God's Light And The Space Of Time

24.06.2017, Daniel Glimm

Introduction

I would like to give the following message to address the light of God in relation to the value of time. From Psalm 36:9 it is obvious that God is the source of life and in His light we are able to see the light.

Psalm 36:9:
9 For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

The Hidden Knowledge Of God And The Importance Of The Sacrifice Of Jesus

It is good to clearly understand though the insight hidden in this mentioned Bible verse.
First of all, it is important to note that through Jesus Christ, the dead and the risen One, we are able to enter into the presence of God in the Spirit in order to be able to walk in the center of His eternal life and government (see John 14:6; John 3:16 i.c.w. Colossians 3:1-3).

John 14:6:
6 Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'

John 3:16:
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Colossians 3:1-3:
1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

God's Respect For Temporary Time

Recently, I had received the news of a sudden death in our neighborhood where a person died at a relatively young age.

The reason why I am writing about it at this point is because with God the life we live in the temporary time has a special value. Therefore it is important that we allow the Holy Spirit to teach us to number our days so that we may become wise (see Psalm 90:12).

Psalm 90:12:
12 Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

This wisdom includes to fully comprehend the value of temporary time.
There is a quantity in the temporal time and that is the reason why the apostle Paul pointed out the importance of redeeming the time to the Ephesians (see Ephesians 5:15-16).

Ephesians 5:15-16:
15 Be very careful, then, how you live - not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity (note: redeeming the time), because the days are evil.

As people of God, it is so important for us to recognize the importance of the temporal time on earth because it involves the period in which we as human beings made in flesh and blood can worship God, the Father in Spirit and in truth (see Psalm 115:17-18 i.c.w. John 4:23-24).

Psalm 115:17-18:
17 It is not the dead who praise the Lord, those who go down to the place of silence; 18 it is we who extol the Lord, both now and forevermore. Praise the Lord. (Hallelujah.)

John 4:23-24:
23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.

The value of surrendering to the Lord in the midst of that limited temporal period of time is especially honored by God in Heaven. This is also made clear by the fact that Jesus Christ appears in the spiritual realm in the facet of the Lamb of God being slain as a reference to the life of Jesus Christ in the temporal time, including His victory on the cross of Calvary.

Therefore it can be said that the facet of the Lamb of God in eternity represents the temporary period of the life of Jesus Christ on earth. It is the facet of the Lamb of God, which includes the entire life of Jesus on earth in flesh and blood (see Revelation 5:6; John 1:29.36).

Revelation 5:6:
6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

John 1:29.36:
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, 'Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! …'
… 36 When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, `Look, the Lamb of God!'

The Character Of Light And Its Space Of Time

In order to go deeper into the meaning of the light of God, I would like to note that the light of God has been given a different character through the different spaces of time (note: eternal time, temporal time) which is clearly evident by the Seven Spirits of God who are differently positioned in the 'space of time' of eternity.

The Seven Spirits Of God And The Light

On the one hand, the Seven Spirits of God are revealed as seven burning torches in front of God's throne, and on the other side they are seven shining eyes in the structure of the Lamb of God (see Revelation 4:5; Revelation 5:6).

The reason why I mentioned the eyes as luminous is simply because there is no darkness in God and the eye is the light of the body (see 1 John 1:5 i.c.w. Luke 11:34a).

1 John 1:5:
5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.

Luke 11:34a:
34a Your eye is the lamp of your body. …

Since there is no sin in Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God (see Hebrews 4:15), we can assume that His light shines through the seven eyes of the Seven Spirits of God, and ultimately it is the Lamb of God that is the lamp in the heavenly, anointed city of Jerusalem (note: structure of the Bride of Christ; see Revelation 21:23).

Hebrews 4:15:
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet he did not sin.

Revelation 21:23:
23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.

The Interwoven Light In The Midst Of The Heavenly City

In this Heavenly city (note: which is a structure of the spirit) does not rule the power of the light of the temporal time (note: no sun and moon exist) but the power of the light of the time of eternity (note: God's glory). The time of eternity is interwoven with the temporal measure of time of the Son of God (note: the time when Jesus Christ lived on the earth and gave himself as a sacrifice for mankind).

As a result, the city is flooded with the glorious light of the Heavenly Father by the lamp of the Lamb (note: the light of the fatherhood and sonship of God). This glorious light of eternity testifies the unity that Jesus Christ prayed for in John 17.

He prayed for those who were born from above (note: spirit filled – born again) and for the people later being born from above by their testimonies to be one (see John 3:3 i.c.w. John 17:11b-23) .

John 3:3:
3 Jesus replied, 'Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again (note: from above).'

John 17:11b-23:
'… 11b Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. …
20 'My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one – 23 I in them and you in me – so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. ...'

The Different Characters Of Light

In the presence of God there are different characters of light, for instance the lightnings of God that go forth from His throne, the seven burning torches before His throne as well as the seven eyes of the Lamb of God from which the light of the Lord comes forth (see Revelation 4:5; Revelation 5:6; Luke 11:34a).

Revelation 4:5:
5 From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. In front of the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits of God.

Revelation 5:6:
6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

Luke 11:34a:
34a Your eye is the lamp of your body. …

The Lightnings Of God

The lightnings of God carrying among other things this power of His inner being and His government to strengthen the saints (note: for their mission) who stand before the Throne according to Colossians 3:1-3 so that they may reveal the miraculous power of God to men on earth.

The Burning Torches Before The Throne Of God

The burning torches, on the other hand, are in front of the Throne of God in the Throne room. They burn with a supernatural fire carrying within themselves the consuming nature of God which requires the substance of true devotion of believers to reveal His holiness and zeal. These two attributes are also connected with the fear of the Lord (see Deuteronomy 4:24; Psalm 50:3 i.c.w. Hebrews 12:28-29).

Deuteronomy 4:24:
24 For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

Psalm 50:3:
3 Our God comes and will not be silent; a fire devours before him, and around him a tempest rages.

Hebrews 12:28-29:
28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our 'God is a consuming fire.'

True Devotion

True devotion to Jesus Christ points to a person who has fully submitted himself/herself to the will and plan of God, investing his/her free time into the fellowship with Him. This means that the temporary time is purchased (note: redeemed) so that God honors the temporal time of the believer in eternity.

The Purchased Time And The Seven Eyes Of The Lamb Of God

This used/purchased time of the believer is recognized by God as a measure of time that has its seat in the spiritual structure of the Lamb of God. This used or invested time has the character like the light that shines from one of the seven eyes of the Lamb of God.

The seven burning torches carry the light of the space of time of the eternity of God because they are connected with His Throne room.
The seven eyes of the Lamb of God in eternity carry the light of the space of the temporary time from the Son of God (note: while He lived on the earth and sacrificed His life on the cross of Calvary for mankind).

This light of the space of the temporary time from the Son of God releases the riches of the inner being of Jesus which is His true love to us and the hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge (see Romans 5:8-10; 1 John 4:9 i.c.w. Colossians 2:2-3) of God.

Romans 5:8-10:
8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!
10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

1 John 4:9:
9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

Colossians 2:2-3:
2 My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,
3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

The Fusion Of The Eternal Light

The fusion of the light of the eternity of God with the light of the temporal time of the Son of God finds its climax in the bridal structure, the heavenly, anointed city of Jerusalem, where the glory of God and the Lamb of God are the only cause for the illumination of the city (see Revelation 21:23).

Revelation 21:23:
23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.

The Identification Of God With The Temporary Time

God, the Heavenly Father as well as His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ in eternity identify themselves with us as living human beings in the temporary time calling themselves the Alpha and the Omega, even though they are eternal (see Revelation 1:8; Revelation 22:13 i.c.w. Hebrews 7:3).

Revelation 1:8:
8 'I am the Alpha and the Omega,'says the Lord God, 'who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.'

Revelation 22:13:
13 I (note: Jesus Christ) am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

Hebrews 7:3:
3 Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever.
Conclusion

So this revelatory character of God's light of space and time should help forward to keep in mind that time is valuable and precious, especially when our time has been spent in submission to Him, who desires to be one with us.

Amen and Amen.

In His Wisdom,

Daniel Glimm
