me emphasized the fact that "He" would lead us. Trusting His lead dictates our complete surrender and our need to always be "right."

The Lord began to download to me concerning how we get comfortable with our lives, our daily activity and, yes, even the church services. But, the Holy Spirit is coming forth with a fresh wind like Pentecost! His breath is being released afresh upon us and it will shake us free from religious mindsets and doctrines of men. I know for a fact that I am thirsty for His presence...and dear ones, there is a thirst that we probably all are experiencing... and it's because we've been in a desert-type experience!

Still in the Wilderness? Join the Club!

Yes. Though we've been having great church and wonderful moves of God, it pales in comparison to what God is about to do! If you will look again at Isaiah 43:19 and the concepts I wrote, God says that He will make a way in the wilderness and provide springs in the desert! Yep, many of us are back in a wilderness experience. But, hold on! It has had its divine purpose!
When experiencing a wilderness, there is an unquenchable thirst that can only be satisfied by a fresh experience with the Lord. The Lord will lead us into a desert experience, just as He did Israel, on purpose! Why? To rid us of an old slavery mentality, the mindsets attached to our past experiences and our false belief systems concerning God, as well as ourselves! The Lord has a way of leading us through a desert that causes us to cry out again. Let's just admit it – we need Him now more than ever before!

Let's not linger any longer in a wilderness experience, but rather let go of every limitation that would tie us to our past. In my recent book, Letting Go of Limitations: Experiencing God's Transforming Power, I discuss religious doctrines, mindsets and hindrances that keep us chained to our past. I thoroughly discuss how to come out of mindsets that keep us in our past and how to shift into God's transforming power.
Reader, I've had to go back and read my own book in times like this. This book will be a help to you as you position yourself for this next season. Dear one, listen up! How can we contain what He is about to do? The answer is this – we must become a new wineskin! God is about to open up fresh springs of refreshing because He is about to do something new.

The New Wineskins

Matthew 9:16-17:
"No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved."

Looking further into God preparing us as NEW wineskins, we must consider the fact that often God will take something used (old) and "restore" it to a new quality. When a wineskin became inflexible and needs a type of "life-extension" so that it can be further used, it had to endure a process where it was soaked in water and followed up with intense rubbing in oil. As this was done, a new flexibility to receive the new wine occurred. It's a good thing that God is opening up rivers and springs right now – this will intensify our need to "soak" in His presence.

As we "soak," Jesus, the Anointed One, will rub us with His holy oil – all for the divine purpose of making us more flexible. We will each seek more of His anointing and, therefore, become even more anointed ourselves as we continue to be used for His glory! For many of us, we become inflexible in our mindsets and belief systems and, therefore, unable to hold new wine from Heaven. The only way to make a shift so that we can experience the river in our wilderness is to be determined to remain steady as He shakes us, removes us from our comfort zones and be willing to hear new direction by His Spirit.

An old season must end before a new season begins. Therefore, let's prepare for the NEW by letting go of the old! Also, the old wine in an old season is coming to an end. I've been noticing that my messages are changing as I travel from region to region. The books and articles I am writing are also in the midst of change. This is because I am desperately attempting to let go of what "I think I know" and embrace His new thing! He is speaking differently...let's not limit His voice to a familiar voice and directive of the past. Yes, the Lord is challenging us to let go! God desires to release a new liberty to us and a fresh anointing that will destroy yokes of oppression in our own lives as well as others!
Allow me to pray for you as you let go of the old and embrace the new:

Father, I pray today for Your children. You are leading us a different way and we are learning to completely trust You. Thank You for leading us out of our old wilderness. Thank You for delivering us from the false voice of the enemy and the seductive voice of our past experiences that do not give You glory. Thank You for preparing each of us to be a new wineskin so that we can receive all that Heaven has to offer to us. As we pray for Heaven to touch earth, we submit to letting go of our comfort zones so that we can be fully used to demonstrate Your Kingdom. In Jesus' name. Amen.
